  1. To be honest doing a roof like that would not be too difficult if you were to indulge in a bit of the "m" word.
  2. They must not have ordered any or enough. My understanding is retailers get what they order. There is a deadline and all orders prior to that are fulfilled. There is no rationing.
  3. It is a cunning plan to finally get his hands on the licensed Titfield Thunderbolt model.😁
  4. Rapido are certainly releasing a lot of steam engines, if their next announcement is Flying Scotsman we will know for certain whete Simon Kohler has found a new home.😁
  5. The class 56 is available from retailers not direct from Cavalex so how could there be a payment plan? It is up to individual retailers.
  6. From memory, it was very quick. A minute or 2 at most once it was paid off.
  7. You have got plenty of space and just like me after many years are planning a layout. The only thing that I would suggest is that the curves into and out of the station look a bit tight. Always go for the biggest curves you can. Radically you could swap the station and the MPD or even just do half a station with rest off scene. Incline is fine and 3% is not too bad but if you have the room make it 2%. Best of luck
  8. Yes. I would not be surprised to see a 325 in the next 12 months. Whether it is from Accurascale or not who can say :)
  9. Many thanks Larry. Very interesting. You have done a lot of digging on this one to provide some very useful information.
  10. You are missing the point I suspect. There is a topic on the 2Cs yet you posted about them in the 2Bs.
  11. I will be there. A bit more advance since we last spoken. Just about to start baseboards. You advised me to get the layout running well before starting on automation. I have made provision for it but will get things running well before I start setting up iTrains etc. See you in Warley.
  12. That is unfortunate but KR models lack of research seems to be a common theme on their models, e.g. the Fell. They dare to build but they do not dare to do much, if any, research and do not like it when anyone dares to criticise them.
  13. I was chatting to you too at Model Rail Scotland and you gave me some very useful advise.
  14. I was speaking to Accurascale at GETS over the weekend and the body of the Irish version is wider, not just the chassis.
  15. Whatever it is, it is a diesel (video to be shown on Saturday): Needless to say, this could still be the Fell :)
  16. Very sad news. He was great to chat to, a lovely bloke as has been said. He will be missed. RIP George
  17. There is a search facility on the site and you can search a single topic as far as I know.
  18. The cab is a very important area and, as mentioned, scanning does not seem to be the be all and end all. I was going to get a Heljan 45 until I saw it. However things have improved, the Accurascale 50 EPs look good, a huge improvement on the Hornby one. The Accurascale Deltic was also a big step forward on previous models. The SLW 25s look good too.
  19. Working sidelights would be great. I have 2 Provincial and it the only downside to what is a really great model.
  20. I think you mean fortumately 😀 In the case of this loco, apart from: - the warning flashes, which are easily changed, and - the presense or absense of the namepate, again easily changed, are there any other differences between BR and current condition? e.g. changes to windscreen, etc.?
  21. Any review I saw was full of errors, incorrect assumptions and lack of knowledge, Not really surprising as he seemed to have no focus in his interest, every region, every time period, and then some. Anything to get viewers. As I say, I blocked the channel a long time ago. There was no 3D printing or anything like that, just trains running on carpet and unboxing videos. Glad he has focused on something he can be an expert on.
  22. His overall lack of knowledge and common sense made me block the channel years ago.
