  1. Hello all, i'm planning on buying myself the Bachmann Acela high speed train but i've noticed that its DCC fitted. Now, all my trains are either pure analog or DCC ready and my controller is the HM2000. I know that DCC fitted can run on DC provided the controller isn't a feedback. I would like to know if the HM2000 is a feedback controller since i dont want to end up frying my Acela unit and i don't know if Bachmann sell the blanking plates so i can remove the chip. Edit: I should mention that the version of the HM2000 i have is the older type that has the expansion plug for HM2000+ controllers Cheers in advance, WestRail
  2. The new Hornby site lists all the APT packs are out of stock, is this just saying that pre-order is maxed out?
  3. Has anyone else had issues with recent orders on the new site? For me, its showing an order i made last year, not the order i made a few days ago
  4. While the working sample looks amazing, bit of a shame the nose doesn't come off to allow coupling to a locomotive, but if the model is going to be fitted with directional lighting as im expecting, i actually dont mind the trade-off
  5. i do wonder if Hornby ever planned on making a railroad variant using the new tooling since they did the same for the railway and railroad P2s with the same tooling just with some details and livery simplified for the railroad and sets
  6. how easy would it be to install a motor into the dummy NDM in the 7 car pack, i dont think Hornby sell 5 poles as spares or would it be easier to just buy the single NDM for the 5 car pack and fit its chassis to the dummy NDM's body?
  7. could you post a link to this page?
  8. yes there is some on the other end and its the same
  9. So while giving my 395 some oiling, i had accidently knocked off the coupler hatch on the nose and i discovered the female socket of a ball and socket coupling and this got me thinking, since i knew this was a feature of the newer Hornby Visitor Center unit from the 2019/2020 but i didn't think it was on the Sir Chris Hoy model since i thought would just be an empty pocket like on Sir Steve Redgrave. did Hornby ever release a shaft for these coupler to connect to or do they expect to just couple two units directly, and if thats the case, wouldn't that cause derailments as is the case with the GWR 800 model
  10. if the NDM has one motor fitted, would it be possible to install a second motor into the NDM so both bogies are powered?
  11. I've got a question regarding the new APT, do we know if it will have full interior lighting or just directional lighting? asking as in the 2020 Hornby Catalog, it has a light build icon on the APT's page, but it also has the icon next to the new 395 they're releasing and that just has directional lighting
  12. That might be because they only run with one up per direction
  13. Actually, the Class 745 has two pantographs, one at each end, same goes for the 755/4, the 755/3 only has the one pantograph as it only has one intermediate trailer
  14. I think the 7 car pack will also include the APT-U testing coach that was used for testing the design doe the Intercity 225
  15. ok, Hornby are going to sell a single NDM, product code is R3948 and its listed as £109.99 on the website https://www.Hornby.com/uk-en/shop/new-for-2020/br-class-370-advanced-passenger-train-non-driving-motor-ndm-49004-era-7.html
  16. i hope its to a similier standard to Rapido's APT-E
  17. the APT-U coach was used for the test bed of the MKIVs iirc, given how the IC225 was based on APT
  18. just noticed that APT listing doesn't list a single NDM, so i guess that ruins any chances of trying to run 14 coach
  19. i unironically tried to make a 2 version of the second one on roblox
  20. Yeah, the 745s will also be doing the Stansted shuttle runs, replacing the Electrostars currently on the route
  21. how easy is it to cut and shut models?
