I do similar to Michael, but wrap foil round my metal plate. Thin card between plate and foil prevents heat loss but magnets still work (as long as they are adequately strong enough) Regards Deano.

Still 4 1/2 years to go, officially, but maybe before that?? Regards, Rob (Deano)

Hi George Cracking job on the Pacifics x3!! Good to see your mojo back too as I enjoy following your work. I look forward to the DA N Class build as its another in my stash 'on the shelf' A recent, and very unexpected promotion to a management position has put all my modelling on the back-burner for now, as I was about to make a start on a DA 42xx kit. Hopefully later summer time?! Regards, Rob (Deano)

Wow Ken, you certainly do like a challenge!! It makes your thread ever more interesting to see how you take on these challenges, and we all learn from your approach to these 'obstacles'. Keep up the good work. Regards, Deano.

More this sot of colour..... (Apologies as I cannot remember who to credit for this photo) Regards, Deano.

Hi Ade, looking good. Personally, I would go for a slightly darker shade. I've seen many models spoilt by being too orange in the rail department. I agree that some parts were mainly rust but it appears to be more darker grime and dirt, oil etc. I'm trying to recall some layout pictures as an example but it's late where I am and my tiny brain cannot remember for now; will try harder! It's your layout after all so whatever you're happy with. Regards, Deano.

That platform surface could be slippery when wet?!! Sound is excellent though! Regards, Deano

......and just when you thought it couldn't get any better....!! Regards, Deano.

Hi Ken, I'm sure I speak for many on here who follow your talented building, and send our sincere condolences at such a sad time. All the best. Deano.

Simon It's no higher than the shed therefore doesn't dominate, and a nice feature to add interest. Thumbs up from me. Regards, Deano.

Friday the chassis is started.....Wednesday it's complete bar transfers!! Do you ever sleep Ken?? Lovely job by the way! Regards, Deano.

I tend to go for anything with 2% of silver (Ag) it seems to flow much better in 145C or 179C varieties. I managed to acquire a few reels before the lead-free ban. Regards, Deano.

Mini drill bits (< 0.5mm) Recommendation(s)
Deano747 replied to Penlan's topic in Kitbuilding & Scratchbuilding
Likewise, I would recommend Horley Drill Service at drill-service.co.uk (I was born and bred in Horley too) It's a case of you get what you pay for!! Regards, Deano. -
I was beginning to wonder where you were as it is unusual for you to be so quiet! Stay safe matey!! Regards, Dean.
