This is news to me, when did that happen?

Tim has been kind enough to send us more updates on the progress he has made with our 1:76 scale WDM2 kit. And what a mind blowing job he has done!!

There was supposed to be a new edition of TES (last Friday of the month). Maybe May was a slow month and they didn't have as many updates as they'd like to have had to fill up a whole blog. Based on past experiences, the community can get quite vocal about a blog with less content. Or like in a few instances in the past, they probably has some "technical difficulties". There was a video update on YouTube showcasing their Hornby Railroad Class 37 and Class 121 in Network Rail livery and a few wagons and Skaledale buildings.

Yikes, one would think that Hornby have taken away everything from you. I hope you succeed in single handedly taking down Hornby.

A very sensible post indeed and one that hits the nail on the head Your shop looks lovely! If only I could order something from the website. Any plans to have a website for people to order from? I'm always on the lookout for new model shops.

None that anyone knows of -
Hey, I can confirm that it will be powered off of the track and not a maglight setup. Though I did pass on the suggestion to develop a maglight with a longer LED strip for other coaches within the Hornby range.
-
It's most likely the conventional pick-ups from the wheel arrangement.

APT-U Development coach? HTH
-
Wasn't that what they created the so called "Tier System" for?
-
Thank you for clearing that up Andy. But didn't Hattons themselves say (on rmweb IIRC) that they do generally sell a few more than their allocation? Unless I am wrong or if my memory failed me? But I do remember seeing a post from Hattons Dave about Hattons regularly selling a few more that their pre-order allocation.

I agree, a direct email to Simon Kohler will be far more affective. We emailed him, we asked about the situation and we got a long and detailed reply explaining the whole thing. Each individual can form their own opinion about it. Whilst I agree with Simon as to why Hornby have changed their allocation strategy, I don't think the way they've gone about doing it was the right way. And what they're doing isn't illegal. But yes, I urge anyone who is upset about this and who feels this is bad business practices to email Simon Kohler direct and have a word with him.

Dapol Announce Another Run of 9Fs Due Q4 2021 - Q1 2022

Couldn't resist, I've pre-ordered one -
Isn't one a battery box and the other the toilet tanks?
-
None of Hornby's coaches require DCC decoders for lighting. They are simply powered off of the tracks or they have power connectors

I've made some minor (amateur) changes to the artwork to point out the more obvious errors. The rest will be complied in a list and emailed today. I need to go through the thread again and list all the feedback given. I'll send the email tonight so that there's enough time for people to spot any other errors.
-
I'll add that with some reference images in the email.

Just wanted to put in a good word. I believe in "credit where credit is due" and whilst Hattons haven't been great over the last two years in my opinion, I must thank them. The recently had a model that I've been trying to get my hands on for ages. It was second hand and at 60 quid I couldn't resist. I was quite sceptical as on two prior occasions I bought second hand items from Hattons and they were not advertised correctly. A quick email and a Hattons team member actually went over and above to not only inspect the model and answer my questions, but he also took lots of photos and a video as well. So hats off to Hattons. Going from false advertising to exceptional customer service is real progress.

The initial artwork seemed to have had that error. I've compiled a list of corrections and sent it to Neil and Joel.
