Absolutely superb!! 🤩 With those tankers being produced too this is just the image I have in mind to model. Looking forward to the announcement of 021 😉😅🙏

If there’s more EWS tugs in the pipeline this is one that I’d absolutely HAVE to have! A nice little touch for me is the petroleum stickers it acquired at some stage in its life.

Anyone still looking for options of preorders, colletts of Exmouth still have a few available - no connection with the shop just a satisfied customer! Also thought I’d drop the link to help any fellow modellers get their hands on what looks to be a superb loco thats pretty much sold out almost everywhere now! 🙂 https://www.collettsmodelshop.co.uk/?s=Accurascale+class+37&post_type=product -
Crikey! I’d best get my order sharpish…

Wow! Just wow! Does anybody know of anywhere where I could possibly preorder 37419? 🙈 -
I’ve been sat here wondering whether to post this question or not as I can’t quite remember past discussions but being selfish for my own benefit. What were peoples opinions on the shade of maroon on the previous (Hattons) EWS livery? I’m asking as my personal opinion was it was a little too light/bright for my liking. I thought Bachmann were closer shade to the prototype, I’m guessing Accurascale will have their own idea for the “correct” shade of this livery anyway. I know the 66171 that’s been announced is being provided in an ‘in service’ condition so this may affect the overall appearance.

Just giving these a little bump - any updates guys?

IIRC they were announced - then COVID struck which resulted in this next batch being put on the back burner so they haven’t (as yet) been manufactured. I’m sure Charlie will confirm soon 👍

Oh yes! I see now Jo you’ve pointed the differences out 😅

Would there be any chance of having the red VTG tanks with the smaller black VTG lettering rather than the slightly larger blue VTG lettering which were in the previous batch?

I’ve just been watching the announcement video of the Accurascale 66 on the Hornby Magazine YouTube channel and taken a few screenshots that’ll I post below. I’m sure the lighting will be true to life but thought I’d post images just to highlight my thoughts/feelings plus a couple of side on shots of the coupling for Danny which I’m hoping will help settle his thoughts a little on that matter. Going by the model that is being demonstrated the lighting is of the incorrect colours and the top marker light doesn’t match the intensity of the bottom two, plus I feel the main daytime headlight could do with being a little brighter. I know from talking to Alex at illuminated models (regarding the ‘Hattons 66’) you loose quite a lot of the intensity via using plastic light piping from the small square lighting board located in the middle. Hence why Alex manufactured new lighting boards which replaced the original and placed tiny LED’s behind the actual light openings which gave a rather realistic look. This also eliminated any light bleed caused from having a cluster of lights in one small area. I can’t help but think that having a longer lighting board directly behind the marker and headlights would give a better representation of the real locos (just as Bachmann do with their current class 66’s) I have no doubt that you guys at Accurascale will produce a flawless class 66 and already have 3 ordered up 👍

Excellent. Just for this reason alone I will be placing an order for 60028 👍

@RBE Am I correct in saying that your ‘CAPPAGH’ liveried 60 will have the new style light clusters and NOT the original?

Great announcement and great to see you guys taking on this class. The 2 things that jump out straight away for me is: 1) The front cab rail still looks to be made from plastic, therefore looks to bend/be wonky. I personally think this should be metal. 2) The headlight/markers don’t match the colour and intensity of the prototype. This was a major problem for me with the Hattons model. The top marker colour and intensity should match that of the lower 2 markers with the day/night headlight should be a brighter more intense light. The older wipac style light clusters have a “warm” coloured glow to them whereas the newer light clusters have LED’s which have a more “pure white” colour to them.
