  1. That would be me. Big fan of your layout/models by the way !
  2. Probably a question to which the answer is no, but I'd welcome Rapido selling Alfred I'm light green lined livery on its own and not part of a twin pack. Sure they've got their reasons but...
  3. Payment made to Details, should be getting mine next week! Looks great and can't wait to run it behind my J70
  4. Anyone know if they are still on to deliver this quarter? Not a complaint, just the way things go these days, just interested.
  5. And if a blanking plate is needed, what would I need to purchase for the Bachmann Branchline 31-090DS Class 32xx? (How many pins is the chip?)
  6. Could I 'chip in' here and ask a novice question too...sounds like you're saying that a DCC sound fitted model should in theory work on a non-DCC layout? I just bought 'Bachmann Branchline 31-090DS Class 32xx 'Earl' 4-4-0 3206 "Earl of Plymouth" in GWR green - DCC sound fitted' because I wanted the model and I couldn't find any more non-DCC models left in the livery I wanted... ...I was assuming I'd need to get a DCC blanking plate? Is that not the case? Controller wise I have a Gaugemaster D controller. Thanks v much
  7. On the other hand, the original livery seems to have been a dark ochre which I think looks great! (See my post above)
  8. @Dingolatic I'm particularly interested in the pre-GWR liveries, do you mind sharing info on that please? For example, is there more information on the livery that's displayed on the front of the book? I also wondered if there was a colourised version of this photo or at least an explanation to the livery colours for the below photo from before 1910. I like the intricate lining! Thank you
  9. How come it was painted yellow ochre? Was it ever painted this way pre-BR days? Just wondered if there was an explanation
  10. I know the livery options will be released in due course, but out of interest is there a website that lists every livery these locos were ever in? With pictures of course :) just want to start ruminating on which one(s) I'm going to get!
  11. Huge fan of these @rapidoandy @RapidoCorbs! have both the Metropolitan liveries on pre order! just a reflection on the dome...would a similar chrome finish to the dome on Hornby's SECR H Class be possible/achievable? cheers, David
  12. on the subject of which, does anyone know a good alternative to Shapeways? The shipping is now completely insane...
  13. Like others, it's a shame they didn't do what seemed like minor tooling alterations, but I'm still really pleased this is happening. I might get one of these 3D printed boiler backheads https://www.shapeways.com/product/TQSMZ6GSZ/oo9-talyllyn-backhead?optionId=300719851&li=marketplace Also if anyone wants it, I drew this to go on the inside of the cab for my Skarloey conversion. The whole image is A5, so if you print at that size (or x2 on an A4 page) it'll be the right measurements: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aB33fNkGEsFd_YwBAZVvLs-if5ALMOwJ/view?usp=sharing Have Bachmann given any updates on when it'll be despatched? I'm guessing end of this year at the earliest?
  14. By the way I did this, and they returned it repaired within a few days. Brilliant service!
  15. Hi folks, I've got a Model D and for some reason Track 2 is permanently on, when it wasn't before. See photo - dial is on OFF but it's got a yellow light and is running trains at MAX. I did leave the controller on all day (with both dials in an OFF position) but it's been a bit hot today so maybe it's caused it to freak out? Any thoughts on what might be causing this or how to fix it? Thank you
  16. Thanks folks, good tips! I'm going to try changing the plastic wheels on the coaches to metal ones and seeing if this helps fix the issue, before I modify the loco itself
  17. At the end of my tether with my Hornby Dean Single, Lorna Doone. To overcome the terrible traction, I put bullfrog snot on the driving wheels (this version has no traction tyre to begin with). Initially this worked pretty well but it's not as good as an actual traction tyre, if anything it gives it too much grip which causes it to judder and be very noisy. Has anyone else found a better solution? Have you found a way to add weight to it? Or should I just hope that someone does a decent retooling soon. Rapido's incredible Stirling Single shows how it can be done, i.e. with a lot of diecast. I'm not after miracles, just to pull 4 coaches (weights removed) up a modest incline! Thank you
  18. Similarly Bachmann's Midland 1P has the cab steps that are seperately fitted for 'display purposes only', but I attached them with a tiny bit of black tac and they are fine even on 2nd radius curves, on my layout at least!
  19. They aren't there in the latest video they've uploaded of the 2nd EP either. Be interesting to know whether they'll include them as an optional accessory, imagine they will. It's just a guess on my part but looking at that video it might be possible it could negotiate 3rd radius curves with them on, but that is a guess, and assumes it's running on 3rd radius on the video and not 4th radius or above. https://youtu.be/ea59e2mCzP8
  20. Sorry me again...but just wondering if any one has heard anything on this?
