  1. Pretty much like their 66 then, all fine
  2. Class 37 retool. Hornby or Bachman..?
  3. A bachman shunter has been resurrected from the scrapline this weekend and given a new body.. Been sitting around for a few years. Haven't got the confidence for a sound installation yet! Shes showing off some scratchbuilt balllast wagons. Father christmas may brimg some new JNA at the weekend..
  4. Are the handset specific types or can you use standard ones, say from a original Dynamis system..
  5. Wow 50squid!!. Thats decided it for me.. I will attempt a build.. Be nice to get good pics of the underframes..
  6. Yes ive seen the mendip rail ones down at Westbury.. Tell you what.. If you get some and take decent photos of the underframes il try and match em..!
  7. The Revolution jna is a nice surprise.. I wonder what the pricetag will be. Have to stock up on tf25. I may build my own
  8. Wow great news.. Just when I was running out of bogies... Keep us posted..!
  9. Its 60048 Eastern. Decoder works the loco and lights fine, just no sound.. Upon examination I discovered a blackened component opposite to the pin end. Ive emailed Hornby. I believe this ones quite old. Shame, i really likex the scheme. Hopefully can get a replacement.. :-(
  10. This has just happened on my class 60 with factory fitted sound.. devastated, any call back to Hornby or loksound..??
  11. Hi Gabriel.. Sun will will be back here.. In fact it was here today down at Bedwyn where I spent the afternoon watching class 59s speeding by.. I enclose some of my underframes which I got round to having read your post.mine efforts are freelance and based on what can be seen from photographs. Scractbuilding demands high concentration and commitment.. So i take a break occasionally to enjoy my trainset..
  12. The fact that Dapol have taken so long to sort the 59 has meant its unlikely i would buy it now. I believe it was announced in mid 14.. Compare this to the new 66 which will be available just after xmas!! But alas it could be worse-my tt mate who is praying for a class 66.. Hes still trying to cram a decoder and speaker into a triang 08! Im afraid to tell him its impossible...
  13. Hi Grizzz, i havnt got round to the big hoppers yet. Ive considered the different approaches with styrene or brass to get the body done. With it all weighed up i think it's a tall order. George at s.Kits is producing kits for 25 quid each- i think il go for these eventually. Ive generally used geneesis kits airtank on all my wagons although its a bit oversized in some instances. My 59s are all based on the Hornby version with includes the better motor and easier mods for dcc. Ive put a class 67 tts chip in it as they sound the same as a 59!
  14. Thought id show you what ive been up to. Wagons in various states of finishing off, loads to add, painting of insides and adding couplings. Class 59 001 has been added to the fleet over the weekend. Hope to add the anniversary vinyls sooner or later. Came across some bachman tta at a good price and have made some transfers and added decals to match methonal tta-at a far cheaper price than the factory ones!!
  15. Correction, 67,ir sounds more or less the same...
  16. May put a tts 66 chip in my latest 59 project..and wondered what you lot think.. Should I be fussed with the semantics.. I have premium lok decoders and notice differences in the life size version so I think it comes down to compromises.. Is spending over double really worth it when it comes to a 59/66...?
  17. You gotta get down the pub Grizz!! I decided to do some yeiman pxa of which there were only 10 prototype so easy to mix in with others. I may have to make my own transfers.
  18. Maybe when im next up at westbury il mention it if i see a friendly driver...
  19. Congratulations to the DEMU "production team" for a great exhibition. Yes it was a little warm, but us Brits always whinge about the weather' Only when i cant breath..!!
  20. Ok sounds good.. Lets hope lots of openable Windows lol.. Forget to ask the Legobuffo lads if theyve booked an appointment with mendip rail to record the 59...does anybody know.. Gid bless em!!
  21. Was a bit cooler when an effort was made with ventilation.. On days like that there really should be a blind eye towards silly fire doors rule.. They could've been opened for 30mins to get the air circulation goin. .. Would rather that than someone fainting or worse!! Anyway good show.. Thanks everyone!!
  22. Wow 22.. Thats mammoth!! Proper prototypical.. Whats the chosen livery... Are these JNA..?
