  1. Thanks Richard, im hoping to get a bunch up to works finish, then start to think about weathering them all
  2. Third stage of teaking on this six wheeler. Still only placed together, and not yet fixed. I need to add glazing, and interior seats, along with additional weathering of the teak so it doesn’t feel so brand new. Im also wondering whether to paint the roof grey up to the weather stripping, as according to the GER society they sometimes did this on coach roofs! Obviously also need to add wheels as well, and weather the metal to feel more metal like.
  3. Hello folks Im busy building some Great Eastern Coaches in O gauge for the club layout, could anyone tell me if the roofs of the Great Eastern Clerestorys had Torpedo vents on them? And Bars across the windows as they had on the four wheeled GER coaches? I have included some drawings I have knocked up below with what I know so far, any help be much appreciated
  4. Second stage in the Mike Trice excellent guide to teaking, base coating the models, prior to the oil pass.
  5. Hello Ray Good to hear from you Sir, and yes they all will be available through Din’s new service all being well very very soon
  6. Finally gotten round to firing up the Phrozen Mega 8K and had a go at printing my first GER 6 wheeled Luggage composite coach here in 7mm, it is just primed, and placed together for present, along with some GER 4 wheelers in 7mm to accompany her! She needs some refining going forward and hope to iron out those kinks as I get more used to using this machine. I haven't included the detail parts here but will show them as the build comes along! Next up all being well is a 7mm GER Clerestory 6 wheeled Brake if I can get it to print. PS Cat is real and not 3d printed!!!
  7. Looks good Sir, however I think you can't beat Resin printers for detail on these wagons chap, but breaking the wagon into as many separate parts as possible often helps to get better prints too
  8. Thanks Din, sounds amazing and yes I imagine I may also be brassic once I have finished this 8x4ft gaming table Oh and I have just signed up to your platform and looking forward to getting started sir
  9. This is fantastic news Din I shall be signing up as soon as I can, plus I have a bunch of new stuff in the shape of 28mm Wargamming bolt action buildings to add to the collection Cheers Rob
  10. Not strictly model railway focused but im also working on some 28mm bolt action wargaming buildings, mostly inspired by Sainte Mere Eglise in France Here is the street I have modelled up so far, need to finish the church, and a few more buildings and walls before i get making this Diorama
  11. Cheers @Skinnylinnythat is very kind of you, I will post the results once we have had a go, its going to be a bit of club effort fingers crossed!
  12. Working up some additional retaining walls for the Clubs layout, including a fillet section for hiding the joins between the sections! Once I have a clean print we are hoping to look into casting these as we want a fair few sections probably 40-50 and at over a day and a half to print for each section it is going to take a while, not to mention a lot of filament!
  13. This time of year sucks for printing! Great time to get all the CAD work done for a Spring printing extravaganza
  14. Thanks Paula, any idea on the final quality of the prints? the 450x450 would be ideal for what i need
  15. Hello Sir hope you are all good? so how is the Ender 3 v2? I'd be keen to see some of the prints this machine knocks out, as im thinking of getting a new FDM printer this year for some of the larger buildings i am planning. I know Creality do some large format printers and ideally would love to get a 350-400mm build bed FDM printer as my zortrax struggles to print anything unless its ABS which warps big time. Cheers Rob
  16. I would say yes as well looking at the details on this
  17. Are you going to Market it as 'Inspired by The Titchfield Thunderbolt' as well as Hornby
  18. I'm not entirely sure, I have seen someone paint one model one of these coaches in Southern Green. I suspect a lot of them went to light railways around the country.
  19. Cheshire Lines 6 wheeled five compartment Third
  20. Knocking up some more coaching stock during the winter months here are some MSLR - GCR 4 wheeled coaching stock, Brake, Third, First and Composite Luggage.
  21. Hi Ray, Some lovely wagons there, and thanks for that information I was unaware there was a difference, so will look to put that half plank in at some point before i print it. As for printing the cattle wagons without the bars, i'm probably not going to remove them at the moment, they are easily cut off if required, but I may get round to amending or providing versions without them in the future for folks who would like to use brass or metal rods instead. I'm currently looking to finish all these CLC, MS&LR and LD&ECR Coaches im working on
  22. Thanks Dave for the kind words, very much appreciated. Yes hopefully I am now thinking of putting these on Din's new site when he has it up and running, along with a lot of the coaches and buildings I have modelled all being well. As soon as I know more I will post here. Cheers Rob
  23. Hello Andy, hope you are feeling ok? I'm not entirely sure if they did, im sure someone on here will have the answer to that question. Though interestingly looking at a photo of an Ex MS&L Stores Brake van originally a Composite Luggage van in Tatlows Volume One of LNER Wagons these CLC coaches are almost identical to those used on the GCR, and and LNER and even works vans in BR days. The only difference is the beading at the end of the carriages is squared off, unlike these that follow the roof line, that and the addition of Torpedo Vents on the roof. So I may do a variation to sort that as well as would make sense! I also intend to model some LD&ECR 6 wheelers Linny kindly sent me drawings of, which would have run on the GCR. I should mention I have had to take liberties with the axle boxes and used GCR ones as I haven't been able to find any photographic evidence of these carriages what so ever.
  24. Thanks Richard for the kind words, and I have spoken to Din he is quite close to getting it organised all being well, lots of hard work gone into it all by all accounts.
  25. Cheshire Lines 6 wheeled coaches of 1877-9 built by the MS&LR First, Brake Third, Full Brake, and Luggage Composite Coaches. A special thank you to Andy Hayter for helping with the drawings on these elusive coaches, and for the details much appreciated, i'm looking forward to test printing these in the Spring in 7mm all being well and painting up in Teak
