  1. Give it a bit of drain unblocking. Log out, clear any RMweb cookies from the browser, clear RMweb browsing history and log in afresh.
  2. That's the S7 hardliners; they grind flanges rather than axes.
  3. GCHQ will be sending a black chopper to pick you in 30 minutes.
  4. It does; but it's not a surprise to me in many ways as I'm able to say Richard is a friend as much as an industry contact. Many of our chats were outside work hours and not always about work or industry topics be it late night text message exchanges, Sunday or Bank Holiday chats, chats from all around the globe. Always exploratory and innovative with disarming honesty and frankness about matters, any conversation or meeting was memorable with tremendous likeability and the capacity to discuss alternative viewpoints without it ever being a disagreement. I respect who he is as much as what he achieved.
  5. Why? Is anything stopping you sending me a message (I detest the phrase 'inbox me') rather than asking me to send you a message?
  6. We have enough creepy and questionable people around who think they're cleverer than they actually are.
  7. There were always key points on journeys that you made sure you were hanging out of by the window for these moments. Seventies and Eighties Down the WCML on any excursion to the south coast and waiting at Mitre Bridge Junction to see if you'd got a 33 next. Approaching Colton Junction Challoners Whin from Church Fenton to spot the first Deltic of the day. Coming off the curve at Didcot to see the first HSTs of the day.
  8. Apologies; that was the inference I'd been left with - as well as making it roundy-roundy.
  9. It was taken on by the Alex half of Cavalex and is in the process of being re-gauged so don't hold your breath! 😁
  10. My thanks to Accurascale for placing the decorated samples into our hands so soon after announcement to review. Overall I'm delighted with the tweaks that @Islesy brought to the decoration design process to give the tatty hand-painted style. However, when I set out the original artwork I'd just used the standard light grey which means there's less contrast between the base coat and the white lettering. That may have been the original livery but, as we know, minerals changed to every shade of grey but normally darker after a life of exposed to dust and muck which is where I'd like to be with a base colour which means that the wagons look different from the standard releases more akin to their end-of-life next trip to the smelter as a base for modellers to individually weather accordingly. So, the production runner will be a darker shade based of British Standard Dark Admiralty Grey (BS381C-632). You can still reserve your set of three wagons here https://worldofrailways.hooluh.co.uk/limited-edition-accurascale-16t-mineral-british-steel-scrap-wagons-oo-74-95-pre-order-25-deposit for a £25 deposit.
  11. Some felt the Molecular Integrity Longevity Fix was worthwhile.
  12. Bachmann do seem to have the spares available for it - https://bachmann-spares.co.uk/product/category/709/class-24--handrail-packs---cab%2bfront-door-grey-plastic--32-400/e3240-mis-01 I've broken enough over the years.
  13. I'm bad. 😇 The last line of my review... "The other, mischievous, thought that I was left with after reviewing this, in an age where there are multiple manufacturers of several diesel classes is – would another OO model of a Black Five be viable? If there’s a list you could add me to it."
  14. What an absolutely stunning model Ellis; well done to you and the team. It oozes quality. Reviewing it for BRM at the mo; I got a bit humpy about Hornby's brightwork on the 2MT but it's absolutely superb on this.
  15. How far do you want to go? For a model manufacturer to tell you what third-party controllers will or will not be able to control whatever functions on third-party decoders? That's the responsibility of the customer to research too. The current definitions are understood sufficiently well and consistently used across all manufacturers so they don't need redefining because you have misunderstood; you're extrapolating your opinion onto the rest of the hobby.
  16. Yes, it means you can plug a decoder in. Oven-ready meals? Are they ready to eat? Race-ready car? Does it include a driver?
  17. Given you are not too far away I'd recommend a trip over to Model Railway Solutions and have a chat and look at the quality. A great team and an excellent shop so you'll leave with other stuff too.
  18. It's back with the app developers as an install on Friday brought the síte crashing down. We obviously have a different definition of 'fixed'. But Sunday is never the best day to ask.
  19. It certainly does if, as manufacturer, your customers are buying mainly sound/fitted products but maybe not so if your customer base are those who are DCC unfriendly (normally trad steam) who would think you'd fleeced them of a tenner. ;)
