  1. There is no snow forecast. It may be windy on Sunday but enough of Stand C16-18.
  2. I've just done some quick measurements on Google Maps and the area used this year is virtually 50% of the size of Warley. I can't find anything with Stychfields Hall on to compare but it must be 8x the size of Weston Road school too. About the same size as Ally Pally and bigger than Doncaster. About the same area as 6.4 Olympic-sized swimming pools using Standard British Media Measurements or almost 10 London Buses. 🤨
  3. Yes. There is a factor missing and, to me, it's evident that there's a brand and people here that a number of people like to like whereas, elsewhere, there are some brands and people that love to dislike. There is also the fact that there are models out there that don't have any problems or minor issues that some are prepared to accept or rectify. I am satisfied with mine and, maybe like others, continuing to repeat, or summarise, any issues is unnecessary. Rapido have said that there are models that don't meet their and customer's expectations and that people should make contact directly with them to give them the opportunity to rectify any issues.
  4. They've not thought that through at all. Where's the beer being kept?
  5. @ELTEL hijacked Stafford FM this morning to talk about the exhibition and Stafford Railway Circle. Hit the play button. TCR_StaffordFM.m4a
  6. Thanks to @ELTEL we have a copy of the floorplan and the list of layouts and traders so you can plan your day.
  7. I'll pass that sensible suggestion onto the SVR.
  8. Was there any other stock you'd rather be on on a day like this?
  9. That's stunning. Everything was so rock steady I though the Cat was mounted on the board until seeing the last seconds.
  10. I have decluttered the topic, chucked influencers and politics in the bin and feng shueyed the rivets for some good karma man.
  11. Steak and Kidney $3 in St. Vincent, Beef and Onion $2.50 in Barbados and Chicken and Mushroom a surprising $1.50 in Cuba. The Pie-rates of the Caribbean.
  12. As appealing as a bacon sandwich on Sunday morning.
  13. "Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten".
  14. I was away for a lot of last week but read enough to be concerned about the topic content, particularly when it seemed to have a hint of competitive disappointment to the extent that I removed a, frankly over the top and unpleasant, post from someone who's hardly been around here for years. I completed a review before going away finding mine to be excellent; with this and Accurascale's Manor we've had two of the best GW/BR(W) models for 4mm seen to date. There was a bit of a waddle on my extremely sensitive rolling road which did not translate into anything untoward on track. In fact there's only been two steam models in years that haven't exhibited something being out of true on it. I accept some users may have an issue but would urge them to run the model in as per the instructions and base a judgment on how it performs in a real world scenario, not just off the track. If a user has a cosmetic defect issue that's fair enough and as with any running issue the correct communication for warranty issues should be used rather than the competitive criticism challenge on here. I even read people who haven't got one passing judgement on a model they not received yet. The Rapido team are good folk, modellers the same as us, and I know they are keen, ready and waiting to assist anyone with an issue with the people, parts, products, skills and will to help people enjoy a good model. I'm sure some of the comments will have been taken to heart but also some that are less soundly-based will have caused frustration at very least. Give them the opportunity to do what they wish to do in resolving any issues.
  15. That's not correct with regard to Bachmann items. 1. All consumer purchases are covered by the Consumer Rights Act which creates a contract between the consumer and the retailer (Bachmann is not the retailer as they don’t sell direct, unless the item is a club product purchased by a Club member) and therefore any issues should be handled via the retailer from whom the item was purchased. 2. In the case of Bachmann products, a 12 month warranty is applicable to new items and under the terms of the warranty, items can be returned at no cost via the retailer for rectification. Consumers may alternatively choose to send items directly to Bachmann for repair under warranty, however that is at their own cost. 3. In the case of Bachmann Collectors Club purchases, where Bachmann Collectors Club is the retailer, free collections are provided by Bachmann Collectors Club for damaged or faulty items purchased from the Club.
  16. Start with something sensible like the LNER Garratt; the box would be big enough for a decent burial when the other half finds out.
  17. A little further information in the full article attached below. spread_42 (2).pdf spread_44.pdf
  18. Welcome! The Slaters sheets would need backing to bring the level up, Wills are hard work to cut (comparatively). However, I'd ask if you really want paving as, apart from town pavements, in your era there would be an increasing amount of tarmac pavement which can be achieved with Fab Foam edged with plastic strip for kerbing. https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/techniques/top-tips-on-how-to-model-roads-and-road-markings/
  19. I can't blame him for it, he's just fed a script from researchers and producers; he may not even be seeing the edited video whilst doing so.
