  1. Faces that only mothers could love. ;) I assume, in N particularly, that you need a re-railer to get the things on the track?
  2. They'll probably be on the shelves around the same time, maybe separated by a few weeks at most. The Quarry Hunslets are on their way at the mo.
  3. Which layout was this please John? I'd like to go back and look at it again.
  4. You've broken the internet Rick! Seems ok for me, would you know if you've had a browser update? If so, which browser? Try clearing any RMweb cookies and history and login again.
  5. They shouldn't have but if you spot anything specific do let me know.
  6. It's the content I'm most interested in, the overseas exhibitors that you don't get to see elsewhere; they're regularly the most talked about layouts after the show (at least by the enlightened folk).
  7. They're busy Lubricating Ireland. Please return to the subject matter.
  8. He's not a physical conventional shop. He is a 'webstore' trading over the internet; he is taking customers' money and not delivering. Your post excuses nothing and is no defence. He doesn't want to trade transparently, he doesn't want to give good service, he doesn't want to be accountable, he doesn't want the trouble of dealing with people. The kindest thing anyone could do (for him) is not cause him any inconvenience by trying to buy from him.
  9. I'd best nip down the studio and take some proper pics for the BRM review but I couldn't resist a phone snap. First impressions? Wow! I do like the brass effect for the dome probably the best I've seen on any RTR product.

  11. As part of their Winter 2022 British Railway Announcements, Bachmann present this LSWR Cross Country Coach Pack. Using new tooling developed for the EFE Rail range, each three-coach pack comprises two Brake Thirds and a Composite coach. Presented as a book set, the three vehicles are numbered accordingly to create an authentic coach set, with set numbers applied to the brake end of each Brake Third vehicle. With an abundance of detail, including separately fitted roof ventilators, handrails, grab handles and underframe components, this coach pack will make a fine addition to any collection. History of the LSWR / SR Cross Country Sets Constructed between 1906 and 1910, by the London South Western Railway, there were 36 sets formed wholly of non-corridor 56ft vehicles. These sets were generically called 'Cross County Sets'. They were introduced originally as four coach sets. These sets comprised of the following: Brake Thirds, four compartment to LSWR Drawing 1446, SR diagram 124, two per set. Composite (First / Third class), seven compartment to LSWR Drawing 1298, SR Diagram 274. Third, eight compartment to LSWR Drawing 1302, SR Diagram 17. The all Thirds were originally introduced as Second / Third Composites but rebranded to all Thirds with no structural change by the end of 1919. Not all the original LSWR set numbers are recorded, although it is known some were numbered between 60 to 69. The Southern Railway numbered the sets in the ranges 130-151, 253-263 and 311-314 (sets 311-314 were originally introduced as 6 coach sets but became four coach formations in 1934 (and subsequently 3 coach sets). All sets were reduced to three coaches in the mid to late 1930s, by the removal of the Diagram 17 Third coaches. These became loose stock. At the same time the number of first class compartments, in the Diagram 274 Composite, were reduced from five to three (not a physical alteration, just reclassification and change in class branding on the outside of the compartments). Despite the longevity of these sets, apart from the reduction from 4 to 3 coaches and the reclassification of some of the composite compartments, there was no real physical changes to any of the coaches The cross country sets could be seen all over the South West section of the Southern Railway / Region and their duties were pretty well interchangeable with any other three or four coach set. Withdrawal of these sets was completed during 1956/7, following department use, Brake Third number 2975 (ex set 146) survives and is operational service on the Bluebell Railway as LSWR 1520, known to be part of set 63, and Composite number 5065 (ex set 134) survives on the Kent and East Sussex Railway awaiting restoration. 12. BACHMANN NARROW GAUGE – OO9 SCALE MAINLINE HUNSLET SPECIFICATION The Mainline Hunslet is the latest addition to Bachmann Europe’s award-winning Bachmann Narrow Gauge range and is the perfect model with which to follow the brand’s award-winning Double Fairlie locomotives released in 2021. The ‘Ladies’, Linda and Blanche, are well known members of the Ffestiniog Railway fleet where they work alongside the Double Fairlies, however these Bachmann Narrow Gauge models depict the Mainline Hunslets during their working lives when they were employed on the Penrhyn Quarry Railway in North Wales. A Class of just three locomotives, each of the Mainline Hunslets can now be modelled faithfully at various points during their working lives thanks to our versatile tooling suite. Incorporating the highest levels of detail to produce a model of supreme fidelity, each model is brought to life with an exquisite livery application using the latest paint application techniques for the most authentic of finishes. These small but mighty models feature a diecast metal saddle tank, cylinder block, frames and footplate; coupled with a precision moulded cab, smokebox and other separate detail components to produce a model that is strong and robust yet intricately detailed. The cab interior is a work of art and behind the hinged, posable firebox door, firebox lighting is fitted, a first for Bachmann Narrow Gauge. With a Next18 DCC decoder socket and a pre-fitted speaker it’s easy to convert the Mainline Hunslet to DCC running – but it’s easier still to opt for a SOUND FITTED model and enjoy the added dimension of sound on both analogue control and DCC straight out of the box. MECHANISM:  Coreless motor with flywheel  Electrical pickup from all wheels  Separate metal bearings fitted to each axle  Diecast metal chassis block  9mm (OO9 narrow gauge) wheels to NEM310 standards with authentic profile and detailing  Coupling pockets to NEM355 standards fitted to each bogie, into which a standard OO9 coupling hook assembly is fitted (hook and loop coupling also supplied for optional fitting)  Designed to operate on curves of first radius (228.6mm) or greater DETAILING:  Diecast metal cylinder block, frames, footplate and saddle tank  Precision moulded plastic smokebox and cab  Highly detailed and decorated cab interior including separately fitted regulator, reverser leaver, handbrake, and gauge frames and hinged firebox door which can be posed open/closed  Separately applied details including reverser, injectors, handrails, smokebox dart, whistle and tool brackets (where applicable)  Each model supplied with a set of authentically decorated etched name plates and works plates Lighting:  Firebox Glow (on analogue) / Firebox Glow & Flicker (on DCC or when SOUND FITTED models are used on analogue) DCC:  Next18 DCC decoder interface SOUND:  Speaker installed in all models for optimum sound reproduction  Zimo MX659N18 DCC Sound Decoder fitted to SOUND FITTED versions  Sound files produced specifically for the Bachmann Narrow Gauge Mainline Hunslet using recordings from real locomotives  SOUND FITTED models operate on DCC and Analogue control as supplied LIVERY APPLICATION:  Authentic liveries applied to all models  Multiple paint applications employed on each model  Logos, numerals and text added as appropriate using multi-stage tampo printing incorporating authentic typefaces, logos and colours ITEM NO. 13. NEW MODELS ACROSS THE RANGES IN BACHMANN EUROPE’S WINTER 2022 BRITISH RAILWAY ANNOUNCEMENTS Bachmann Europe Plc today presented its final British Railway Announcements of 2022 with new products unveiled for all of Bachmann’s British-outline railway ranges. With more than a dozen new tooling or product upgrade projects already delivered during 2022, the Winter British Railway Announcements sees a trio of new tooling projects unveiled for delivery this year, along with further product upgrades and new liveries for existing models from Bachmann Branchline and Graham Farish. With the years new announcements dominated by OO and N scale, OO9 takes centre stage this Winter thanks to the Bachmann Narrow Gauge range and the introduction of the Mainline Hunslet locomotives. Depicting the trio of locomotives built for the Penrhyn Quarry Railway in North Wales, these large 0-4-0 saddle tanks build on the success of the award-winning Bachmann Narrow Gauge Double Fairlies first released twelve months ago. Charles, Linda and Blanche are all modelled faithfully, with locomotive- and era-specific detailing and liveries to capture each prototype authentically in miniature. Constructed with a diecast metal saddle tank, cylinder block, frames, footplate and chassis block, these powerful models are driven by a coreless motor and flywheel with all-wheel pick up, separate metal bearings on each axle and a Next18 DCC decoder socket with pre-fitted speaker. A new feature for OO9 scale is the firebox lighting which can be enjoyed when the separately fitted, hinged firebox door is posed in the open position. The three models will be available this November in standard or SOUND FITTED format. Bachmann Mainline Hunslet Topic. The Narrow Gauge theme continues in the Scenecraft range where the Ffestiniog Railway’s famous Harbour Station at Porthmadog is replicated in 4mm scale. The trio of buildings is available in two colour schemes. The Scenecraft range of finely detailed, hand-painted models is expanded with new N, OO and O scale releases too, with ‘Aidensfield Garage’ from the hit TV period drama ‘Heartbeat’ a highlight of the new N scale models. The Graham Farish N scale range welcomes new diesel locomotives this Winter with two Class 20s depicting No. 20064 ‘River Sheaf’ and No. 20172 ‘Redmire’. Class 31 No. 31309 ‘Cricklewood’ is also announced, whilst a quartet of Refurbished Class 31s makes up the latest round of Sales Area Exclusive models, each offered with our without SOUND FITTED and available only from retailers within specific areas of the country. Farish Winter 2022 Announcement topic. In OO scale the Bachmann Branchline Western Pullman has been produced in a new Train Pack. Featuring two SOUND FITTED power cars, the model accurately depicts one of the former Midland Pullman six-car units following their transfer to the Western Region. New liveries are seen on no fewer than four steam locomotive types, with the WD Austerity and BR Standard 9F both offered with SOUND FITTED for the first time – the latter having undergone upgrades to incorporate a Plux22 DCC decoder socket and a pre-fitted speaker to facilitate this. New liveries are introduced for the Class 158 DMUs, whilst a range of BR Maroon-liveried LNER Thompson Coaches is also arriving this Winter. New tooling has been created for Bachmann’s EFE Rail range; building on the success of the EFE Rail OO scale ‘Gate Stock’ coaches new LSWR Cross Country coaches have been developed and these will be offered in book sets. Each book set comprises three coaches and three liveries will be available. The third and final new tooling for this British Railway Announcements comes in the form of the OO scale ZCA ‘Sea Urchin’ Open Wagon, again from EFE Rail. Completing the line-up of new items for Winter 2022 are four new additions to Bachmann Europe’s Thomas & FriendsTM range including Edward the Blue Engine and Henry the Green Engine. Moving away from the tracks and Harold the Helicopter and Bertie the Bus are also new and arriving in time for Christmas 2022. Like all Bachmann products, these new items can only be purchased from Bachmann stockists, with the first release from the Winter 2022 British Railway Announcements due to arrive with stockists in the next two weeks. 14. TRIO OF NEW MODELS UNVEILED BY BACHMANN COLLECTORS CLUB After N and OO scale models of Class 08 Diesel Shunter ‘Molly’ were launched at the Bachmann Collectors Club Members Day in September, three further Limited Edition models were today unveiled by the Bachmann Collectors Club during Bachmann Europe’s Winter 2022 British Railway Announcements. In OO scale the award-winning, all-new Class 47 from Bachmann Branchline forms the basis of a Bachmann Collectors Club Limited Edition release for the first time. Offered in Virgin Trains livery as No. 47845 ‘County of Kent’, this Class 47 is available in standard, SOUND FITTED and SOUND FITTED DELUXE format. The SOUND FITTED model is fitted with a ESU V5DCC Sound Decoder, whilst the same is present in the SOUND FITTED DELUXE version which also sports motorised radiator fans and authentic tinted windscreen glazing. Pricing starts at £239.95 for the standard model, £339.95 for SOUND FITTED and £369.95 for SOUND FITTED DELUXE. The new ‘Dance Hall’ Brake Van from Bachmann Branchline is now available as BR Crane Mess Van No. DS55466 in its distinctive livery of BR Departmental Olive Green with Yellow wrap-around ends. A reprieve in departmental use following withdrawal from revenue earning service ensured this example would be the final ‘Dance Hall’ of its type in use on the national network before it finally succumbed in 1989, thankfully being later saved for preservation. The Bachmann Collectors Club Limited Edition is available now and is priced at £49.95. For N scale the Graham Farish BR Mk1 BG has been produced in the attractive Maroon and Cream colour scheme of Northern Belle. Depicting No. 92094 which runs on B4 bogies and serves to provide storage for passengers’ luggage on the luxury Northern Belle train, this Bachmann Collectors Club model is priced at £45.95. All of these items are in stock now and ready to ready to purchase. Bachmann Collectors Club members can place their orders online via www.bachmann-collectorsclub.co.uk. New members can also join online and purchase from the growing range of Club exclusive models straight away. Orders and membership enquiries can also be made by telephone on 01455 245565.

  18. It's been previously said that the sets won't be here for Xmas unless they airfreight some over.
  19. Oh give me strength, we haven't the first products yet. Just no
  20. That may be your opinion, it's not a fact. Anyway, I would disagree.
  21. Really Les? Such comments would only serve to foster factionalism (where there is little) and make that a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's as bad as gauge wars, kettles v diesels and other juvenile battlegrounds.
  22. BACHMANN DONATES TO THE POPPY LINE FOLLOWING SCENECRAFT SUCCESS On Tuesday 18th October 2022 Bachmann Europe visited the North Norfolk Railway to present the heritage outfit with a cheque for £1,000. The donation was accepted by the railway’s Managing Director, Hugh Harkett, and follows the release of Bachmann’s OO scale Scenecraft models depicting Weybourne Road Bridge (item No. 44-0072) and the Weybourne Water Crane & Tank (44-0073). The subjects of each model can be found at the North Norfolk Railway’s intermediate station of Weybourne, which is famed for its starring role in the TV sit-com Dad’s Army, and now houses the line’s engineering workshops and running sheds. Both Bachmann Scenecraft models were released in recent years and follow similar successful models based on buildings and structures found at other preserved railways. Whilst the Water Crane and Tank remains part of the current Scenecraft range, the Road Bridge has now been discontinued although examples may still be found in stock with Bachmann retailers. David Haarhaus, Managing Director of Bachmann Europe said of the occasion: “Bachmann enjoys thriving relationships with many preserved railways and heritage sites and we cannot underestimate their importance. Not only do they provide some fine subjects for our models, as is the case here with the Scenecraft models based on these structures at Weybourne, but they do so much to inspire and nurture the next generation of enthusiast. Those new enthusiasts may well become Bachmann consumers in the future, but more importantly, they will most certainly have a part to play in the continued success and prosperity of our remarkable heritage sector.”
  23. Right; we've decided - we won't bother posting pictures which give useful information. All you lot want to do is argue whether is a good concept or not. 🤬 Wind it in a bit, eh?
  24. Thanks to Phil for some of the most informative pics I have seen so far.
