  1. I thought your Gold had lapsed? At least you'd said on here you weren't renewing. Anyway, I've restored it now pending further checks when I'm back on the system.
  2. It depends how you define 'specialist' but there is http://www.salopianmodels.com/ Telford is a gap though but many from there go to Topp Trains in Stafford.
  3. Absolutely! It's cos you bribe them with Mrs B's baking!
  4. You seem to be making your own mind up (and the list does not ask a question but says what you think) but... a) You won't get Google Ads or Pop-up videos (apart from some sponsored subforums which are awaiting a fix but I've said that countless times anyway). b) I must have missed that management meeting as I went to the one which said the renewal cost would remain the same for the rate anyone signs up at - including the special £4.99 World of Railways plus/RMweb Gold offer we are running at the moment. We are doing quite well thank you and having had reason to help a customer on Facebook who was having access issues and encountered some monumental pillocks who seem to have their own difficulties with their own relationships with truth and fact in the same way as your comments above. Frankly the two environments are completely different and, let's just, say different in quality of comment.
  5. Thank you Phil; just blinged yo up and changed your email so they correspond as the one on here was an old one.
  6. It gets awfully busy under Essex Bridge some nights. 😄
  7. No-one I've ever met and I've lived within 5 miles of it for the last 30 years. Some posh sorts do say Shoeborough though.
  8. I've honestly never heard it pronounced such - probably because us Midlanders like to make it sound like we went somewhere posh.
  9. Newton Chambers Car Transporter joins HELJAN ‘OO’ Collection HELJAN’s range of high-quality ‘OO’ gauge rolling stock will expand in early-2023 with the release of six coach packs featuring the stylish double-deck car transporters built by Newton Chambers for BR Eastern Region in 1960/61. Visitors to the Warley National Model Railway Exhibition at the NEC this weekend will be the first to see factory-decorated samples of the new models. Featuring a high specification and fine detail throughout, the vehicles will be offered in matching triple packs in BR Lined Maroon and BR ‘Motorail’ Blue/Grey covering their entire 25-year career. Close attention to detail means that vehicles will feature either the original or revised pattern of fibreglass roof lights plus vacuum brake/steam heat and dual brake/dual heating vehicles with the Electric Train Heat (ETH) and air brake equipment added to several car transporters towards the end of their life. Fine details include separately fitted handbrake wheels, end door details, air pipes, etched train ferry lashing eyes, steam heat, vacuum brake and ETH equipment. NEM couplers and sprung buffers are fitted as standard. Suggested Retail Price (SRP) for the high-quality presentation packs is £229.00. Originally designated as TCVs, the vehicles later became NVV (vacuum braked) and NVX (dual braked) under BR’s TOPS computer system. Unusually, they featured a hydraulically operated central well capable of storing two cars as well as four cars on the upper deck – a 50% increase in capacity over more conventional car carrying vehicles of the time. When introduced in the early-1960s, the TCV car transporters were used between London, York and Edinburgh in sets of five or six vehicles with a handful of BR maroon Mk1 coaches, hauled by ex-LNER ‘Pacifics’ and later BR green ‘Deltics’, Class 40s, 45s, 46s or 47s. From the late-1960s onwards, they were painted in BR blue/grey and started to venture further afield on ‘Motorail’ services from London and northern England to the West of England, being hauled by Class 45s, 46s, 47s and ‘Westerns’. However, they were closely associated with the East Coast Main Line throughout their career. #9620 EASTERN REGION CAR TRANSPORTER PACK 1: BR Lined Maroon E96288/289/290E #9621 EASTERN REGION CAR TRANSPORTER PACK 2: BR Lined Maroon E96286/293/297E #9622 EASTERN REGION CAR TRANSPORTER PACK 3: BR Lined Maroon E96287/291/294E #9623 BR MOTORAIL PACK 1: BR Blue/Grey TCV E96290/297/298E #9624 BR MOTORAIL PACK 2: BR Blue/Grey NVX E96291/294/299E #9625 BR MOTORAIL PACK 3: BR Blue/Grey NVV E96288/289/293E WEATHERED Factory decorated prototypes are now in the UK for review and we expect production to start in early-2023 with the first batch of car transporters due in shops in Spring 2023. Look out for further updates on all these new models here and on our Facebook page over the coming months!
  10. It should have done but I'll reconcile it when I sort your gold bits in the morning; thank you!
  11. Your call of course but you've had 15 years usage and over 2,700 posts. Obviously I don't know how much time you spend here and the value that you place on it but I wouldn't say the cost of Premium is that prohibitive if you want an ad-free experience. A pound a month, barely more than thrupence a day. I recognise that, especially these days, we have to give good value and, no, I'm not going to work for nothing.
  12. When you've gone to the trouble of sending me lengthy, waffling brain dumps of such interest it's always a pleasure!
  13. I don't get to say it anywhere near enough and when I do it's normally on an individual basis but I think it's fair to acknowledge so many positives about life here. Thank you to: Everyone who's a member who has allowed us to feature their work in the pages of BRM producing, I believe, some of the finest layouts to go on the page plus some great practical features. Everyone who creates so much great content on the pages of RMweb; layouts, practicals, prototype phots and the list would go on. Everyone who gives so much positive support for those who post the material. Those who helped to oil the machinery in early years in helping fund the site to enable it to continue and grow. Everyone who supports RMweb and Warners with the range of products we offer - your custom is genuinely appreciated. The manufacturers and trade who provide helpful information and solutions to the readers. Those who flag up any potential issues on here that can then be addressed and keep the place a better environment for all. Everyone who gives so much positive support for those who post the material. Everyone who's organised and supported member-led events such as Taunton SWAG - over the years it's raised thousands for charities. Everyone who joined in our fundraiser for NHS Charities together raising just under £8,000 in the depths of the first lockdown. The folk who send me encouraging messages, biscuits and bars of chocolate (you know who you are) - I'm sure it's just to keep me motivated. People who talk to us at shows and tell us what their up to; not just our shows but pretty much any event that Phil or I go to. The colleagues who helped bear a share of my workload when I've been under the weather at times this year. Everyone who lends a bit of moral support when something's broken. Everyone who's been in touch, especially over the last two difficult years, to say what the site means to them. Everyone who accepts that s*** happens occasionally such as the unfortunate image loss earlier this year. Everyone who reads the site, even lurking around too hesitant to post. I'm sure there are many more categories but it's just what initially came to mind. So, some days it may feel like it's a battleground but underneath it all, every day of the year, there are some awfully nice, sensible, witty and intelligent people who keep us all company. The rest? Well, we can't all be charming can we? ;)
  14. Earlier in the week I didn't know I'd get this pushed through! Give subs a call on 01778 392002 and see if they can reverse the Premium if you explain - I've hung some gold round your neck anyway.
  15. Just been looking at the images; oh my word, it's stunning.
  16. Depends whether it's innovation or replication. Depends whether it's an emerging business or a traditional one.
  17. Worth a try; I've held a manual medal ceremony for you. Not many came.
  18. Ooh good; a willing guinea pig! Could you try running the integration script again please http://www.rmweb.uk/rmweb-integration.php and see if it re-classifies you as Gold? If not I can manually change that - not that it means any material difference on here other than the colour of your gong. The video ads are still a work in progress but I've been sticking twigs in ants nest again this morning.
  19. From previous experience it may be worth seeing if you can tether to your mobile as a backup as there's been times when you get dumped off the WiFI - normal mobile signal is normally pretty good.
