  1. Have you tried A and H Models the U.K. Distributor? http://www.aandhmodels.co.uk
  2. The talk is on 'Cambridge area - then and now - Part 2' by David Scudamore. There is limited car parking.
  3. The 7 plank wagon is most likely to be for coal. Limestone has a density of 163 lb per cubic foot compared to 84 lb per cubic foot for bituminous coal, these are solid values. This translates to 24 tons for a full limestone load compared to 12 tons for coal. Hence why limestone wagons have fewer planks. Some years ago BR used redundant 16ton steel coal wagons for loading with spent ballast. They were loaded until full and promptly sat on their springs! The answer was to cut holes in the sides at the fill level. See: http://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/brmineralwestinghouse/e279563a2
  4. Some railway titles have been reduced. Bodmin and Wadebridge Railway is now £25 post free. See: http://www.twelveheads.com/toffers2017a.htm
  5. Shown as available on the Twelveheads Press website. http://www.twelveheads.com/t925.htm
  6. A good example of cattle docks can be seen in Welshpool near to the railway station, see: https://flic.kr/p/wFhPJR Note how thin the tubular rods are. I did photograph these docks and I will see if I can find them.
  7. See this topic: Shrewsbury stabling point 1970's. Several photos of the 1980s. I tried to work out how to link to this topic but failed, any help appreciated.
  8. Yes, Barmouth. The building behind the train is (not the goods shed) separate from the main station buildings . See http://www.rail-online.co.uk/p61370949/h497782f6#h497782f6. Also note the Foxfield Colliery wagon from the Staffordshire Coalfield. In the background can be seen the footbridge. As to date...
  9. The GWR Northern and Central Wales Divisions July 10th, 1922 and ufn gives the following for the Bala-Blaenau Festiniog Branch: Set no. 46 brake third, compo, third, brake third Set no. 47 brake third, compo, third, brake third Nos. 46 & 47 to be changed at Blaenau Festiniog daily. Set no. 48 Workmen's Train 4 workmen's 3rds, 1 ordinary 3rd, 2 brake thirds between Trawsfynydd and Blaenau Festiniog Are there 2 trains in the same platform?
  10. Chris You need Carriage Working Programmes for the Northern and Central Wales Divisions. I am happy to be proved wrong but they are not common. I know of only 2 GWR Northern Division ones, one from 1922 and the other for 1945. The 1922 one does not distinguish between 4 and 6 wheel coaches but highlights bogie coaches and corridor vehicles.
  11. Whilst not a detailed recollection I saw all of the Swindon and North British Warships on the North and West route.
  12. Any details of ange of view, camera settings etc. Thanks
  13. There are 2 photographs taken at Llanymynech of the Llanfyllin branch train consisting of a 58XX, 0-4-2T and a B set. They are about 2-3 years apart in the mid 1930s. In the earlier photograph the coaches are pristine, roll forward and they are decidedly dirty to the extent that the cream is almost obscured.
  14. Found this drawing: https://www.martynbane.co.uk/peckett/drawings/reversera.html
  15. The Summer 1939 PLA Working of Vans lists: No. 18 Van, Kingsbridge to Newton Abbot. (Saturdays, July 8th to Sept. 16th) Sats only July 8th to September 16th 9-25 p.m. Kingsbridge to Brent 9-59 p.m. Brent 10. 4 p.m. to Newton Abbot 10-29 p.m. Traffic transferred at Newton Abbot to the 7-20 p.m. PLA train Penzance to Paddington. Looking at the composition of the 7-20 p.m. PLA train Penzance to Paddington traffic transferred at Newton Abbot means the van was emptied and then loaded on to the 7-20 p.m. train. There is no corresponding down working. This seems more confusing than helpful!
  16. This is an extract from the Summer 1939 local cwp. Unfortunately when first uploaded it has cut the rhs!
  17. The background to the number plate could be red as the film has recorded it as a lighter shade than the bunker.
  18. Try this web site: http://www.roscalen.com/signals/Shrewsbury/index.htm
  19. Looking at the upside view photograph what clearance is there for converting to EM and/or P4? The distance between the inside edge of the splashers does not look sufficient. What is this measurement? I notice the axles appear to be 2mm diameter.
  20. Congratulations in registering as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
  21. Pwllheli also stood out for me. The back scene is a work of art and blends perfectly with the buildings in front of it.
  22. Try contacting Richard Evans, camkits4u@gmail.com.

  24. And I have been asking for more years than I can remember... Good to know it may be soon!
  25. This problem still exists today, 2nd March 2017, as a friend was unable to book 2 tickets this morning. After going round in circles which included a call to Warners he is awaiting a call from the Ticket Factory! Alan
