  1. Hi All, Hornby have recently introduced a couple of breakdown coaches in the traditional all over yellow Livery. I am curious to know how they compare to the Bachmann equivalents with regard to colour (always subjective I know) & specification (blanked off windows etc). so given the choice, which versions would you chose?
  2. Hi All, Has anyone paired these Hornby 'Inter City' swallow livery coaches behind a Bachmann 47 of a similar livery. I would be curious to see this with regard to the colour match. I realise in the real world, weathering would tone down the colours & also not all the liveries applied to different vehicles were an exact match. Still curious to see these side by side mind.....
  3. Hi All, Thought I would share with you a recent experience I had with Kernow. I was on line Thursday evening & spotted a couple of items in their May Sale & duly ordered these. NB - Well worth a look if you haven't already. Saturday morning there was a knock at our front door & it was the postman with a parcel for me. So I just wanted to say 'well done Kernow' & tthank you. Usual disclaimer applies....
  4. Apologies Hilux5972 i have just read Ribird post for the 1942 variant later on. I was responding to the original post from Garry. sorry for any confusion.
  5. Hi Hilux5972, Thanks for the feedback. Reading Garry’s original post he said ‘around 1970’s - 1980’s’. I know the BR green was more applicable to the 1960’s & the Hornby weathered version was based on 1963 (so still a little out of the requested time line). A little modellers license could always be applied if the inclination took him....
  6. Hi All, I have arrived late to this discussion. What about the Flying Scotsman in BR green? i know the one shown below is era 11 (& I am unsure when the German smoke deflectors were fitted, but I am sure someone on here can advise). Removal of the warning flashes would of course have to be done to make a potential candidate if you are flexible on the double chimney etc. Unless of course Hornby have provided this previously in a 1960's condition - I recall a weathered version a few years back.....
  7. Bought a few of these Dutch Liveried versions earlier in the week from Kerry at Invicta Models in Sidcup - well worth a visit if you are in the area. I have to say these wagons do look very nice indeed & with a bit of weathering will come up a treat. Looking to source some 'stones' around 20mm in size to represent loads seen in the 1990's. Once I get these finished I will post some images here.
  8. Hi All, Thanks for your help RBE. Here is the video. Enjoy.
  9. Hi All, I have made a very short video showing the excellent Redland PGA's in a 'weathered' condition using my IPhone, however I am having problems uploading this. PS - It is only 10 seconds in duration. Any ideas?
  10. HI All, Attached image showing some of my now weathered Redland PGA's. Enjoy.
  11. Hi All, Anyone tried sourcing the Hornby R8103 TTS sound Decoder for the class 47 recently? These are ideal for installation on the Bachmann class 47's, however, these now appear rarer than hens teeth! Hope Hornby do a re-run of these.
  12. A good spot. Just testing to make sure you were awake. Ha ha.
  13. Fresh from the paint shop, the Redland PGA hoppers enter service behind a Construction sub-sector class 60 'Brecon Beacons' on a southbound traffic.
  14. Hi All, My Redland wagons arrived also & superb they look too. Many thanks Gents.
  15. Military manoeuvres.... (as requested). Enjoy.
  16. Same here.Really looking forward to these....
  17. Hi all, I have attached an image of my Hatton's Warwells complete with Warrior loads. Although these are 1/72 scale they fit nicely. I have not put or made any cradles for these tanks to sit on, but I believe Rule 1 applies......
  18. Fantastic news. Well done Hatton's. I think an earlier version with BR insignia is called for so I will be ordering one shortly. Now, while we are talking about Civil Engineering stock, what about a ballast tamper in 00 gauge....
  19. After much deliberation (well not too much actually as I have always been a sucker for a bargain) I have decided to purchase (invest?) in a number of the Bachmann Mk1 coaches in various liveries. Still waiting for these to arrive & eager to see them on my layout typically running behind a class 47 as I have plans for a charter train.....
  20. There is a brass kit available from PH Designs that once made represents the cradle for the Warrior. Alternatively you could scratch build as I recall there was an article in one of the trade magazines around the time of the launch of the Hatton's Warwell wagon.Hope this helps.
  21. Hi,Yes I can confirm on the scenic section of my layout I have made use of the new Peco Bullhead track. The fiddle yard which will be out of sight once I have completed the layout uses standard geometry Peco code 100 track. Regards,
  22. Hi All, Thought I would share an image from my layout showing the Peco Bullhead points now that I have finished ballasting. Still have to add a bit more detail & may also complete a tade more weathering to the track work to tone it down. Hope you enjoy.
  23. Hi All, Just in case anyone else has had the same problem, I had saved the link to your old website which is why I couldn't access the new updated website - Doh! Hope this helps.
