  1. Hi All, I have dug out an image from my visit to the Old Oak Common open day back in Aug 2000. This shows the Yeoman O. & K. Hopper in the revised livery. Just behind can be made out a PTA Tippler in Yeoman livery too. Apologies for the quality as it a photo of a photo.
  2. Hi All, So in answer to my own question, I have been doing some research which may help others. After the formation of Mendip Rail in 1993 with the amalgamation of Yeoman & ARC there was dialogue about rebranding. A decision was made in 1998 to introduce a new livery & subsequently three of the class 59's were painted in the new livery at Marcroft Engineerings facility at Stoke-on-Trent. I am therefore assuming the wagons would of been re-branded at a similar time (but quite happy to be corrected on this). Hope this helps.
  3. Hi All, Some clarification required..... With the pending launch of these Yeoman wagons I understand the original livery was 1988/9 but I am looking for clarification on when the later livery was introduced....
  4. Hi All, With the Dapol class 59 now set to be launched in Q2 2021, can anyone confirm when these hopper wagons will become available. Thanks.
  5. Hi, Have you checked the back to back's?
  6. Hi All, Talking of creating loads for the new BBA's, I produced a few more yesterday. Even thou I say so myself, I think they have turned well.
  7. Hi All, slighty of topic, earlier in the week I took this photo of 90 024 in the stunning Malcolm logistics livery. Thought I would share here. Enjoy.
  8. Hi All, This afternoon, I thought I would do some ‘proper modelling’ & create some loads for my recently acquired superb BBA’s. Using some prototype images as a guide, it hasn’t turned out too bad.
  9. Hi All, I received my BBA wagon earlier in the week & like many others have been truly blown away by the quality. A truly outstanding piece of miniature engineering worthy of recognition. Congratulations to Cavalex on another outstanding wagon to compliment the earlier realeased PGA. I look forward to further announcements. I have attached an image below from my running session this afternoon.
  10. Hi All, The versions I have (Including the recent addition above) are geared around era 8/9 . However, in this current batch there are other variants, suitable for the current period. These are sure to be popular as these haven’t been produced for some time - especially looking at inflated prices on a certain auction site.so I would suggest getting these ASAP as ‘once they are gone, they are gone!’. Hope this helps.
  11. Hi All, & finally...... Thought I would add a couple of photo’s with the wagon on my layout (so you get the full effect!).
  12. Hi All, An update on the Heljan 5017 weathered cargowaggon complete with graffiti. I can confirm that there is graffiti on both sides albeit less pronounced on one side. I have attached a second image showing the other side of the wagon.
  13. Hi All, Look what turned up today.... Thought I would post an image of the actual wagon here so people can make their own mind up. Weathering can be a very subjective and, for me, this version looks good & I am very happy with it. Please note the graffiti is only on one side. Hope this helps.
  14. Hi All, Some interesting announcements here. Apparently, there is no such thing as a stupid question, so here goes.... What does EFE stand for? Have I missed something?
  15. Hi All, i see on a well known auction site that these Bachmann S stock units are fetching eye watering prices. There was a recent article in the trade press about adding sound, but why are these now fetching a four figure sum? Discuss......
  16. Hi All, Having been 'wowed' by the PFA Cawood's wagons & my subsequent purchase earlier in the year, I have now invested in several packs of the superb Rugby cement PCA's. I have seen photo's of these being hauled by class 33 & class 73, but does anyone have any images of these wagons being hauled by any other class i.e. 31, 37, 47, 56 (or even class 60 but this maybe unrealistic looking at the introduction of these loco's & the re-livery of the wagons). Thanks in advance.
  17. Hi All, As a follow on from my previous message on Sunday concerning installing an older Hornby DCC chip in my recently purchased class 33,042 in weathered Constriction sub-sector livery. Well this evening I thought I would ‘give it a go’. The result? A resounding success for me!
  18. Hi All, Having just bought myself the weathered construction sub-sector class 33, I am going to 'chip this up'. The question I have to this very knowledgable group is....... I have an old Hornby 8 pin chip purchased a few years ago & when I added sound to one of my class 60's this became surplus to requirements. Obviously not wanting to throw this away I have kept it for a future project. So can this be used on my new Heljan class 33? I look forward to your feedback. Thanks.
  19. Hi All, You could use black tac (similar to blu tac but with stronger adhesive properties) which is easily obtainable on popular auction sites..... A tiny ball could be rolled into the hole & the whistle sited in this. Provided the loco isn't handled too much it would work just fine. For a more 'permanent' fixture, then the ideas from others above would be a better solution. Hope this helps.
  20. Hi, I am a DCC User (deploying the Gaugemaster prodigy 2).
  21. Hi All, I recently ran a rake of weathered Hornby KFA's (along with some other container traffic). Up front was a Bachmann class 47 in the original Railfreight Distribution livery. I thought I would share here. Enjoy.
  22. Hi All, An interesting solution. I have some Hornby class 31 & have had no such issues running over my Peco Bullhead points which is quite bizarre.
  23. The distance from either End! ha ha. Sorry I couldn't resist. I'll get my coat.....
  24. Hi All, Thank you for the clarification.
