Hi All, In the past we have had a Model Zone limited edition of the RTC BG Lab 23 released previously as 39-175Z My curiosity has got the better of me so I have to ask the question, 'What's the difference between this new BCC edition & the previous model?' A tweek to the livery, different bogies, an alternative time line, different running number...... I have yet to receive my copy of the BCC magazine so there maybe some detail here Can anyone shed any light on this?

Hi rob D2, in the description on my screen shot it is quoted 'weathered with Graffiti'. I guess we will have to wait & see how they turn out.......

Hi All, Observation of the day..., In the May 2020 edition of a Rail Express magazine there is an image on page 79 showing an shortened APT set attending the 150th celebration event of the Rainhill trials. What struck me was the Class 56 to the right of the picture that propelled the set. It’s height appears quite a bit taller than the APT. Neve realised this before. Not an issue, just an observation. PS - This scenario could also be replicated with Hornby products once the APT becomes available. Stay Safe people.

Hi All, i have a few of these in a variety of liveries purchased a number of years ago. Although not manufactured for some time, I noted a month or so back that one of our favourite 'box shifters' has commissioned some of these including a version complete with graffiti. Hope this helps.

Oxford Rail announces - OO gauge Mk3 coaches
Going2theDogs replied to MGR Hooper!'s topic in Oxford Rail
Hi All, Has anyone heard mention of the royal MK3's being produced by Oxford Rail? Thanks in advance. -
Hi All, i managed to secure one of these Bachmann class 158 in the Regional Railways livery complete with sound. Although I am very impressed with this model I am after some feedback about increasing the volume of the sound chip. I am aware ther has been several posts about upgrading the speaker it is more the volume 'question' that I am after an initial solution to as this model is considerably quieter than all my other sound fitted loco's. Any advice greatfully received In the meantime, please see an image from my running session this evening.

Hi All, What about some Mk3 coaches in the 'Royal' livery.....
-
Hi All, What about the Ramsomes crane in a weathered yellow livery........ Not sure if any of the versions portrayed by Bachmann ever carried this colour scheme but I am confident someone here will know. Thanks in advance.

Hi All, Can anyone confirm the overall length of this 2 car unit please. I have been on the Bachmann website but can not see this infiormation. Thanks in advance.

Model Shops in Brussels, Amsterdam and Paris
Going2theDogs replied to SNCF stephen's topic in Overseas Prototype
Hi All, What would people recommend for model railway shops for a trip to Brussels? We will be centrally based with easy access to the transport network. As an aside if you are thinking of visiting Train World it is a must. not model railway related but shows the evolution of Belguim's railway system. It is one stop from Gard Nord at Schaerbeek station and is sign posted so is easily found from the station. 10/10. Thanks. -
Hi All, i was also advised the same availability as June 2020. Unfortunately no class 59 model on display. I did pick up the spec sheet on Saturday morning at Warley & I must say it does look good & am confident (deep intake of breath) it will be well worth the wait.

Railway Modeller December 2019 to feature Sir Rod's Layout
Going2theDogs replied to keefer's topic in Other Magazines
Hi all, The exposure our hobby is currently receiving is just great. It is also worth noting that there are also a number of railway related TV programs that are running at the moment which again is good PR. I read Sir Rod's article & enjoyed it very much, the question I have is as the layout was not UK based would it be better placed in the sister magazine Continental Modeller? Anyhow, it was a good read. -
Hi All, Really looking forward to these. Can anyone confirm when these wagons will be available? Thks.

Hi all, For those that are interested, I can confirm the shade of Marion on the recently relaesed Northern Belle coach pack is slightly different to the previously released Mk2D's. The roof is also a different shade as well. Also, interestingly, the new Mk2E are a few mm shorter as well....... Is this prototypical or where the older Airfix coaches too long?
-
Hi All, A quick heads up..... Hornby are also producing a Northern Belle train pack. Coaches include 'Chatsworth' & ' Warwick'. Due to be released in the next few months. Ref No. R3697 relates.
-
Hi All, To clarify, I meant are the new release Northern Belle coaches a match with regard to livery to coaches previously released. They do 'appear' to be a different shade of maroon but it could be the lighting when the photo was taken. Anyone managed to pick these up yet? if so, an image showing one of the new coaches alongside 'Warwick' or 'Glamis' would be appreciated. Thanks.
-
Hi All, Reference this Hornby Northern Belle coach pack. Does anyone know, if these new coaches will match the previously released versions?
-
Hi All, Thought for the day. So in light of the recent announcement from the BCC about the recently released BG in 'Northern Belle' livery, is it possible they could turn their attentions to the passenger saloons now that they have their superb Mk2F to use as a basis for these coaches. And they have already produced the class 57 loco in this livery too. Joined up thinking?
-
Hi All, Agree with the comments made. Some of these packs look quite good but then there are others........ Clearance of old stock I understand but surely it would make more sense to put these in compatible rakes of appropriate loco & rolling stock. IMHO it is 'own goals' like this that undermine Hornby & their aspirations.

Hornby breakdown coaches. How do they compare?
Going2theDogs replied to Going2theDogs's topic in Hornby
Thanks Mozzer models for the link. Thank you to Jenny Kirk’s review which is very informative & I would certainly recommend to anyone else interested in these coaches. I have attached a screen grab to help with the comparison (hope you don’t mind Jenny). Hornby version is the coach at the top of the photo. -
Hornby breakdown coaches. How do they compare?
Going2theDogs replied to Going2theDogs's topic in Hornby
Thanks Metr0land. i am not looking to match the new Hornby versions with the older Bachmann versions, just curious to know what is the better model I.e. more representative of the real thing.
