  2. On December 9, 1922, now 100 years and a month ago, the Calais-Méditerranée Express ran for the first time with new blue sleeping cars. This train was soon called The Blue Train. In 1949 this also became the official name. To celebrate the centenary, I am showing images of Blue Train models from my collection.   4. This is an (almost?) correct representation of the Oiseau Bleu Pullman train as ir ran between Paris and Antwerp in 1930. Equipment from Jouef, RivaRossi and Altaya. Regards Fred
  5. These were stoker equiped coal burners. They had under the streamlining a normal smoke box with smokebox door, but I do not know how they removed the nose. I have this very detailed 0 gauge model by FAM with opening hatches etc, but the nose is fixed 😉 Regards Fred

  8. Most Wagons-Lits trains had a restaurant car and a CIWL baggage car in their consist. In Italy a number of night trains only had sleeping cars and a FS (Italian railway) baggage car. Here is a train like that with a FS steam locomotive in the garden. Regards Fred

  10. I am not a Wagner fan 😉 The lady is his niece, the empress Elisabeth/Sisi of Austria (recognisable by her hair with flowers as shown on a famous painting of her); as far as the story goes they had a good (family) relation. Regards Fred

  13. In the video a Mettoy 2-4-0 Brittania with correct number/name (Robin Hood, 70038), but that is about all that is correct 😉. Regards Fred

  16. WESA was a Swiss company that used the word Liliput (not the brand) on their boxes because their trains were small. There was no connection with the Austrian company Liliput. Regards Fred
  17. The loco is metal while the cars are plastic. WESA was quite early with cast metal and plastic (the company WESA still exist and is known for that, but not for train models). Regards Fred
