  1. Oh dear! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144646913011?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=hC3uJmu_R02&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=Ghyxkm76TAy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  2. I can understand that, I wanted a TPE version to go with my DRS one. I have reached out to my retailer and will be popping in Friday. I can’t see Dapol having a solution by then, I also don’t want to be in a position I cannot return later, so will probably opt for the refund. I tried contacting several times, same thing.
  3. I will be returning mine for a refund, shouldn’t be expected to potentially drill holes into a new model because of an oversight by the manufacturer and it QC arrangements. If this was a Hornby model I think opinion would be a lot stronger, given recent threads etc. Had the body shell had holes already, different story, I’d keep and fit, but with the location and positioning, I think it would be easy to get it wrong and then you have a expense mess.
  4. The more I look at it, the more it stands out. I feel I will be retuning mine if Dapol are not going to offer a solution.
  5. 019 seems to command high prices these days, generally higher than the others. Luckily, I have 034, I forgot it was one of the two DRS ones that could run with the mk5’s.
  6. I just had a look at 027, no logo, so not the same moulding as the early Chiltern ones. I’ve found a new 023, £30 above the current models price, but looks like that is the only way to get one that’s correct.
  7. I see what you mean, every days a school day 😃. Looks like a error by Dapol then. No response yet to my enquiries.
  8. Is there a difference in the body moulding between the Vossloh and Stadler ones? Genuine question, I don’t really keep up in the 68’s.
  9. I don’t know what is worse, someone claiming to be a professional putting out that sub-standard quality consistently, or a retailer trying to command those prices and play down just have c**p they are.
  10. I agree, it appears to be an error. I was thinking they had used the shell from the early Chiltern models instead of the correct one. It doesn’t look like there are holes for the handrails, so not likely a fitting error at the factory. I’ve left a message with Dapol, let’s see what I get back.
  11. My 68027 is the same, I wonder if they have used the early service shell?
  12. Not far shy of £400 in the end. Seven bidders in the end, though it looks like only a couple were at the top end. A good example of what something is worth to individuals.
  13. Yes, I think that was the one. Definitely a Ben’s job.
  14. I see there is a DCC ready purple one at over £300. I was contemplating putting bid in and then offering my sound one for sale. As nice as the sound is, I’m happy without, most of my fleet is soundless.
  15. Was just having a browse, came across a couple of interesting ads. 1st - Battle of Britain class 91, the model rail limited edition, over 300 notes. Me thinks the seller maybe trying to off load before the new version arrives. 2nd - 90026 respray in Grand Central. Very poor quality respray, the black really shows up just how bad. 200 notes. I fear someone may fall for this one, and end up very disappointed with what they get.
  16. View Advert Athearn Genesis ES44AC BNSF H3 faded. Athearn Genesis ES44AC in faded BNSF H3 livery. Other than test running, this hasn’t been used. Highly detailed, this is as new, this one is DCC ready. For sale as I just don’t like the faded version of this livery and have replaced it with a pristine version. P&P will be 1st class signed for at my expense. Advertiser Ncarter2 Date 12/07/22 Price £150 Category Other scales
  17. Those 86’s look top notch Jerry. Fantastic work as always.
  18. Indeed, painting of Junctions and sites deemed at risk have been painted for at least the last the last 15years, if not longer. It’s a task I used to hate being given. Thankfully, no longer a part of my job 😂
  19. RAIB are on site, so I am sure the cause will be revealed in due course. Some speculation was possible SPAD or WSF of the signalling. As myself and colleagues pointed out, until the systems are interrogated and everything looked at, it’s just not possible to say.
  20. Appears there has been a collision in the Doncaster area between two freights. No specific details as yet. Hopefully all involved are ok. Never nice to see or hear, especially when you are in the industry.
  21. I see retailers are asking that sort of money in there now, not just private sellers.
  22. Very good point. I was an early buyer of the purple peril, it was also my first sound model purchased, though others turned up before it. As much as I like it, if the need arises, it will be one of the first to go. It’s a great hobby, but given the current climate, who knows what is next. Family first and all that. So, any one for a purple sound fitted Deltic….. zero miles on the clock only £899, go on, I’ll even cover the postage ;-)
  23. You may get more luck in the wanted section, not the free to a good home section.
