Class 92, By Accurascale
Torbay Express replied to Accurascale Fran's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Actually, that may be the ultimate challenge - go and measure up a loco in the Margate 1:1 Collection. Suppose with your little 'diddy' Acccurageezers, measuring gang someone is bound to take them in there.......You have corrupted the hobby..... Those figures were possibly a bad idea, if they happen to get in the 'wrong hands' and used as voodoo dolls..... Only got yourselves to blame..... ...... If one of you wake up with a stinking headache and sticky bottom one morning it could be because someone stuck you to the top of a loco and hit it into a bridge. If you wake up and feel like you have been hit by a train, not been drinking, but have rope marks around your wrists and hadn't been up to anything kinky, then perhaps your voodoo was tied to a piece of flexi and a loco run over you. If you wake up soaking wet and smelling if pee (before aged 90).....you get the idea...... Suppose it could be worse..... .... Tickle you 24/7 so you can never drink another Guinness without spilling it.... Sleep well..... Still selling those figures????? -

And I thought the letters (Roman Numerals) at the end of a BBC program were complicated..... 🤯 May be better if I stick to good old DC.... LOL! -

Nothing wrong with being proactive! He could have been the first person to order a loco off you guys. And just look at the amount of us 'suckers' he's roped in since.... Maybe he has his ear to the ground.....A big Irish Fella walks around a loco with a tape measure and camera and the Tom-Tom drums start beating...... Your most famous phrase is 'This announcement is the worst kept secret........' Maybe it started before you realised it did...... -

Does it come with sun glasses, or is it a glowing load for another Nuclear Release.... Very nice, really good attention to every part of the model as always. Fabulous. It just makes everything everyone else does look drab...... -

There you go, assuming again.... Maybe I am, maybe I am not. Maybe it 'just' depends "on the circumstances..... Looking at your footnote, you take pleasure in trying to offend others, so only a little of your own medicine! Cannot stand the heat, jump out of the fire. Not a dig at Accurascale, but I don't think many modellers would 'assume' this level of drag from one vehicle, hence my initial comment. 1 PFA alone goes down the ramp like something off a shovel, more than that you are racing to catch then before the inevitable on the first curve. I even started these 9 off with the HYA on the straight with a little push and the 1 HYA still stopped it! Huge respect to the Class 66 that can pull 12 HYAs up this and even do a standing start on a corner of the slope! No prizes for guessing which one (just incase someone starts assuming yet again!). -

I could assume a great many things but will stick with what I know and leave the assuming you. It's something that you are good at. -

Its not just the weight, it depends on the rolling resistance and drag! The HYAs were a lovely and very nice wagon, just not a very free rolling one.......(on my horrendous gradients, will dig a photo out somewhere - from memory took 8 PFAs to start one HYAs rolling down the gradient...Fortunately a certain Class 66 has the grunt to move a rake,up it don't struggle but you can tell its actually doing some work. If they uncouple at all while propelling, which can occasionally happen with the 66 cam coupling - pushing them up the gradient makes your arm ache slightly! With regards any locomotive from any manufacturer employing a cam coupling, coupling on curves never works.... -

.... Unless of course the coaches are that sexy, it gives the 68 some "phoar" went the coaches get close.... -

The Dapol 68 coupling also needs to be the correct height to work with them....... These guys usually cover most aspects, but if Dapol 68 couplings are anything like some of their droopy wagon couplings, the coaches may need to come with viagra tablets to give the 68.... -

Yeah, free range turkey cancelled due to bird flu, have a free range Mk5 pack instead...... Good job that they haven't done a GWR IEP.... Would need a shower fitted below the air con...... -

How does the Class 68 couple to the Mk5? Is there a tension lock or a NEM adapter in similar style to the Chaldon? -

Things can only get better! Whatever happens at least you won't be tearing your hair out... With the popularity of direct selling, instead of a display are they taking a sales stand instead. Most folk will miss the announcement at Warley anyway due to the strikes. -

Well they sacked all the reps earlier in the year, that must have saved a few quid! The problem is, they never stuck at what they were good at, took their eye off the ball and went off at tangents for a quick buck! -

That's a silly idea, why do things by halves? May as well go for the kill - HST with lifting cover, with NEM inside to permit drags over the South Devon Banks.... Proper 50 work, saving the new kid on the block! Saw 50031 do it once off P4 at Exeter, as they didn't like only one power operation over the banks. Wise move not to do 007, Accurascale will never get that 100% accurate - the amount of cows that hit, there must be a bone or two lodged somewhere.... -

Phew! That was a tense moment! I thought for a minute I may have had to upgrade my Lima ones with details parts, or dabble in TT. Can sleep easier now. Not too worried about the button under the second man's window for single line working being included or even whether the hotplate gets warm.... Seriously though, these will be stunning.... I won't go into nameplate puns, the pictures speak for themselves. Having seen your video of the Deltic, will these lovelies be easy to renumber - particularly thinking with respect to the numbers on large logo? Sure these will increase Mk2 sales...... -

Never like it when spurious figures like that are quoted. A/S said they had 8 locos (5 diesel 3 steam) on the way for 2 million, so why does a parent company charge 1 million for one? Unless it's because they can? -

Yes, quite. Actually one query - Minor but very noticeable as a kid when you used to see them buffer up! Does the rear of the buffer head have the strengthener/webbing?
