  1. Congratulations It's not my area of interest but I have been dipping into your thread from time to time. Well done, it looks fantastic
  2. This is the closet thread to my comment - bought a few bits from "Whoojamaflipmarky" - all buy it now with free postage so I included that in my assessment of whether to buy or not. Fast delivery, well packed and even a partial refund of some of the postage costs. That was unexpected.
  3. I'm 78 pages into the Clayton book - very interesting so far, and not too heavy going which is always a danger with this kind of subject.
  4. Take care of you and your family Al. All the best
  5. Probably have to be careful with exact numbers with commercial sensitiviy.
  6. If we did that (and my understanding of the English language excludes me from such activities) would we need to ask for the topic to be renamed Wright rights Wright writes?
  7. There may be others - have you looked under Dung carriers?
  8. Yup, and when they hit 88 miles an hour they were cast back a hundred years. Amazing stuff to see.
  9. Nearly 3x the price of new from Dart castings https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203644992656
  10. A happy and healthy new year, one and all. We're off out in a few minutes to try and find a vantage point to watch fireworks. I want to sleep so will probably stay in the car (grumble grumble Scrooge :D).
  11. It could be the next film remake - "A bridge too far - Hermes strikes again"
  12. @Hugh Longworth occasionally posts here - perhaps he can shed a little light on it? Whilst outside my modelling era I am interested in Mk1s and 2s so may pick up a copy
  13. Nothing wrong with a bit of Queen Meanwhile, wonder where THIS came from?! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233537057107 And I wonder if the missile in the background is live...
  14. "Sound fitted" - presumably the sound works even off the track and sound remarkably similar to plastic cracking under pressue?
  15. Wowser. I thought going up to £100 was a lot... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324946063062 Somebody REALLY wanted this.
  16. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year chaps - you've not managed to tempt me in with anything just get but plenty of time 91 *cough* Yes I know - not doing it was good business decision
  17. Andrew, have you done any tests? Nearly all my immediate family (Myself, my wife and daughter, my parents, my mother in law, both sister in laws and one of their husbands) all had new coughs, sore throats, sneezes - pretty much textbook cold symptoms but also this new variant symptoms too. Covid was tearing round my daughter's school in the last week or two of term. Yet every lateral flow and even a couple of PCRs when children in her class tested positive have showed consistently negative. I saw something about an estimate of 50% of "colds" at present are this new variant. Maybe the tests don't work, but with them all negative we have carried on regardless.
  18. Merry Christmas all, especially Tony and Mo. Thank you for another year of keeping us entertained and in check. So many hours spent reading instead of doing what was supposed to be done - and all well worth it! I hope everyone has a safe, enjoyable Christmas.
  19. Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year Time off? Rude, get drawing things
  20. Mmm, Baileys... Sorry, what was the question?
  21. This one has the Shell logo on (Does Anglo-Dutch count as a UK fuel brand?) - And a BP logo on an ex-BR Cl14 - http://www.scot-rail.co.uk/photo/scaled/23151/ Do they all have to be for liquid fuels? Coal is a fuel and there were an awful lot of NCB marked locos
  22. That definitely raised an eyebrow. Hopefully (and I have no doubt) they will learn from this and be a better railway as a result. I do enjoy a nice trip on the NYMR, it comes across as a very professional railway.
