  1. No personal experience with the HL motors but I've seen a few people say they are very good. I've used Mashima 1015 and 1020s and both are good motors.
  2. Looks like only two were built but yes please for 2. And definitely the turnbuckle underframe too if possible. Thanks
  3. I reckon they nailed it? https://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/paulbartlettsrailwaywagonphotographs/e598bd7f8 Apart from the tank original colour and the weathering itself, identical!
  4. Excellent - it's on my list to get some for one of those at some point so saves me asking I assume it's for Bill's D18? I've been toying with asking him for a couple but I think the panelling is wrong for my era.
  5. Co-incidence? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-59235719
  6. Wild a*sed guess - if it's to do with the manifold, the only real reason for shutting it off is if a pipe fails resulting in high pressure steam escaping and that's likely to be in the cab so having the shut off outside that area would be a wise thing to do?
  7. My friend got ID'd in Waitrose some years back - he was 22. However, the product he was ID'd for was Root Beer....
  8. Wizard models - https://www.wizardmodels.ltd/ Roxey Mouldings - https://www.roxeymouldings.co.uk/ Modelu - https://www.modelu3d.co.uk/ And many others. Having said that, giving card details over the phone is an accepted payment method The proprietor of Alan Gibson would be in serious trouble if he retained card details.
  9. Holy Moly, some people REALLY want this newspaper van: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224675562630 Got to be some kind of record for a single 4mm coach kit?
  10. I've used these a number of times, both on loco chassis and also coach bogies. Only minor issue is the drag they cause but you can bend them in a bit to reduce that.
  11. As I understand it, modern image means the modernisation plan era - to separate it from Steam. It does NOT cover more recent times - I guess you could call that the blue period, then sectorisation then privatisation? I look at is as similar to historic vehicles - veteran covers up to WW1, vintage between the wars, then classic after that.
  12. What is the best method of attaching a MJT aluminium roof (with whitemetal ends for vestibuled coaches) to brass bodies? I've tried a couple of times to get things like gorilla glue to adhere to the aluminium but failed
  13. What also seems strange is eBay and paypal are no longer linked, they prefer you to use their own payment system.
  14. If you happened to produce something showing the history and numbers of pre-grouping stock prior to British Railways for the LNER< specifically ex-GER stock I'd buy it. Kind of like your superb Pre-Nationalisation book but focussing on stock withdrawn prior to nationalisation
  15. Regarding the E4 I know David Eveleigh is intending to produce an etched kit - not sure how that is progressing however. I understand there are issues with the Gibson kit (and its availability) so I would say there is definitely a market for one from somebody.
  16. Exactly. Not particularly bothered about the units but I dread to think of the damage to the tunnel lining by pulling it out like something out of the dukes of hazzard.
  17. It's something you'd expect to see on Thomas the Tank Engine, not real life...
  18. At the very least it probably needs tyre turning after that crazy way of trying to get the coach out. I wonder who signed off on the method statement and risk assessment.
  19. And there was me thinking it might be the Main Line Steam Trust. Prefer your one though.
  20. Something isn't quite right with this, but I just can't figure out what... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324737320332
  21. A timetable I bought on the 24th October arrived today. It was sent same day first class. Another document from the same seller dispatched same day is still AWOL.
