  1. There are any number of reason why email may not be working properly - and as societies are unlikely to have anything more than a shoestring IT budget it can often be a while before issues are identified and resolved.
  2. Ooh, I'm with the crowd - I voted for the winner and one of the high pollers
  3. Probably because they are the cheapest they could find. I can't remember the last time I used an ISP supplied router - if you're ok with setting up a replacement it's usually a noticeable improvement to use a decent one.
  4. Just wanted to take a moment to wish Tony and all the Wright Writes contributors a happy new year. Thank you for putting up with my ramblings and the great advice I have received. Personally I could go to bed now and be rid of this year, but my 7 year old is determined to stay up until midnight - and thus far seems to be well on track to achieve this.
  5. I'd have been very surprised if it was available separately and in advance of the model it was created for. No doubt it is a superb sound project but it's not the one by Accurascale.
  6. The old site is alas no more Which is a shame as there was loads of things I referred to.
  7. Were disc wheels used to reduce drag perhaps? Which might explain why they were used on A4 allocated tenders.
  8. Ooh I doubt this set will get to the top of the pile before 2022 so works for me!
  9. Not if you model 1939 So anyone up for the challenge of producing some accurate 10ft sides?
  10. Well assuming the Isinglass drawing is correct, all the bogie sides in the MARC models silver jubilee are wrong as they are standard, not heavy duty: In fact they are quite poor castings as well with missing damper shaft bits and poor definiton. So add me to the list of people looking for some!
  11. I will see if I can find a better picture but these are the MARC models Silver Jubilee bogies.
  12. Most card based payments take your money straight away but refunds take several days. It's one of those really annoying things that the card companies could fix quite easily I'm sure but they like having the money in limbo as they make money on it. Pre-allocation is also really annoying - we used to only see it in restaurants in America - they take your card and swipe it, then give it back and you add the tip and you then end up with TWO pending charges, one without the tip and one with. You ave to wait several days for the one without the tip to expire. Now we see it here all the time - e.g. Asda pre-allocate before a delivery, but then put the actual amount on as well once the out of stock items etc. are taken into account so again you have to wait a few days for the original amount to drop off. And it all counts towards your balance so you have to take that into account when managing your finances.
  13. Ebay annoyance - 5% cashback and 10X nectar points and I can't find anything I want!
  14. Merry Christmas everybody. Thank you for tolerating my sporadic entries - really hoping 2021 proves to be a much better year all round, including modelling but mostly hopefully we'll start to see the back of this dreadful situation. Stay safe everyone.
  15. Definitely IT is the career to be in at the minute if you like to be busy. We've actually taken someone on despite making redundancies in other areas of the business. I've barely achieved anything this year, working all hours. But as I said way back - I'm happy that I'm still working when so many others have sadly lost their jobs.
  16. Deutsche Post/DHL have suspended all Road delivered to/from Europe too with parcels being returned to send if they don't have the storage space for it. https://www.deutschepost.de/en/home.html
  17. Congratulations However please don't say started in early 70s as that just reminds me that I am nearly 50 too
  18. I have no doubt. The question is which one? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essex_County
  19. Hmm, I think I was there - I have no recollection of going but found these negatives a while back.
  20. I remembered I'd not bought Christmas cards for the important people - ordered Saturday, arrived this morning. So certainly some parts of the service are running very well.
  21. I spotted this yesterday - I believe it means that the site is too busy for server spec assigned to it - so the site owner needs to upgrade it (with the associated costs). I think once it comes back online I need to send a donation to help with the costs as it's a superb site.
  22. It says with valvegear so I would presume from that it has the chassis to hang it off.
