  1. The 4 wheelers used on the Jazz were the round topped door ones, not ones that David has done. D&S did some of them (Brake 3rd, 3rd and 1st - although the 2nd could be makde by doing full height partitions in the third) I believe the following were converted - 26 Composites (from 26 1st and 26 2nd bodies), 26 2nds (from 52 2nd bodies), 26 3rds (from 52 3rd Bodies), 26 brake 3rds (from 26 third bodies, and 22 of one type of brake 3rd and 4 of another). Not sure how many were not converted. There was also quite a few new build 54ft 6 a side suburban stock built - these had square topped doors and elliptical roofs instead of the arc roofs the 4 wheelers had. There is one surviving 54ft produced from two 27 foot bodies at Mangapps - I'm aware of one of the 4 wheelers surviving - and the NNR have just completed a fantastic restoration - http://nnrailway.blogspot.com/2019/10/completion-special-great-eastern.html
  2. The ads are targeted - so reflect what you have previously searched for. So... did you BUY the kinky Robin Hood outfit last week?
  3. Why should I not be surprised that someone has done this!
  4. I think a million anoraks with a million ipads still wouldn't be able to list everything that has changed over the years
  5. Ambis engineering do a range of etched ones http://ambisengineering.co.uk/productList.pdf
  6. That's quite a promise as Dave is great to talk to and so helpful. Not saying that Squires aren't like that - I've never dealt with them
  7. Oh goodness that's terrible news. I only had one dealing with Graham for a single set of buffers, but he was a gentleman and had patiently assisted me. RIP Sir
  8. I presume NER livery would need different bogies and any other features backdated (corridor connection?)?
  9. There will be some heat generated in the resistor as it resists. The energy for that comes from the battery.
  10. Hopefully we are at the beginning of the end of the mess this virus is causing. I'm posting this sitting in the car waiting for my parents to return from having their first vaccine dose. They are early 70s so the NHS is ploughing through the groups I know it's not a railway related post but it's a good news one and we need a bit of that!
  11. Ah so I didn't break anything. People at work would never believe it!
  12. Certainly later GER bogie coaches had a side corridor allowing access to all.
  13. The GER were great teases with their early lavatory equipped coaches - only the adjacent compartments had access.
  14. That sounds like the same kit - Have a measure up, especially of the body height. I have found the need to trim a bit off - Really need to get back on building mine - I'm at the point of working out how to fix the roof on and my first attempt failed and got a bit despondent. I'm very interested in how you get on with yours.
  15. Woah, someone has actually bid on one of these things https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LNER-Flying-Scotsman-Scale-Model-Display/133639326824?hash=item1f1d864c68:g:7PIAAOSwy6ZgAWDl
  16. Seems to be google account related for me - my two normal ones don't work, but if I use one set up for work a while back it does. I promise to only enter nominations once!
  17. Probably just me - but is anyone else stuck in a Sign In loop when trying to access the google docs BRMA link?
  18. What body are you using? I've had to do quite a few modifications to the RDEB one. Agreed the trussing could be better but I'll probably stick with the etched ones. I have used nuts instead of the supplied washers for where they are attached to the queen posts.
  19. AKA - how do you make a cat go woof?
  20. If you are using a 51' MJT underframe it includes the locations for components on the etch. As it happens this is also a D154. There are no reservoirs on the shortys that I am aware of.
  21. Dominion of Canada when it was over for it's holiday
  22. I have a couple of the X to Y series of books for the GEML which I note Vic was the series editor of. They are very useful and well put together books - a credit to Vic and the authors.
  23. Not bad, just think what justice you could do to decent trains* *please don't my wallet would not survive
