  1. Only one other thing but that would get an insta-ban.
  2. It's getting very frustrating. I needed some ends for a curtain rail - it's a strange one so not many places sell them. Ordered two sets from different places on the 21st Nov and neither have arrived despite both being (allegedly) sent 1st class. Ordered some bits from China on the 16th Nov and they arrived 3 days ago.
  3. I've done a few small fiddly jobs with it - plenty of notches in it to fit small parts around.
  4. I went straight for the biggest - but I got lucky with an unused one on ebay for a very good price.
  5. And next day they are here! Now, what did I want to do with them?!
  6. NOW I will struggle not to order one of these as it's a local lad... I knew it was right to hold back lol
  7. Woo hoo - some bits that have been out of stock over a year are back in
  8. Don't most people do that on Boxing day?
  9. I bought a GWR book because it was joined onto one on LNER = needs must! Admittedly I have to look up what the G&SWR was - so I can now say that no I wouldn't be interested in that as I doubt any of their stock ran on the GE metals. I say that because a lot of NER stock and others were cascaded to that line, therefore I have an interest in NER coaches as well
  10. I would be *very* interested in a monograph on GER carriages
  11. I have a lot of interest in the GER - primarily because so much stock and motive power survived until my chosen modelling period - but also because there's a story behind that stock that is very interesting.
  12. For kit bashing. Looks like that's already done? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Box-Van-Body-and-wagon-body-for-kit-bashing/203188649183?hash=item2f4efcbcdf:g:KbYAAOSwPkxfXeGM
  13. Me too. It's my rebellious nature.
  14. Looks like someone tried to have a whinge - the quality of the work done should be enough of a clue that you work to a professional standard, which would include access.
  15. So the review says it can't pull the skin off a cup of tea then gives performance full marks. Eh? I've heard bad things about Sam's Trains before and I can understand why.
  16. I wonder what percentage of these is correct? Start at 0% and work down?
  17. Just to stick my oar in on the shape of bottoms - isn't it a turnunder, not a tumblehome? A tumblehome is something to do with the top of a ship?
  18. Thank you for posting this - I have a long list of shorties to build so I will look into these. Not 121 long though!
  19. Well this doesn't read well at all... https://www.gov.uk/raib-reports/report-13-2020-collision-and-derailment-at-neville-hill?fbclid=IwAR2XX0N4ip7Z9_DH0wTIRP28qgAYd0u6mTqh28GTAD9wM8KJQfY9vVrxwWw
  20. For stock that would have the buffers extended (so as Andrew mentions - full brakes and end of rakes) I have opted to use the Markits sprung buffers. For mid-rake retracted ones, then the MJT ones. I have also opted to use Kadees so mid-rake sort of prototypical but end of rake not so much
  21. If it's of interest I found that it was quite easy to fit the "universal" one to D&S bogies.
  22. Nah, it's not even going to get started until page 9000.
