  4. yes there was a terminating siding at the station. Originally planned to be a passing loop but cost issues saw it ditched. The MK remodelling in 2004 changed the layout completly Regards Nick

  6. Patterned glass in thelong closed fast line "General waiting room" at Gidea Park station on January 7th 2018. The middle panel had been replaced but "room" also survives.Partterned glass from the 1950's perhaps? NR
  7. 31307 (probably) at a wintry Rugby on an engineers on 081290. The snow was much deeper in the Trent Valley and West Midlands causing a suspension of services for some hours. NR
  8. 313201 back in blue dragged by Network rail 313121 with a 350 trying to spoil matters at Leighton this afternoon! Unit returning to Brighton from wolverton works Happy Xmas to all at RM web NR
  9. 67004 at a snow free Fort William with 1S25 sleeper from Euston on 220113. The snow was thick over Rannoch and Corrour with one large drift being relocated to Fort William!
  10. Good old BR Midland region maroon enamel signs survive in good numbers and condition from the late 60s when they were applied to ole gantries on the WCML lines out of Euston. They also show the mileage (from Euston) as well as gantry number as per this Leighton Buzzard station enamel long may they survive into the future! NR
  11. 313s rescue Silverlink Sep 2003! When Bletchley TMD had to ground all their 321 fleet due suspected brake faults it was class 313s to the rescue from Sep 11-13th 2003. Various 313s were borrowed from Euston - Watford DC duties, spare Silverlink ones drafted in and even GN 313060/064 drafted in on M.Keynes - Eustons. It was unusual to ride them at speed, as mentioned good riding units. They will be much missed from Moorgate and Kings X peak turns as they are still personally much missed on the "DC" and NLL NR www.leightonlogs.org
  12. On the Friday evening (3 Nov 2017) a nocturnal scene from Totnes Riverside with 8568 awaiting departure for Buckfastleigh during the superb South Devon deisel gala. The staff look on whilst the enthusiast is engrossed in his moves. Could pass for Hawick in the early 60's perhaps? NR
  13. 81022 reverses the ECS of the Cardiff-Glasgow service out of Glasgow Central on a wintry 210286. The "fish" is about to cross the Clyde the rivers whos legend of a salmon leaping with a ring in its mouth was applied as Shields/Motherwell depot badge of honour as seen on 81022 here... NR

  16. A wires down between Rugby and Nuneaton on 18 Sep 1985 (class 81 on fire) saw several trapped up trains dragged from Nuneaton to Coventry. 20147 produced singly on this and s seen at Coventry about to be detached full story of the fun events here happy days on the WCML NR

  19. Railfreight sponsered 87101 passes Old Linslade with the usual short Mossend - Wembley "Speedlink" on March 15th 1991.This service was withdrawn with the Speedlink cuts in May 1991 NR

  21. For a short period AC electrics featured on the Nuneaton - Tring Cutting cement works leg of MGR's from Daw Mill. Here 86314 passes Leighton Buzzard with loaded MGRs on 070383 electric loco shortages quickly saw deisel power replace the AC electrics on this unusual turn for them Nick R

  23. classic lines from wednesday may 10th 2017. 87002 at Ledburn with1M11 2340 (9/5) Glasgow/Edinburgh - Euston. This was 87002's first decent leg stretch since late Dec 2016, good to see the old girl back after a 92 failed on 1S26 on 8/5. NR
