  1. I sure hope that Kirk did not give up his job as Captain of the starship Boobyprise! 😂
  2. I am not really sure who did the original; or any covers. I just remembered the proper wording and tune of that line but none of the rest of the song. Go figure..
  3. After draining the bay, the biggest, most horrible loss would be the lack of availability of the fresh Bay oysters for "raw oysters on the half-shell"; a Chesapeake Bay delicacy! Not to mention Chesapeake Bay Blue Crabs for steaming. Oh, and rock fish, Mmmmm. Now I am salivating!! 😂
  4. With a slight "change" in a word or so, yes.
  5. Yes, prayers for Air Vice Marshall Hunt.
  6. Well, certainly very much cheaper to repair, anyway🤔!
  7. I remember my first white chocolate Easter bunny very well; after that one, they were the only kind that I would ask for and get. Oh, were they so good!
  8. I know it is a spoof but if it were actually true, it would be the downfall of Bachmann Europe!
  9. Thread drift, don't you just love it!
  10. If the Birds win the Series or the Ravens the bowl, that is all that I wish to hear about. After the fact!
  11. That might be accurate, they seem to be (mostly) ignoring the trains and arguing about the lack of green panniers! 😂
  12. I first read that as "US sized" and thought "wow!". 🐱
  13. Night Owl from a nice, warm Piedmont. 539° R today.
  14. Maybe because it is easier to cast humans to play their parts?
  15. I took a music appreciation course in high school thinking that it would be an easy slide. Oh, no! The teacher was a young black guy almost just out of teaching school and was a slave-driver! All I can say is that he must have done his job properly as I still have a love of classical music. Not the vocal part of opera, though.

    On Cats

    Ah, the sounds of silence.
  17. Maybe this should be in the "Those who like airplanes" thread. I hope that the whole event is successful and the bird will be appreciated by the museum's visitors.
  18. I do not class Afternoon as country & western (no matter what the others may call it; no pickup trucks, no dogs, no twangy banjos, etc!), more like mild folk rock; whatever, the song did chart and did quite well. Even I liked the catchy tune and words. From Wikipedia: ""Afternoon Delight" is a song recorded by Starland Vocal Band. It was written by band member Bill Danoff. In the US, it became a #1 single on July 10, 1976 and earned a gold record.". Note that it took me 43 years to finally buy the single! 🤔
