  1. Thanks for the info. Just trying to help, as I think this is very unfortunate and I hope the wagons turn up soon.
  2. I'm using an iPad and the files worked fine. The APT configurations page someone mentioned are pretty good too, worth having a look at.
  3. I've had a quick look on Ebay and most things will a Manufacturer. Other things I've had a look at have no trace of a yellow dot. EDIT: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/N-Gauge-Goods-Wagons-Open-Coal-Wagons-3-/322944572049 Would the Millon Cooperative Society transfers on the sides have anything in relation to this?? Or any of these? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Job-lot-of-old-vintage-N-Gauge-railway-wagons-coaches-brake-vans-etc/352231376102?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D49129%26meid%3De7027caabe644e63a7b18e9e4fb5daf6%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D272980010581&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Job-lot-of-N-Gauge-railway-wagons-coaches-etc-including-N-205-MINITRIX-engine-/272980010581 Some of them are ending soon though.
  4. I've come up with a proposal for the trams. I've made a rough sketch of what it may look like, which I've darkened for clarity. I've still got to make proper diagrams though. The stupidly drawn circle thing in the middle of it is supposed to be the Late BR Crest.
  5. The era of the tramway represented will look different to the heavy rail line. Whilst the layout itself will be around the 1970's - 1980's period, I'd probably go back 20 years or so with the tramway. This would make it look older than the heavy rail. EDIT: I will also enlarge the windows to make it look more traditional and the front end will definitely be rearranged, one thing would be that the end communication door would be removed. This would be as it wouldn't be needed for slow speed tram workings. I might also make the door arrangement look a little like the Bradfield Suburban cars, as they do slightly resemble a tram.
  6. I know someone who's got a couple of Eureka AD60's. One of which operates really well with DCC sound, with working momentum as well. PM me if you want, so I can contact them. Good luck with fixing your model.
  7. Ok, I need help. I'm in the process of designing a tram for the new tramway on my layout Kingsborough. It will be based on the NSWGR's Aluminium Bodied Railcars, like the one pictured above but I might lower it to for realism. Also I will need to make it more 'British' as whilst I like the NSWGR Railcars, I still want to be realistic on resemblances, so that it isn't too obvious. I may also make the side skirting go even lower to help with this 'Tram Look' as well. The length will be reduced and the layout of the interior will be rearranged to cater for these changes. It might run on 600kv Overhead Wiring and the colour scheme is yet to be decided...
  8. Continuing planning... And being unsure of what trains to make/buy for the layout.

  9. I see. But like I said before, your photos are good as they are now.
  10. Is your backdrop plain grey? If so, I'm pretty sure (with some photo editing) you can change the colour of the background. It might be worth fiddling around with lighting too. I quite like the background as it is though, but it's your decision.
  11. Oops... How impatient am I! I follow so many threads (5 pages worth, currently!), this was one I was really interested in. I really lose track of time on these...
  12. Yakety Sax - James Rich and Boots Randolph.
  13. It has been a while since Brian last posted, although he was active yesterday, I'm not sure what's happened with this project...
  14. This may not be updated for a while, as I'm currently focusing on the layout. Once I have some ideas I'll make another post.
  15. It sucks that these major companies with so much heritage in Australia aren't building cars here anymore... Now everything's made in Asia. Same deal is with the trains as well. The NSWGR's Electric and Diesel Multiple Unit trains were made in Granville, Clyde, Newcastle (Goninan's and also Walsh Island Dockyard) and Chullora. The more recent Waratahs were made in China, and now the NSW Government's stupidly wide new intercities are being made in South Korea, NICE MOVE GOVERNMENT!
  16. A week later from the last post, some serious development has been going on behind the (currently wood) scenes... Kingsborough has developed from a rural station in the background of industry to something full on industrial! After finding 'Ripper Street' in a RAILWAY MODELLER magazine, I've taken some of the features of that layout, and I'm planning to use them somehow into Kingsborough. One feature in particular I'm taking is the arched roof of the station, and the general industrial vibe it gives off. Although much of what I planned previously will remain the same, including the track plan (the lower section is still under consideration though), the trains (which will still be primarily DMU's and the general idea remains the same. After reading back and fourth through that RM article, the following things will be changed: - I will attempt to introduce a locomotive hauled train, whether it be a parcel service or a reduced 'Gatwick Express' based unit in push/pull operation. - The station - This was originally to be a more rural station, but now it will look more like a small city terminus. An arched roof like the one at 'Ripper Street' mixed with York (not curved!) will sit on top of the platforms. The footbridge will be replaced with a subway. SEE BLOG FOR MORE (See signature)
  17. I'm sure when they're released people will brake up their sets and resell the cars separately.
  18. Nice plan, adding a couple of buildings does make things more interesting. It can be a challenge of simplicity and interesting features. Some just go for one or the other.... I find it just takes a bit of planning to get what you want out of your layout. There are comprises too that you need to find your way around. I initially wanted my layout to be in a rural semi-industrial area, although with further planning, it evolved into something like a terminus set in an industrial city. I came up with this just yesterday.
  19. I do 3D modelling myself, but never have I been able to get that much detail into one model, in fact most of mine have been confined to being abandoned and/or cancelled due to distortion or issues with the model. The one I'm working on now may or may not be successful. It may turn out well, but there is bound to be something that stuffs up the entire thing, and this is probably my 5th attempt at the same damn train! Very well done sir, I'll be interested to see how this finishes.
  20. ...Unlike in Australia, which they were a roaring success. Some of which still impress crowds today.
  21. Get someone who can film to visit. I visited a friend's layout and did some filming for him around a month ago. This was just a couple of light engine movements although I think that full operation on your layout would be great on video. Just got to make sure that the lighting's right and that there's no background noises. See the link below: http://gunnedahandbeyond.blogspot.com.au I know this isn't British Outline but I just thought I'd provide an example.
  22. Yes, whilst it is good to 'keep it simple', you don't want to be too plain. Just adding a couple of buildings like you did in your earlier plans would make it a great layout. EDIT: Unless the trains are going to be long, I wouldn't put long straight sidings like that. I nearly went with something similar on my layout on it's lower level - two straights of track. Later I opted for something a little more interesting. Instead of two, boring lengths of track, I placed two adjacent junctions in the middle and reduced one track into a siding instead of running it through.
