  1. At least being removable to access the DCC socket it makes it easier to swap out for the correct door.
  2. Mine was done about 20 minutes ago. Is it normal that the final order total doesn't include VAT? I see up an Accurascale account after getting the email from Hattons and put my address in (UK) but doesn't appear to be VAT on the order.
  3. The email I got from Hattons said orders would move over to Accurascale unless I didn't want it to move. Excellent news, I had a feeling these models wouldn't be dead after Hattons announced they wee closing.
  4. Just had an email from Hornby announcing the Transport for Wales Black Class 67. Due next month.
  5. Probably a few commissions yet to be announced. I know of at least one as I was working with the person who commissioned them for a fundraiser to help with livery selection.
  6. Mine was very tight to start with. Ended up using a small screwdriver on each side to wiggle it out. After a few times in/out to test with the body off it eased up.
  7. There was video of the Locomotion No.1 running sample.
  8. The Black 5 and lamps were mentioned in the 2024 range launch Q&A video today. Lamps will be removable with lamp brackets and spare lamps in the accessory bag to cover over the LED's in the body. From 35:10
  9. The "new" announcement was the fact they are available separately now and not in the train packs like they have been previously. Happy to be corrected
  10. Yeah that's exactly what it looks like to be minus the modern caged ladder on the non door end.
  11. There were some amendments to identities due to more research/evidence being seen. It could be some retailers haven't updated their sites but the Rapido website should be up to date.
  12. Question for those more knowledgeable on motors: Looked at my model again, run for a few minutes with the body off and the round brass part on the motor which I presume is one of the brushes? Got rather warm. Is this normal, should I be concerned? Cheers
  13. Check the screw holding the front of the body is there as that was a long one. Accessed through the hole in the pony truck.
  14. Not sure if I just got unlucky, running in on my rolling road I noticed it had a wobble. By moving the rollers around seemed to narrow it down to the middle axle, Initial thoughts were the quartering was out. With the loco upside down I tried it with a battery and no issue, solution, always run it upside down! I jest. Decided to take a look properly so placed it in a foam cradle with a battery on a tender wheelset and heard a clicking. The pickup was catching on a small protrusion on the wheel centre. It was the gate where the plastic entered the wheel cavity in the mould rom the sprue which was catching the pickup when the wheel was hard over to that side. Annoying that the quality control didn't pick it up so it has to be filed back by the end user. Also a cylinder drain cock fell off as soon as I removed it from the packaging. Will email Hornby re these issues so hopefully they can learn for future. Edit: I noticed after running in for an hour that the boiler was rather warmer than it should be. Nothing seemed amiss inside and it didn't look like the flywheel could rub inside the body like it did on some H classes. Anyone else found this?
  15. Upon picking up my parcel I heard a rattle, oh no I thought. Turned out to be a front buffer, no big deal. Only given it a quick test so far but very smooth running straight out of the box. Is putting a piece of firm foam between the loco and tender a recent thing for Hornby? Little odd there's no mention of it being there and to remove it before running on any form of curve.
  16. Probably will drop back in with a drop of glue. Mine has just been delivered at home. Shame I'm currently 30 miles away from it!
  17. Been a while since I've used it but I think it will move off gradually. You can use it to simulate a heavy train with the engine revving but using drive lock to build speed slowly by turning it on/off.
  18. Lovely, just had an email asking to update my payment details. Again credit to them for honouring the original price.
  19. End looks like it's a separate moulding possibly unpainted or a different plastic to the main body.
  20. The green did make me have cause for concern. Nothing like the recent 9f models. Might end up purchasing a black one at theis rate!
  21. Beat me to it! I let my membership lapse last time but it's still showing as an active order in my account. Wonder if they will honour it given the Price increase as well as it's increased from 149.99 to 189.99.
  22. Given it was only in design when announced at the end of August and added in the amount of variations they could be designing/tooling for it could be a while yet.
  23. If the 2nd EP is only where it's got to it's unlikely to be out this year unless they are decorating them before they get sent over to Keith or Michael for inspection. That's just my opinion, presumably if there was news from the Great Electric Train show last weekend it would have been posted by now
  24. I always thought LMS bauxite was similar in colour to what BR ended up using. That looks very similar, if not the same as SR brown to me?
