  2. Well its either one of the woodhead electrics or one of those big articulated LMS jobbies
  3. Would that be the beyer peacock works or the Gortpn loco works
  4. Unrebuilt west country /merchant navy got me
  5. I have watched lots of footage of this layout on you tube it's fantastic, thank you for sharing it with us . I particularly like the line under Midford viaduct under what I assume Is demolition Is there any chance of a rough track plan.

  15. Lner ruined several A4 names of course. Walter Wigham instead of Sea Eagle and Herring Gull becoming William Whitelaw
  16. How about the proposed name for D226 Media Other names in the class including famous ocean liners and ships Some modern names just dont seem to be evocative eg Finincial Times

  18. This brings back memories for me an a level geology field trip in the mid 90s i loved it. It lead to my degree course in mineral estate management. There was talk when we visited that some of the spoil heaps would be remined/worked for barite which is a heavy white mineral used in drilling muds . We travelled by train too including 30 mins layover at crewe
  19. For me i would stay local between the 3 Pontefract stations timewise probably the 1950s just gor the variety of services and race day specials. The chord between Baghill and Monkhill stations would still be open too. It would be a sight to see Garrets pulling heavy coal trains and ecpress passenger services coming through just like no 9 on her last run
  20. Have just been watching Lost railways Somerset and DOrset railway on you tube if you are not familiar with it it is 2 programmes filmed by htv in the late 1990s features Ivo peters archive footage and others too
