I think that has been discussed on the other thread There are some differences in boiler/smokebox between the two, the L is a bit bigger than the K.

Hire cars are generally supplied by the repairers, so if your insurers are not repairing it, then probably not. If they have written it off, then you are buying back the salvage. It depends on the category of write off (can't remember what they are now, they changed them a few years ago), but if your car is repairable, but it would just cost your insurer too much to repair, then you buy back the salvage and have it repaired privately. You will probably need a new MOT afterwards before they will reinsure it. If however it is deemed structurally unsound, or so badly damaged that it cannot be made roadworthy again, then it will have to be scrapped. It's a pain having to deal with this, but good luck.

Phil's silly sixties and seventies snaps
Moxy replied to 96701's topic in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)
This picture on Flickr by Mike Taylor is dated December 1974. Track had gone by then, and building was demolished presumably early 1975. -

Could it be Agecroft Colliery? That looks like one of their RSH 0-4-0ST. Hope this helps -

Fox Transfers do one https://www.fox-transfers.co.uk/86220-goliath If you want a different style, then Light Railway Stores is the place to go. https://www.lightrailwaystores.co.uk/collections/nameplate-styles Not much more than the Fox ones, but you do have to wait 6-8 weeks for them to be produced. -
I agree, TT120 will be of great use to those of us who model narrow gauge in H0 (and 00 for that matter). I think what Teletougos was referring to was the unique distribution arrangments Hornby have for Australia, which prevent them from selling direct into Australia (like they do for the rest of the world).

For those interested in old buses (and coaches)
Moxy replied to Joseph_Pestell's topic in Wheeltappers
The video shows them spraying over the glass. This is not a part finished bodyshell, it's a fully fitted out bus they are repainting. It doesn't make sense what they are doing in that video. When I was growing up, my dad worked for Ribble Motors in Preston, and they used to respray their own buses. Except that they masked off all the windows/lights/metal trim etc before they got the spray guns out. It probably did take 15 minutes to paint a double decker, but probably about 3 or 4 hours to mask it up first! -
I can't find a photo of a sticker on a loco, but could it be a version of this sign that was attached to the depot wall? https://davetrains.blogspot.com/2014/11/bescot-tmd-4112014.html

There's this site, which lists most diesels/electrics up to Class 67/Class92 http://www.clag.org.uk/wheelbase.html It gives prototype wheelbases and wheel sizes, I hope this is of use to somebody.

Another long shot might be the Lancashire Mining Museum https://lancashireminingmuseum.org/ They may have pictures/old records donated by local contacts, Astley Green Colliery was not that far from Bickershaw.

The ADO16 was the project name for Austin/Morris 1100/1300 https://www.aronline.co.uk/cars/bmc/1100-1300/ado16-development-story/ and the 'Landcrab' was the nickname given to the Austin/Morris 1800 https://www.aronline.co.uk/cars/bmc/1800-2200/

It is something you can change on your profile in Account Settings > Content View behaviour. Might be worth checking that hasn't changed.

Yes, they are. Phase 3 or 4.

The shape of the cab & bonnet suggests it is a Thomas Hill (Rotherham) product, but I don't know exactly which one. (It may be a rebuild of an earlier Sentinel or Rolls Royce loco) Some other similar locos from Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/camperdown/5676879108/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/52932769@N05/50692666378/ I hope this helps in a more definite identification .

See this from the forums owners: He wouldn't switch the forum off to go on holiday, it's entirely unplanned due to something the hosting company has done. Being on holiday, he can't fix it until he gets back.

Abandoned rails in the road.....(or elsewhere...)
Moxy replied to 33C's topic in Modelling musings & miscellany
I remember those rails, they used to cross Fishwick View at an angle, then disappeared under somebody's front garden. I had a mate who used to live in Walton View near there & you crossed the track to get to his house. -
It is off line, more discussions here
