  1. Straight Platform: 108mm x 48mm x 14mm approx. Ramp: 90mm x 48mm at the widest point x 14 mm at the highest point. according to Hornby website
  2. I remember those on a club N gauge layout I used to be involved with. They were useful. Sadly, looking on their website I think that TT8037 is just a 'slightly longer than half straight' piece of straight track (92mm instead of 83mm). Doesn't say anything about being extendable in the way the minitrix ones were.
  3. You're right there is, I had missed that when I first read it. I don't really see how that could be considered as treading on Bachmann's toes, since they are not making it in TT.
  4. Just looked through the magazine. There's no Peppercorn locos in it, only Gresley A1's & A3's (and A4's of course). Hornby do the Tornado in 00, but it's not been announced for TT. Are you sure it wasn't a 00 advert somewhere?
  5. Not yet, but there was a comment earlier in this forum that the printers were sending the magazines directly, rather than sending them to Hornby to despatch. It would appear the printers are a bit ahead of Hornby in their despatching.
  6. There are a couple of suggestions here that might be able to help Elaine's Trains https://elaines-trains.co.uk/index.php?pg=home Although she doesn't specifically list replacement gears, she does have several other bogie spares, so may be able to help you. Lendons of Cardiff https://www.lendonsmodelshop.co.uk/?search=Railways-20Hornby-20International&showorder=partnumber&check=yes&searchme=Lima-20Spares-20--20Drive-20Units They might be a bit of a long shot, most of their Lima spares seem to be post Hornby International ownership, but might be worth dropping them an email. Other than that, it might be a case of finding a non working Western and cannibilising it for spares.
  7. Never used the Arnold chassis, but I have used one of these Halling drives https://shop.ferro-train.com/HallingShop/Article/ANT-VAR-H0M I know they run smoothly. Hope this helps
  8. Doesn't look like it. If it had been produced I am sure someone would have posted a picture of it somewhere in the TT120 forum on RMWeb, and I haven't seen any pictures.
  9. It was something Simon Kohler said in response to a question someone asked him at Gaydon I doubt that 'phase 9' is anything more concrete at the moment than - they have decided what to produce, started the research and maybe the CAD. Phases 1 - 4 are scheduled for release over the next 2 years or so. We won't see any announcements or models in phase 9 for I reckon probably about 4 - 5 years. I think it shows Hornby's commitment to the scale that they are planning that far ahead, even if it those plans change in the intervening years, they are in it for the long term.
  10. I agree it doesn't look great in that photo, but I don't think that is an actual TT120 van, I think it's a photoshopped 00 van. If you look at the couplings, they are at different heights, there is a gap between the mounting pin (?) and the coupling at the left hand end. It is possible the picture of the photoshopped coupling is overscale and that the actual coupling will be nearer to scale. Until we see the real TT120 wagons and couplings I don't think we should jump to any conclusions. (Except perhaps the photoshopping was done in a rush!)
  11. It's a full twelve months membership. Those of us who signed up in October 2022 will only have pay the fee when we renew in October 2023. Anyone joining on or after 1 February 2023 for twelve months has to pay from date of joining.
  12. I'm not sure Art of Compromise has been built as drawn. There is an interesting article by Chris Ford in October 2018 RM where he argues the original plan can't be built, but he has made a 21st century version of it. One of the things he did was make the loop longer, as you have in your design.
  13. They are different (BR) prototypes. The eight window was built as second class, the seven window was built as first class, but later declassified to second class.
  14. Same here. It was only just over two weeks ago they launched it, and given the price (free!) I suspect they have a lot of memberships to process.
  15. I would welcome a 'Local Goods' type set as well, but I suspect that would be some way off. The first goods wagons seem to be the TTA tanks and they are in phase 2 for Summer 2023, most of the rest of the goods wagon are phase 3 & 4, so I suspect it will be a couple of years before we see a goods set.
  16. Not that I am aware of, but there is an IO group https://groups.io/g/British1-87ScaleSociety They also have their own website http://www.british-ho.com/
  17. Is that not another CF7 with a slightly shorter cab (or longer nose)? It's got the right sort of trucks, the dropped section of the frame and the 'Topeka' angular shaped cab roof. Just as Santa Fe rebuilt the F7 into the CF7, this might be a post Santa Fe rebuild of a CF7 with a slightly different cab.
  18. Class 33s are Southern region engines, although they have been seen as far north as Crewe in BR days on certain freight workings. Class 27s are Scottish region engines, not that common south of the border.
  19. Why would it matter who has produced a particular prototype in OO? I agree with you both (or either) would be a useful addition to a range of TT locos. As Hornby is effectively market leader in TT, maybe there are plans for one of these locos in phases 5,6, or 7. We shall have to wait and see.
  20. Because they don't have any competition in the 009 track market. They do Code 80 Crazy Track & Mainline versions, if they introduced Code 55 009 they would just be competing with themselves. Now that they have proved it is possible to bury the foot of the Code 80 so that it looks like Code 55, maybe in the future when the moulds for 009 track bases need replacing, maybe that is the way they will go, but I can't see that happening for a long time.
  21. There are differences in the length of the cabin between Toad E & Toad D (upon which the BR brake van was based), but at the moment I can't find the drawings I have to confirm what the lengths are.
  22. Peco dismissed that in the July 2022 issue when they launched their TT track and buildings. That is a diorama they made to promote the track & building kits and to quote the article "It should be noted the auto train and mechanical horse are 3D prints and not indicative of planned Peco models."
  23. You can already produce Scalescenes in 1:120, just buy the 00 version and print it at 63% https://scalescenes.com/not-modelling-in-n-or-oo/ But generally speaking, yes I think others will start to produce card kits in 1:120. Aren't the Peco ones announced last month laser cut card? Edit: Just checked, they are laser cut wood.
  24. 3SMR sell the former BEC kits https://www.3smr.co.uk/locos.html
  25. Someone on the Hornby forum had a similar experience: "I was able to get a ROW free membership. I started to register and realized it was UK only. When I removed that from my cart, it came up with other similar items, which had the ROW free club membership." It seems the Hornby site can recognise non UK addresses. Hope this helps
