  1. The cafe with the viewing platform is great. What a grand sight to see. Cheers, Ade.
  2. Hi Barnaby, you need to be a Dapol Collectors Club member in order to attend. Membership is £25 a year and is well worth it given the amount of club only offers plus various discounts. (The usual disclaimer, just a satisfied customer.) The weather is looking reasonable for Saturday so hoping to crack on with the cabin then. The basic power line will be laid on Friday according to our sparky. Cheers, Ade.
  3. I forgot to mention that Modelu were at the open day at the weekend. Now who is that handsome Pannier tank driver? Cheers, Ade.
  4. A couple of tech details I recall from the presentation is that it will feature pick up from all wheels and the chassis will be compensated. Cheers, Ade.
  5. This was mentioned. The prototypes were sectional pre fab construction. It is going to be made in Chirk and will allow the modeller to build it with an option as to placement of doors and windows. It will come in different pre coloured plastics. There was also talk of other similar ones being done in the future for other prototypes such as GWR. Cheers, Ade.
  6. Looking very nice indeed. A great place for your layout.
  7. Nothing shown yesterday that we had not seen before. I do recall that they will be made in the UK factory.
  8. I did ask about the O gauge signals, again they should be with us by Xmas. One nice feature of the 14xx etc is the fitting of a sound chip and speakers is all going to be plug and play, no soldering required. Just removed the smokebox door, slide out the PCB and plug in the chip etc. Very neat. Cheers, Ade.
  9. I would like to congratulate all the staff at Dapol yesterday for putting on a superb event. There was a gazebo outside serving tea, coffee and biscuits while we queued up to go in at 10am and which carried on serving all day. There were here a lot of people attending and the shop was very busy doing a roaring trade. The nqp sale was very popular to say the least. I enjoyed the presentation and q&a session very much. This was followed by a very nice buffet lunch. I had a go at building a salt van and they even threw in a free weathering spray job. I came home with several bargains so all in all a great day. Cheers Ade.
  10. At the open day yesterday Richard said they will now be doing several versions of these including oil lit, gas lit and electric lit. Cheers, Ade.
  11. The 14xx et al should be with us by Christmas according to the staff yesterday at the Dapol open day. Cheers, Ade.
  12. This will be a nice addition and will be on my shopping list.
  13. In the question and answer session at the Dapol open day yesterday I asked about delivery of these. They are now in production and should be here by Christmas. Cheers Ade.
  14. Thanks Adam. Yesterday I had a day off from the building work and went to the Dapol Collectors Club open day event at the factory in Chirk near Wrexham. I must congratulate the staff for very well run event and it is one I will certainly attend again in the future. I came home with several bargains; another Autocoach this time with GWR lettering for £160, another two carriage B set but in the wartime austerity livery of overall Chocolate for £260 which I thought was great value. I also came home with a Star Salt van which I had pre booked to build myself again a bargain for £15. They even through in a free weathering spray job on the van. No work on the cabin today as the house is trashed after the rewire. Just the kitchen and the cable to the cabin now to complete. So we have massive clean up job to do. At the moment Mr Trebus would feel at home with the state of every room....... Cheers Ade.
  15. Hi Barnaby, thanks, I will certainly do that, but it won't be any time soon. Heck of a lot still to do. I have not built the legs for the baseboards yet. Never mind getting power down to the cabin. We are currently having the house re-wired, so you can imagine the devastation that causes. There is plaster dust everywhere.... Cheers, Ade.
  16. Yesterday I started to lay the insulation on the floor and got the first couple of floorboards down. Cheers, Ade.
  17. Here is the progress we made yesterday. All the roof planks are now in place. I have also fitted the double glazed units into the doors. Cheers, Ade.
  18. Interesting video Andy. I think the I Phone speaker is the way to go. Cheers, Ade.
