  1. The decals are now in place. Next job is a coat of matt varnish to seal them in and dull over the gloss undercoat to where the decals sit. I must say I was most impressed with how well the decals went on. They sit down really well into the gaps between the planks of the bodywork. I used Steve's tip of a drop of PVA in the water when soaking the decals. Still not completely finished as the glazing needs to be fitted, as well as the roof, plus of course some weathering. Cheers, Ade.
  2. Hi Andy, yes the buffers are still available. Please PM your address. Cheers, Ade.
  3. Back home from Egypt to all this lousy rain...so no progress can be made on the cabin until we get a dry day or two in order to fit the roof insulation . But on the modelling front, I have given the Toad brake van a couple of coats of gloss varnish today in readiness to apply the Railtec decals. Also found time to pop in to see Andy today and have a chinwag. Cheers, Ade.
  4. Hi Dave, the gear puller is already spoken for. But you are most welcome to the buffers and couplings. These owe me nothing, so just the postage is all I want. Cheers, Ade.
  5. Hi Guys, I have a part set of the Lledo vehicles to give away. One van is missing, but the others are present in the box with the limited edition certificate. Scale is not given, but I would guess would be ok for a 4mm layout? Just pay the postage. Cheers, Ade.
  6. Great photos as ever Gilbert . I always enjoy your images. But as another thread had canopy nudging as a sub theme, I can see this one going to hut nudging.. Cheers, Ade.
  7. Hi Guys, the rain has set me back a bit but some progress has been made. The fuse box is in place and the doors are on but need final adjustment and some more floorboards are down. Feeling a bit down due to the weather set backs, and I guess this is not helped as it is just a year tomorrow since I lost my Mum and this is playing on my mind.. But on brighter note, I am off on holiday again in the morning to Egypt for a week. Cheers, Ade.
  8. Hi Dave, any news on the A3's as the proposed arrival date of Sept 9th to 16th has come and gone. Cheers, Ade.
  9. I keep forgetting this is 4mm, it could easily pass for 7mm. Great stuff.
  10. Looks good. I think I would certainly have a go at some further cleaning before applying any primer.
  11. Looks good. I like how the curves aligns well with the baseboard. The lousy weather has messed up my plans too. Cheers, Ade.
  12. Will there be any kind of framework under the plywood boards? I think I would worry about the boards warping if the are not supported in any way. Cheers, Ade.
  13. Very nice video, thank you. Lez and I got married in Oosterbeek on the 60th Anniversary of the battle. I have a 1942 ex Airborne Ford GPW Jeep. I took it over 13 years on the trot to Arnhem. Cheers, Ade.
  14. Sounds like a plan but I might have something a bit stronger
  15. The armoured electricity cable to the cabin is now going down the garden. The sparky reckons a couple of hours work in the morning should see him done. So then the house will be finished and the basic power supply installed into the cabin. I have not finalised where I am having the plug sockets and lighting yet, that will be installed later once the cabin is completed. Plus here are a few pics of Saturday's buys. Cheers, Ade.
  16. I think it works fine. Looks good.
  17. Hi Andy, Lez and I thought the museum was superb when we visited a few months ago. Cheers, Ade.
