  1. Hi Guys, I had a client come into work this morning and she has consigned a small pocket sized photo album and a large postcard album to auction. With her permission, I am sharing some images here for you to enjoy. The small photos are original and taken by her Dad pre war, mainly LMS & LNER. The postcard album is a mixture mainly of commercial prints bought at the time but also has some of his originals in postcard format. Cheers, Ade.
  2. Thanks Andy. I need to pick up a few tail lamps from the O Gauge show at Telford next month. Cheers, Ade.
  3. Very nice work indeed. Seeing that book takes me back! Cheers, Ade.
  4. Got the second coat of wagon grey on the brake van yesterday. Tonight I have added the buffers, cleaned the wheels of paint and done the hand rails etc in white. Just need the decals now and glazing to complete. Cheers, Ade.
  5. The layout will be representing the late 1930s through to early BR days. Cheers Ade.
  6. Hi Simon, I must admit that though crossed my mind too. Nothing worse that having to rip up track. Says the man who put a left point in situ instead of a right... I cannot see one on this ariel photos taken in the 1930's. Nothing mentioned in the book. Taken a couple of snaps, once again credit to Mike Fenton. Cheers, Ade.
  7. Some nice progress today. Baseboard three laid out for the first time today. Made some minor track realignments to baseboard two and the track laid out for the first time on board three. Glad to say it all now fits according to plan. Baseboard three now painted. Cork and track to go down next. There will be another 8 foot to be added as baseboard 4. This one will be part scenic, part fiddle yard. Total layout length will then be 26 foot. Some grey paint added to where the station yard will start and the area between the passing loop and engine shed loop. I am now thinking of having a curved panoramic back scene. I propose to add about another 8 inch or so behind where the engine shed will sit on the loop on baseboard two. This will allow the embankment to be modelled rather than just painted. The embankment will start on baseboard one opposite the cattle dock and run along down to towards the end of baseboard three. Baseboard four will be highly compressed to say the least compared to the prototype. It will feature a small girder bridge across river Avon before the line disappears into the tunnel to enter the fiddle yard. Due to the line running off at a curve towards the back of baseboard four, the fiddle yard will be fed via cassettes. (Photo credit to Mike Fenton's book for the prototype track plan.) Cheers, Ade.
  8. If he gets involved in the cabin build quite possibly!
  9. While Lez is having her hair done, I thought that I would make the most of a sunny morning and work on the layout in the garden. Marking out the station platform is today's task. Patch finds the whole thing exhausting....he has been no help on the subject of interlocking points and signals either
  10. No, just used them as they come. They are pretty smooth to start with. Even the cheaper thinner ones from work Cheers, Ade.
  11. Thanks Jinty. The custom Railtech decals are currently out of production, so I have put in a request to be notified when these are back online. Seriously thinking of doing a "517" 0-4-2 Tank engine at some point...... Cheers, Ade.
  12. I could imagine that being a photo taken up in the Peak District.
  13. I am fairly new to airbrushing, but I am old school and I still prefer enamels. Cheers, Ade.
  14. I will have a cabin warming party once it is up! Got the first coat of GWR Grey on the brake van this afternoon. (Placed one buffer in place just to see what it looks like.) Hopefully I will get another coat on tomorrow. The I can get the glazing in place and then do the hand rails in white. Any recommendations on who does the best decals? Cheers, Ade.
  15. Andy is correct. There is also a brass kit on the market from David J Parkins.
  16. Dapol make decent RTR examples in a choice of liveries. Once weathered these look fine in my opinion. Cheers, Ade.
  17. Hi Martin, great news! Looking forwards to seeing more. My modeling music of choice is Yes. Cheers, Ade.
  18. Not sure how I missed this thread, but some very nice work here. Well done! Cheers, Ade.
  19. Just joined the collectors club. Cheers, Ade.
  20. Hi Martin, thanks. I cannot wait! Then I can really get going on it. Cheers, Ade.
  21. Here is a shot showing what will be on the baseboard. The area between the cattle dock and coal store were allotments.
