  1. If you look at the about section of their eBay profile there is an email address and a phone number to contact them on if you haven't tried that already?
  2. No problem with the links. Those old O gauge transfers might work for you and also some of the ones they do for the larger dinky lorries. I have used them and was happy with the results. Seeing your engine in context really highlights it's mass. I liked them before but I like them even more now, thank you.
  3. I would suggest phosphor bronze. In my experience it doesn't work harden as rapidly as brass which gets upset about being bent/re-bent.
  4. I'm not sure of how your models scale out against other models but Hornby Tinplate O Gauge was generally lettered over size (I had been meaning to post asking if a picture of one of your models next to something for scale would be possible). https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152453868180?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=m0SyvMLtTJS&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=uL-JGcPYSsK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162412991229?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=m0SyvMLtTJS&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=uL-JGcPYSsK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Hopefully they might be of use? I fear they may be too small though. Hope you find something.
  5. Well I didn't get onto the tank but I did some testing. Before that I set to cleaning track. Tedious but necessary removing 70 years worth of grime. But then it would have been rude not to clip it together. Load testing went ok but it was clear I will need to add some lead if I'm going to do a dummy unit to run with the powered one. 1 coach was fine, two ok, and three was too much.
  6. Sorry @Silas. It's Dolgoch (Dol-góch?) Falls. I figured out with one of the updates I could have a moving avatar but that probably doesn't mean I should!
  7. I think RB are making grand gestures immediately and then intend to run down the clock until everyone's attention shifts to testing. Then the FIA will announce an investigation and cancel it within 24hrs. They would have already announced one but I see they lost two more senior personnel this week.

    EBay madness

Apologies if this is a repeat but I don't always manage to keep up with this thread. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325998799660?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=WSf3swO_R5S&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=uL-JGcPYSsK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY I'd hate to see one they considered to be in poor condition.
  9. I find it harder to relate to non-UK based layouts as it's not what I know. Some I feel make their unusual location enough to justify their existence. A series of streamlined white rectangles speeding by can only hold my interest for so long. But a good layout in any location will hold my interest and I don't ignore a layout because it's prototype isn't one I'm familiar with.
  10. @SteveyDee68 plank of positive procrastination? Although that is better applied to my own desk of doing. Keeping an eye out for green things appearing at the bottom of the page as I recall there were some rather nice ones procured from L&B.
  11. Liam likes trains then...

  12. I was sort of on the right track then only I was using folded paper but it gripped it rather than releasing. I might try some plasticard.
  13. I've been working on more custom sides for the last few weeks. Finishing off some older stuff and trying something new. Today I've got together a test sheet for printing; With that done next weekend I intend to go back to the 4-4-2 and see if I can make it a runner soon.
  14. I have been asked to look at one of these for a friend. Nothing wrong with it other than it has some fluff that could do with being removed before it gets fully entrained. I have looked at the Hornby service sheet and it shows for clips to hold the body onto the chassis and that the body needs to be removed in order to DCC install it. https://support.Hornby.com/hc/en-gb/article_attachments/360016260920 I've spent a little time trying to get the body loose but it doesn't want to come and i don't want to apply too much force (or any really!). Can anyone who has done this tell me how to safely remove the body please? Thanks
  15. Having come into Brighton not knowing there was football I can confirm the above. Stood up the hill and with all the chanting and jeering going on I'm waiting for either; A) The musketeers to start volleying fire. Or B) hear the bugal call for a cavalry charge.
  16. If you are going to damage the track anyway as a last resort before doing that could you wet and dry the inside edge of the rail to open it back out through the tight spot? How much is it tight by?
  17. I remember that people thought Lewis was wrong to leave the successful McLaren for the struggling Mercedes... There have been a few exits from Mercedes in recent times. Have any gone to Ferrari, would Hamilton's presence be a divining rod attracting others to join? I had thought Mercedes planned to exit prior to the last rule changes but then the pandemic messed up the plan. It could be that they are still planning a withdrawal.
  18. Saw this video earlier today; Could I also ask a question at the same time. Does anyone have reference pictures of both sides of a 2-HAL unit? I have seen some from a distance that suggest a corridor with a big window between each of the doors on one side but all the close ups I have found show a door per compartment with 2 windows between doors. Books I have are unclear on the issue...
  19. I've been watching your videos leading up to this one. It's very impressive, particularly the effort you've gone to to get proper synchronization. I would ask, though, that you do your test runs somewhere that doesn't trigger my phobia of models plunging off the edge of tables quite so much! With it getting harder to run indoor live steam at shows several of these would be really captivating. Will the batteries outlast the water? And what happens if you were to stop on a quarter - with the magnet by the reed switch?
  20. Saw this on the PC when originally posted. Looking at it now on my phone I see what you mean. Sign writers don't have 4 arms (though to do what they do I'm not sure I believe that) it's two pictures on top of each other where the sign writer lines up top with bottom.
  21. Those old Airfix kits really do come up nice with the addition of an etch ladder. Top work all! 👍
  22. The 4-4-2 needs some drilling and tapping as the next stage. Too cold and dark in the workshop for that at the moment. So I've been working on the computer for the EMU. Results of today's labours; The blue won't be there in the end. It's just a vibrant colour to remind me to finish it before the final version.
  23. Yup, there was something about AI articles on radio 4 a while ago. When what you want is clicks bard etc. can churn out articles like that which are broadly convincing much quicker than you could type them. The few junior journalists are pitched against these bots so there is no time for them to research etc. If they do they won't earn very much.
  24. I read the Grauniad article. They clearly didn't go to the Bognor MRC show this weekend. Packed on Saturday morning with queuing needed to see all the layouts. Usual word count journalism. The other articles popping up will likely be AI generated as a lot of lesser articles are now.
  25. After a bit of a bleak week news wise it was reviving to visit  a show today. Many different types of people discussing knowledgeably, warmly, and harmoniously.

Which show? Glad to hear it was a good day. Weston for me tomorrow...
