  1. I forgot which locos to be exact, but the Aberdare did make it past the war and up to BR (but never made it far into BR). Bird series of the 3300 class did make up to 1951. Does look like some Bulldogs did make it to 1949, with one or two until 1951.
  2. Brining this to light about the current CADs and now soon-to-be-released 16xx. Will the coal bunker be one piece or a separate piece like the 16xx has been produced with? The mould lines aren't the best and just looks off. Images of the 15xx is from this thread, while the 16xx is off another RM, but using Model Rail's picture.
  3. I will say, and a lot of others, Accurascale products seem to be above par against other manufactures! We all eagerly await everything of yours! I will say your Manor will be the better one of the Manors! Do really like all of the tooling variations and die cast parts! How much separately fitted parts will be there in a detail pack (like how much are we able to change on the loco once we bought it)? Or is that still tbd?
  4. Now I wonder what the new tooled item for Bachmann will be on Wednesday. If it is said Manor, we just need Hornby to announce theirs! They already think the Bachmann 9F is out of date (which is a great model despite its older age).
  5. I did get this wonderful NRM exclusive 9400 the other day (after being lost by UPS for almost a week!). Sorry for not the best quality image! She is a great hauler, that being also super heavy! Probably one of my best haulers right now! Way better than most locos in my collection so far, even better than my LNER Pacifics (which isn’t hard to beat ). Now just waiting for my regular release of the 94xx
  6. For all you GWR fans who didn't want Hornby's Large Prairie, Dapol has shown two images of their Large Prairie EP, with saying they are planning different variations of the classes later on, like the 3100, 8100, and 5100. (Page 83, about 2/3rds the way down the page)
  7. For answering above instead of editing the post: the circle on the front of the S100 was used to display the US Army Transportation Corps roundel (or how Bachmann has it, the loco number) and then sometimes the duty number during SR days (instead of using a headcode disc). Not all locos had that for the whole time, as there are very few pics of them missing. Also two different length 3 links, not screw links used. It was 4326 that retained WD USA livery until BR (got my numbers switched). Several of the S100s were loaned to the GWR as well, but dates and numbers are not said.
  8. Thank you for the compliments on the weathering! As you can see, one of my buffer steps broke off at some point, but I don't know when! Regarding the circle, all of them received it as built (regardless of the company) and kept it until around BR, which then had the usual BR smokebox plate added. The book I have, does what they were for and what SR then used them at Southampton, but I'm not home atm. I will update this in about 3-4 hrs with why those were there. One feature that has been lacking with modeling these, is that they had two lengths of screwlink couplers, depending on what route they were taking at the docks. The NCB S100's were directly bought from WD. The book I keep mentioning is "The Story of the Southern USA Tanks" by H Sprenger.
  9. Where did you find the SR S100 in that livery? It's a good find! I just took a British Railways in sunshine version and re-liviered it into the SR version, just need to add the circle plate to the smokebox. And will be taking a NCB one and backdating into a pre-mod SR one. Annnnd taking the WD USA one and changing the number to 4236 (I think that's number, I do have a book on these). 4236 had the WD livery up until BR days, along with having white rims, something Bachmann forgot to do
  10. As @gregpokes1/Camdenmentioned earlier and shown off his beautiful Mallard tender (which is a Locomotion Models version that he added various details to), I'm working on various versions of the detailed inserts. These inserts are only a visual representation of the real thing, not dimensionally accurate (sorry)! I do have a few tweaks to do with these versions before counting them as "finished," mainly fixes for printing issues. Below is the other version for the non-corridor tender, a detailed Hornby version, along with the first test print of the raised bunker back. The high backed tender for the non-corridor tender is also for preserved 60008. There are so many variations of the non-streamlined corridor tender due to the differences with the preserved tenders. The two corner, rivet strips, and the tender door are all separate prints. A flush riveted door has also been made. I do not have any plans for streamlined faring, as that will involve sanding to be proper, along with the shell needing modification for the extended front faring (Look at the Hornby Garter Blue W1 tender to see what I mean if confused). As mentioned above, most modelers will model their tenders full of coal, so details will get lost sadly. These would be perfect for the preserved modelers and the not-as-filled tenders. For replacing the inserts, really simple to cut out (I've already cut out three! One of each tender variant ). The Hornby inserts are not part of the shell, just glued in (look at the Hornby W1 progress shots to see what I mean). Cut from the bottom along the edge, breaking the glue joint. And then push the insert towards the bottom of the tender, cutting any bits of glue still in. These new inserts should be a simple slide in and glue. We will post our progress and further info when there's more to show I do have a lot more drawing to do now! Any questions feel free to ask!
  11. Bringing back an old thread for a question for everyone, where would one get a replacement chimney to make the Bachmann Tornado have the correct real life chimney? I have the 32-550A version, which is the unclipped version.
  12. Same here! Hattons coaches are good chunk more detailed than Hornby's! I'm getting the GWR Terrier pack for Hornby just to try them out, but everything else I want will be from Hattons! I am hoping they make Batch 3 coaches! Even if I'll be buying just a few of the LMR, Metro, and SDJR ones.
  13. Don't forget the super old GWR Mogo van and the GWR Terrier pack with three of the 4/6 wheeled coaches with a shirtbutton on them. R3960 is the product code for that pack. RRP is £179.99, selling at £161.99. Don't look at the announcement pics for the price, it was set at £299.99
  14. So this page shows Batch 3 info, which was updated on Dec 31? The other pages people are showing are from Aug 12th, which have not been updated, like the main page for the range. I now see the "Please note - due to a number of factors, our Great Eastern Railway models have now been moved back to Batch 3, details of which will be provided later in 2021." from their site. But all of the upcoming liveries have now disappeared from their article? https://www.hattons.co.uk/newsdetail.aspx?id=594
  15. Yes. As in, look at their main page for the coaches. No sign of Batch 3. That article was from August 12th. Below is from December 31st. https://www.hattons.co.uk/newsdetail.aspx?id=594
  16. And sadly, looks like Batch 3 will not go ahead anymore, as it has been removed from their site... was hoping for a LMR coach or two... Still going to buy some GWR coaches when they are released from Hattons. There’s have better detail below the coaches. Along with some LBSCR coaches!
  17. Oh, I'm sorry! I had word searched each page and never saw it! My bad, but thank you for saying it was discussed! EDIT: Never searched Terrier
  18. Is no one going to talk about how expensive the GWR Terrier Pack (R3960) is? £269? If the loco costs £100 (or even £120 with DCC), and the coaches cost £36-ish, shouldn't that mean the pack would be £205 or £225?
  19. Wasn't 'Lemburg' rebuilt as an A3 in 1927? So shouldn't R30087 be an A3 tooling, not A1? (Yes that's the R code, even checked over at Kernow)
  20. With these new video ads (sometimes one or two of them per page), it completely messed up my phone to the point where it restarts itself because it can’t cope with the processing power needed. Along with loading pages or making messages, it locks up and has to refresh the page, when it allows me to. Every time there’s an update to the page (like making a message, loading an image into the message, checking feeds) all the ads reset and tends to over cook whatever I’m viewing RM on. If I’m on a page too long, the ad finishes and everything operates as normal, until the next ad comes or resets. If the ads didn’t take up as much power to run, wouldn’t mind it, but having issues with the devices I’m running it, that’s an issue. My laptop doesn’t like it either, but can manage.
  21. Weird, that's my bad though! If you look it up on the site, you can't find the listing. But if you have the link, you can see it isn't sold out My apologies!
  22. Please check again, as they are all sold out on Hornby's site.
  23. I won't get a NCB version, but would be really nice looking if it had the red connecting rods! I'll probably end up repainting an unlined one into a fictitious livery for the 15xx's, either 'GWR' or the transitional 'British Railways' version. Just depends on how much time I want spend working on sanding off the smokebox plate
