  1. Hi, I have also come across the two mk1's in Standish, but have not seen any evidence of a BSK in St Louis? How did a BR brake van end up in the USA? Is there any pictures of the two LNER BG's in California still? The mk1's that people have missed, is 15055, a BR mk1 CK. (Look up 1600 Dutch Lane, Jeffersonville, Indiana. It was covered in weeds and completely rusted. You can still see it on in the aerial on Apple maps. ). I have tried looking up my source of where I got the number, but seems like the site is now permanently down. I have a long list of UK locos and rolling in the USA (including a few that were in Canada)
  2. The samples being shown off from DPS, Locomotion, Rails, and yourself, are these samples or actual production models? Just curious, because they all look fantastic!
  3. Sorry, I forgot to mention, I was hoping for current preserved condition, would 55019 still be good for 55019? Thank you for pointing out the differences between the two, would have never noticed that!
  4. Question for anyone, Please excuse if discussed already, as search results did not come up with anything via this topic. Are Deltic nameplates the same size for the longer names? Like "The Prince of Wales' Own Regiment of Yorkshire", "The Royal Northumberland Fusiliers", and etc. From the renders, I can see D9006 "The Fife and Forfar Yeomanry" is very slightly longer. I would like to take 55011 or 55005 (the latter being sold out already) and rename/number it into 55019 "Royal Highland Fusilier".
  5. I'm sorry if I missed this, but when was the dark brown preservation livery announced? I only knew of the three (NCB Green, Preservation Light Brown, and delivery black).
  6. Please excuse my lack of knowledge with coaches, these coaches ran in set of six? Were they ever broken up into individual coaches or sets of three? And how far did they travel? Also seems to have slipped by most, the toplight corridors are also being developed, as said at the bottom of the Dapol annoucement: https://www.Dapol.co.uk/OO-Gauge-GWR-Toplight-Mainline-City-Coaches-Announced?
  7. If you haven't seen, Dapol has announced Top Light Mainline City coaches in OO. Details as followed: https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/n/155/Dapol-announce-GWR-Toplight-Coaches-in-00-gauge https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/170120-oo-gauge-gwr-toplight-mainline-city-coaches-announced/#comment-4730480
  8. Friend from a model shop. I can pm you who I was told by, if you would like. I wouldn't spread misleading facts if I didn't have anything to back it up.
  9. Thing is, Hornby is already saying to stockist they will be raising prices again by 10% around mid year.
  10. I have received my Garter Blue W1 today, direct from Hornby. Arrived in one piece! Wrapped with a nice thick layer of foam. I do not have a layout to test haulage capabilities. Positive opinions; the paint is probably the closest I’ve seen to the real thing. No longer a yellow tone to it. The red wheels is the best I have. Wheels have been retooled (both bogie and driving), no longer pizza cutters! The moulding seems to be tighter now on these wheels. The new tooling tender is great with the streamlining, something should have been done a long time ago. Everything else seems to match existing A4, if not defined more. New tooled front bogie for the W1, not a solid block of metal for the A4’s. But correct me if I’m wrong, but this will not work for A4’s due to lack of rivets? Negative; it is odd they put a NEM socket on the bogie. Yes it can be removed, but leaves the front bare with no pipe and cosmetic screw link. The pipe is supplied in the detail bag, but not screwlink. Of course, it’s a Hornby motor and runs a bit loud, but what can you do about it. Suggestions/neutral; the motion/rods are both good and bad. Some parts are new (crosshead for example), yet some parts are flat metal (union link), where the A4 had that detail. The lining is not as thin as R3771 Bittern, but more towards the past releases. They should have taken the time to retool/modify the tender chassis to leave new options for future tenders, whenever they retool the A4 (which would only be to update the tooling to modern standards and fix sagging). Not related: Does look very plain with no name! Attached (hopefully in right order and upright) are 10000, tender streamline (x2), colour comparison for body, colour comparison for wheels. Sorry about the confusion for tenders, 10000 is in the back, while Bittern (R3771) is in front. Left to right for bodies; DoC, Mallard, Bitten (R3771), and 10000. For wheels; DoC, 10000, and Bittern (R3771). Overall: this is actually a great model. This is probably the best A4 they have done. (Yes I know this is a W1, but you get what I’m saying) Update for R3840, still no word from Hornby since it was received by repair department. I would like to see more of the BR green W1 compared to other BR green releases from Hornby. From what I’m seeing, it is better than the Kings and recent models? Thanks for reading!
  11. So I’ve heard that Hornby has notified all stockists, there will be another 10% minimum price increase around mid year (same as last year and a few weeks ago).
  12. We just need to see the BR lined black version now and we have seen all of the liveries (I believe). So 8
  13. I would like to update everyone on my situation for returning my broken W1, since buying direct from Hornby. After a month (though there were holidays during that) and many emails, Hornby scheduled DHL to pick up my W1, as I'm overseas. It made it back to Hornby last Friday, and I am now waiting on Hornby repair team to email me on any status updates. This was an email sent to me on Sunday. I was promised a new R3840 (or at least a Frankenstein one with a non-broken shell). But I will say, their customer service has been lack luster. Their employees just look at the previous email and send a response that seems right. I was told my W1 would be returned and refunded, when I had multiple conversations saying it will be fixed. Again, I don't know how you fix broken shells without a repaint and lots of work, besides swapping shells. As others have stated, the rebuilt W1's are processing direct from Hornby.
  14. But in LMS livery? In recent times, they have done 4 in LMS livery (plus one in railroad range). All of them are domeless (besides the RR one). But in BR tooling, all of what you said for the dome options is true. I cannot say about the atomiser, chimney, wheel base, or lamp brackets. R2561, R2881 (RR), R3299, R3596, and R3616.
  15. My question, please correct me if I'm wrong here, Hornby went with the same exact dome/top feed configs as their previous models? LMS has no dome. BR versions all have the middle top feed with back dome.
  16. If anyone else has missed it, the Farewell HST and FGW power car pack is now ₤363 direct from Hornby. And the Midland Pullman is ₤382. There has been another 10% across all upcoming products.
  17. A question for all (not a debate on anything!) has anyone received any email back from Hornby or been in contact through their phones lines?
  18. Yes they are glued on at factory. Was a first seeing that. But not much glue was used, as one already popped off.

Hi! I did receive an email back and they restocked the glazing and happily purchased a set, along with another pair of wipers!
  20. @828CC and @OliverBytham I guess I was not the only one with this damage! Good to know!
  21. This is how mine arrived too! Bought direct from Hornby, and same country as you! Bravo for getting a good model!
  22. Thank you for the kind words! I do hope this is sorted! I wouldn’t even mind them just sending a new body, instead of shipping a whole loco back and forth. I didn’t even notice the plastic flash! But at least that is super easy to clean up and can happen to any company. I’ve updated my post stating what I’ve found about the packaging. There’s a huge void that causes a pinch point for the deflectors. There’s no stop on top of the loco to keep it from shifting up. Just a random huge void.
  23. So I have some pictures to share with everyone. Email has been sent already to Hornby direct, as I bought it direct thankfully, overseas too. Both sides of the smoke deflectors have snapped off. (Not fixable) The hole for the tender drawbar screw is broken. (Fixable, no issue). I have not test ran this. Straight out of the box. I don’t want to dare damage anything more. I’m not saying anything bad or good. This is what I received. Overall, the model looks great, fine detail. But I am flustered with this issue, so makes me torn. EDIT: From what I can tell, there is a huge void which is causing the front of the loco to be shifted inside the plastic, which creates a pinch point for the smoke deflectors. I’ve added a pic showing this massive void. There should be some kind of positive reinforcement like the usually have towards the front. BUT this is how I received my box from DHL. Already opened. Tape torn off. (wasn’t home so I did the pre-sign). No bubble. No box damage either, for any box. So either the plastic is super brittle where even just normal movement can break it or factory did this before being sent out
  24. Yes they are and I managed to snag 20142! Thankfully a friend told me about it, because I missed the online window.
  25. Unrelated to the amazing looking Manors, the S160 It would be awesome if a manufacturer produced a S160! At least five liveries they could do! (Army green, army black, gray, LMR Blue, and Omaha red.) Six, if they want to make a fictional BR black early crest! If they wanted to do like Bachmann did, make some of the European country liveries, despite not being a HO scale model.
