  1. Thanks to all for the details. Fred
  2. On the Hornby Engine Shed website last week they had the first engineered samples of RB’s and the identities on 3 of them have been changed. Also does anyone know where we can find out which types of bogies were fitted to all RB’s. Thanks Fred
  3. Hi, We are trying to trace when Unit Numbers M52045 and M51930 and also M51908 and M56491 were repainted into full BR blue from BR Green. We can find photos that pin this down so any suggestions as to possible sources would be appreciated. Thanks Fred and Alistair
  4. Hi, does anyone know where we can look up the timing of livery changes on Schools class locomotives from BR Black into BR green. If possible we are also trying to find the dates when they were fitted with AWS and speedometers. Thanks Fred/Alistair
  5. Hi, do we know if the Hornby Model of 78047 will be in late 50’s/early 60’s condition with late loco, AWS and speedometer cable attachment. Also does anyone know exactly which year the AWS and speedometers were fitted? thanks Fred/Alistair
  6. Hi, has anyone got any thoughts on where We can get hold of speedometer cables that will work on a Hornby Light Bulleid Pacific? Thanks Alistair and Fred
  7. Thanks for replies. in terms of Merchant Navy’s , West Country’s and Battle of Britain’s did some of them have black nameplates at any time?
  8. Hi, does anyone know if the front end of 31874 as modelled by Bachmann above is pre or post it’s 1957 modifications. Also does anyone know in which year the loco received a late BR logo. thanks Fred
  9. Hi, does anyone have any thoughts on sources we could use to investigate the colour of nameplates carried at different times for some research we are doing. We are particularly interested in Merchant Navy’s, Bulleid Light Pacific’s, Britannia’s and A4’s. At the moment we are having to look through photos and colour ones can be hard to find. Thanks Fred and Alistair
  10. I want to change the identity of my Hornby K type Pullmans so only the car number shows on the carriage sides rather than the car number and class for example so that it changes from Third Class Car No 73 to just Car No 73. As there are plastic mouldings going down in line with the window edges I can not just buy stickers to place over the current names as they will cover them. Any ideas I have seen images where someone seems to have done this. Thanks Fredo
