  1. Plus several skips - 8 cu m or above please.
  2. I'm being careful here as I don't want to be tarred with the same brush as various politician's but I am an inhabitant of Greater Manchester. I feel that trying to suppress this virus by simply closing places down won't work. The virus isn't going to simply disappear. It isn't a fog or mist which will eventually blow away. It is here now in the environment and as soon as we start being more active whether that's going to the pub, the gym, the shops wherever the risk of contagion increases. I have said it before it is not the rate of infections that we should be worrying about but whether hospitals are coping with it. Our society is based on freedom to choose and that includes how we exist. If we are now saying that is no longer possible, for the benefit of the society, we had better make certain that the ones most impacted are supported. Closing businesses will result in more people becoming destitute. Put simply if you are broke then you starve and no amount of superduper broadband will allow you pick vegetables or slaughter animals. I'm sorry if this is a bit near the knuckle for some but it is something that I think sometimes gets lost in the discussion on here.
  3. By gum Mr Combe Barton you don't 'alf lead a varied and interesting electronic life. From earwax to funeral plans the whole gambit of ones existence.
  4. Oh do you mind. We in the northwest are very proud of our midlandsness stop and desist at once. Its you lot over the hills that need to put your pigeons away and feed the whippets.
  5. Please may i have some 2 b 4 , the piece on the left looks about the right length. HOW MUCH! On your bike lad. Or Arkwright's doesn't sell it for that.
  6. Dear Mr Q It is our understanding here at D H Gate that you have been spending a considerable amount of time perusing our extensive range of products for pregnant women. We are delighted that you have chosen to do this and as a progressive 21 at Century pervayor of this merchandise we would be happy to offer whatever assistance we can to facilitate your selection. Yours sincerely A Waffle, Mz Head of customer facilitation.
  7. I whole heartily agree that the media have played up this damn virus out of all proportion to its impact. Whilst not wishing to bring politics into it. It has to be said that no government would look good no matter of what persuasion, in dealing with it. No doubt more learned contributors will be able to explain the reasoning but to my reckoning it is the hospital admissions, deaths and whether hospitals are coping that need highlighting not the number of positive tests. If we are constantly chasing the number of infections then there will be no end as the virus is not going to go away even when a vaccine is available.
  8. There are of course, as with any statements, exceptions and I think Mr Hunt, that in lieu of your meritorious service in defence of the realm, you can be allowed a dispensation from this ruling. However I do caution you as this is discretionary and will be removed if your driving does fail to maintain a high standard as required by the ER forum.
  9. I seem to recall a saying about BMW drivers that they think they own the road but that Mercedes drivers know they own it.
  10. Yes but has PC Plod been able to catch the little so and so's (other appropriate words are available) who threw the previous lot into the harbour. No good buying another lot if there only going to end up in the briney as well. You need to crack down hard on this sort of behaviour. I understand that is was nerdowells who broke the engine shed door.
  11. Is it like Triggers broom, same handle but has had several new blades. Oh the exits that way is it. Can I get my coat and hat on the way please.
  12. The other thing I forgot to mention was about making sure all of the information is removed from the old phone prior to its disposal. I once remember listening to a radio program where the reporter had a phone that was to be disposed of checked over and the amount of confidential info left on it was quite worrying.
  13. Having had to maintain the department's stock of phones I can sympathize. The best way I found was to transfers or save all the details such as contacts etc to your phone's memory. You then insert the new SIM card and then save them to that. Alternatively if you're retaining your current SIM card you save the details to that and insert that into the new phone. Be aware though if you do that you'll need to get your network provider to 'port' it across.
  14. My initial thought was moss but on zooming in, as suggested, I'm beginning to doubt. Could be saxifrage but I'm not certain as this doesn't tend to grow over and through Erica's.
  15. That reflects the impact of the war had on the population. My mother relates how when she was starting out just after the war she worked with men and women who had returned from the war to jobs they had prior to it. So you had people who had been shooting down enemy aircraft now being the office junior.
  16. Argh but you forget it looks good on paper.
  17. I believe the need for a tiger killer was because when one of the tanks was captured intact following the Torch landings it was found to be so more advanced than the allied tanks that it was like comparing a ww1 by plane to that of a supersonic jet. The only advantage the allies had was in a superiority of numbers and the manufacturing ability to replace destroyed tanks. Not for nothing did the Germans call the allied tanks tommy cookers.
  18. I used to like how it was easier to 'resize the establishment' whilst 'focusing on the front line' I.e sack the workers but not the leaders as getting rid of a couple of people on £15k was so much easier than giving the boot to someone on 100K and is so more cost effective isn't it. Plus if we are a team why does someone in the team need 100K and the rest less. Last time I checked if the floor wasn't swept in the abattoir why expect the meat to be okay.
  19. Good job the committee isn't sitting otherwise I think there would be talk of parachuting in a new management team to take charge of Little Muddle and that would be the last thing we need. So let's keep stum. I believe the committee have gone on a fact finding 'jolly' visit to New Zealand, as that's the only place which has the same relaxed atmosphere. At least that's what the chair said when he was asked as he boarded the cruise liner.
  20. Looks very good and you should not be knocking yourself. Remember nature doesn't make straight lines, man does and even then nature likes to interfere. May I make a suggestion about securing the bendy MDF whilst the glue sets. I will not be offended in the least if you choose to ignore it. If you installed some pieces of timber either side of the bottom of the MDF it would then slot between them and hold it firm whilst the glue sets. The ones on the outside could be removed but the inside ones would be hidden from view.
  21. I didn't think you could block rights of way or is it a private footpath?
  22. Just so long as its not a motion activated one as there's so much going on in the Sidings that it'll never be off! Still struggling with the spot the difference. Are you sure its 10 and not 5
  23. I blame it all on the vagrant seen imbibing from a 'thermos' (other containers are available) down by the estuary. These sort of nar-do-wells should be moved on by constabulary said L M Standing, Major (Retired) before going into the Little Muddle Arms.
  24. Anti-soçial behaviour in Little Muddle oh dear! Where's PC Plod when you need him.
  25. Well Chair I move that the meeting be adjourned whilst we study this latest offering. I believe that refreshments have been laid on and I for one am particularly looking forward to the custard creams and bourbon biscuits with my coffee.
