  1. A long, tiring, but very enjoyable weekend. Many excellent layouts to be seen. Eastfield brought back many memories of spotting in the 1970s. i's a shame they had technical problems - I understand they were mainly power supply related. It was a first outing for Glenkiln Road, and we have a lot of tweaks to it for its next outing, learned from our experience at the show. The Rapido Jones Goods had a run on the layout and looked amazing - I'm looking forward to getting mine! Wel, done to all for putting on such a great show. I will now lie down in a darkened room for a few hours/days...
  2. Had a look at the 50s and the Mk2bs on the Accurascale stand at Model Rail 2024 this afternoon. They look great!
  3. Looking forward to seeing a Jones Goods running on Glenkiln Road at Model Rail 2024 tomorrow!
  4. I've finally bit the bullet and decided to build an EM gauge layout. Set in Scotland, 1930s. As per the thread title, has anyone done a conversion of a Bachmann 812 from OO to EM?
  5. Mine works fine with a Loksound decoder from Road and Rails.
  6. I wondered about that. It is a Chinese made loco, however.
  7. I'm having problems refitting the bogie to my Black 5 - I think I have crossed a thread. Does anyone know the size of the fixing screw so that I can get hold of a tap to rethread the hole? I think it might be M2. Thanks.
  8. Decoder arrived this morning. Great service from Alessandro.
  9. Alessandro has e-mailed me, the decoder is back in stock and I've already ordered one. Many thanks @Locoman58 and @zr2498
  10. Very useful - I've just bought the same loco. Unfortunately, the decoder you used is currently out of stock.
  11. Yes, something like that. One way it ran fine, other way there was a ticking noise, I thought there might be a fault in the gears, however, when I ran it both ways on my rolling road it was silent. On the test track the ticking noise was back. Eventually I discovered one of the sander pipes was too low and catching on the chairs. Easily rectified!
  12. My Caroline was working fine on the first day of the Cathcart show at the weekend. By Sunday the tail lights had stopped working for no apparent reason! Nothing had been altered on it. Confused of Stirling.
  13. Thanks, excellent! I had noticed that the buffer beam was removeable.
  14. I recently managed to get hold of a pre-owned "KOYLI" from Harburn Hobbies. It looks as if it had never been out of the box. I want to add the buffer beam details to one end, but was surprised to find that there were no pre-drilled holes on the buffer beam as is the case on all my other diesel models. There are certainly pre-drilled holes on my Accurascale 37. Is it a matter of getting out my pin chuck and doing it myself?
  15. Just make sure the figures fit inside the seats at the ends - especially the narrower drivers seat - otherwise they will prevent the body going back on.
  16. Being fairly ancient I mainly remember them at Glasgow Central with a D prefix to the numbers, and the "Property of English Electric Leasing" plate on the solebar, so I have a preorder in for D423.
  17. I've fitted a few passengers and a driver. The driver figure has to be narrow as if any part goes outside the armrest of the seat the body won't go back on properly.
  18. I've changed the decoder from the Lais to an Imperium 1. Despite them apparently being the same decoder, the step lights and search lights now work! I'll now have to try to get the tail lamps working. As for the flickering, has anyone fitted a stay alive to Caroline?
