  1. Hi Fran, i know you can’t give specific details, but can we expect another steam project any time soon ? 🙄
  2. On the subject of the fixed trailing wheels, and I don’t consider myself to be an expert here. Initially I was reluctant to buy this model for this very reason but now have two of the rebuilt ones ! Can’t understand why they were not designed to be mounted individually ? A compromise yes, but better than the floating wheel scenario. What do you think are the chances of Hornby or third party coming up with a solution to this ?
  3. Thank you, that’s good to know.
  4. I see that you have added front steps and draincocks to the model, could I ask what the minimum radius that you can manage is please ? Thanks.
  5. I queried this with Hornby some time ago and they confirmed that R3986 & R3987 would both be late crest !
  6. Meant to add, would you be kind enough to post any findings and/or improvements on here please ? Thanks.
  7. Thank you Pete, appreciate the full explanation.
  8. Hi Pete, Could I ask what your thoughts are regarding the sound please ? As I understand it the wires to the tender are for track power only and therefore the model relies on the sugar cube speaker in the loco only. Thanks.
  9. Hi Fran, Very nice ! Could I ask a couple of questions please ? Is this demo still of the 3 pole motor... and now that the Manor is nearing completion, do you plan to produce era specific rolling stock ? Cheers.
  10. Hi Peter, Regarding the ‘crabbing’ , I have the early BR running on 3rd radius and have had no issues if that helps ?
  11. Hi Fran, Yes, by “plated” I assume it would be of the electroplated type employed by Dapol on the Large Prairie ? An example of metal chimney cowl would be Bachman’s GWR Earl Class for instance if possible. Thanks.
  12. Really not a fan of this fad for plated safety valve covers and chimney caps and would much rather see actual metal parts.
  13. Me too ! Dark blue one awaiting arrival of weathered BR black.
  14. Not much room, any suggestions for suitable crew ?
  15. Thanks, excellent job and really improves the look of the loco imo.
  16. Hi PaulRhB Could I ask how you went about painting the roof on Hardwicke please ?
  17. Beautiful model and I’m very happy with mine, but my god the tender connection is a pain !
  18. Re: Rolling road and traction tyres; why the sarcasm ? I saw the picture, but this does not say whether wheel sets have been swapped, genuine question.
  19. May sound like a daft question, but is it ok to use a rolling road to run in a loco with traction tyres fitted ? Thanks.
  20. Off topic, could I ask whether 812 dark blue has sand boxes/pipes please ? The pics on here suggest not, while the photo’s on Rails website show them !
  21. Apologies if this has been covered , but as this is ’as preserved’ does this mean that the dark blue is also an authentic livery for when the loco was in service ?
