  1. Ask them for a refund directly first. credit card chargebacks result in significant additional charges to the merchant which will only cause further harm.
  2. Im wondering if Covid, and the resultant move towards home working will result in retail property rents being significantly cut? we’ve reached a point where you can only afford the rent if you sell coffee, sandwiches or noodles. that market is going to shrink significantly and can only put downward pressure on leases perhaps I could set up a second outlet in an old abandoned Pret!
  3. I still have a big stack of PGAs if anyone needs an interim wagon fix from Cavalex!
  4. Updated opening times! We are really pleased to let you know that we are open again on Sundays! This will come into effect this Sunday (13th September). Our opening times for the rest of the week are also changing. Please see below for updated times starting this Saturday (12th September): Tuesday - Saturday: 10am - 5pm Sunday: 10:30am - 3:30pm by the way, the TPE 68 is still available...

  6. If anyone is still after a rocket I found a few down the back if the sofa... £179.95 http://www.trains4u.com/p/49960/Hornby-R3810-LandMR-Stephensons-Rocket-Train-Pack
  7. We have very limited numbers of the single wagons available to order online immediately. Any orders will be shipped on Tuesday. Railfreight (£45.00). - http://www.trains4u.com/p/50569/Cavalex-Models-CM-BBA01-RF(1)-BBA-Railfreight-910075 Plain Brown (£45.00). - http://www.trains4u.com/p/50570/Cavalex-Models-CM-BBA01-PB(1)-BBA-Plain-Brown
  8. We generally have a pretty good range of quality second hand in stock. During the Covid closure, we ran most of our stock out via eBay, and dramatically depleted our stocks. I’m pleased to say, however, that since reopening, we’ve taken in a huge amount of stock and we are, again, bursting with stuff. included in this us some pretty rare and hard to find OO items. we like to give our customers a chance before any goes on ebay. here is a selection:
  9. well, I'd better throw my stock in the bin and replace them with these...
  10. We haven't pre-sold out of any forthcoming Hornby models, and have a lot of unallocated W1s if anyone is concerned. We have also requested additional models from those being released because of this situation. Please contact us if you would like your name on the list.
  11. We are getting around to it! weve had an astonishing amount of product delivered in the last few weeks as well as a huge level of demand. our staff are stretched to say the least!
  12. I got all of them (in small numbers) sold out of 1703 today though. If most retailers are like us, they’ll be testing the water with only a handful of locos.
  13. Oh, and 76/77s can be found if you look around...
  14. EFE has been around for a week And already there is speculation and wishlisting of what’s next. I’m not sure my cabinets can take much more and I haven’t even paid the bill for the first lot yet! Im hoping it’s at least six months before more ranges are announced.
  15. I'll put them at opposite ends of my 6m display cabinet. Maybe no-one will notice!
  16. Admittedly, they will be a harder sell when sat alongside Heljan branded locos that are 20% cheaper. But Steamport Southport (Above) is right. You'd be amazed at the conversations I have with some customers, who would really rather not buy Bachmann, simply because it isn't Hornby!
  17. There are still, literally, hundreds of model shops...
  18. Bachmann Europe is a Kader company, but must compete for factory time as any other customer of the factory. This includes a dominant US railroad market, which often pushes uk production aside. if Bachmann Europe cannot get kader product, then why not buy in from elsewhere? buying the tools would not solve lack of production capacity (it would have the opposite effect) Bachmann have distributed Mehano, Aristocraft and EFE (before it was bought out by them) so it’s not a completely new model for them. Its also (as I mentioned before) a means for Kernow to distribute their models to an established retailer network without having to a) build that network and b) incurr Bachmann’s Wrath!
  19. Heljan has relatively low market penetration in model shops when compared to Bachmann. EFE rail will be picked up by model shops with no Heljan account. you would be surprised what percentage of modellers don’t bother with magazines or the internet they will see a high quality hymek in their local shop at a price in line with other locos, and will buy it because they like it.
  20. They can’t buy tools that aren’t for sale. so why not do the next best thing and profit from distribution.
  21. Is now the opportune moment to mention Hitler?
  22. It looks like Kernow have learned a lesson from Hattons. they are sitting on a load of tooling, but if they distribute direct to trade, Bachmann will cut them off at the knees. what better way to get the products distributed and retain Bachmann trade terms than to get Bachmann to distribute for you? its obvious when you look at it. (And quite a shrewd move, I might add)
  23. Think about it... previously its chinese factory(cut)...Heljan/Kernow/DJ(cut)...retailer(cut) now its: chinese factory (cut)...Heljan/Kernow (cut)... Bachmann (cut)... Retailer (cut) the extra bit bit of profit for Bachmann has to come from somewhere. That’s where the price increase comes in...
