  1. I could get it at that price in 1974 when I started to drive and then they had a ( potential) fuel crisis and issued fuel ration books to everybody who had a license.
  2. The main problem with the Manchester was the unreliability of the Rolls Royce Vulture engine (they were totally unreliable) it was down to I think Roy Chadwick at AVRO who came up with sourcing the Merlins and increasing the wingspan to take 2 on each wing. It just shows the fine line between failure and success . We owe a lot to the engineers at Rolls Royce and indeed are still doing so in our need to travel.
  3. Perhaps Hornby on fixing there release date hadn't checked the magazine publication date!
  4. Pocket mags have it available.
  5. Ashton U Lyne West it was, obviously not paying attention to the road or just plain stupid driving.
  6. Well it had been running on the Wensley dale railway pulling the ' The Polar Express ' Wonder how many times it went to the North Pole!
  7. And what would he say if work took place during the day delaying services, there are no words suitable to describe this type of person who buy properties and then start complaining about what has been there for years before there arrival !!!
  8. Also a visit to an exhibition is a good idea, speak to the the DCC layout operators and observe the systems in use and speak to any dealers selling DCC, they are usually most help full.
  9. Have you put insulated(plastic) rail joiners on the Vs on the points ? "Have droppers (feed and return) soldered on every piece of track" if this is the case then insulated rai joiners are required to the V's on every point.
  10. And with a BEV you just plug into the mains charger and tell it to defrost, after 3/4 mins a nice warm car and ice free windows all around !!! Unplug and drive away.
  11. That explains a lot from the view over here !
  12. Is there a posting where it is actually shown how to remove the roof on these models. Mine seem to not wanting to play along. Thx
  13. I take it that you use a computer which receives on going support and updates many of which you are unaware off, most of which are manufacture instigated as fixes to potential problems to which they have been aware of or indeed improvements to the operation of the system in use.
  14. Your reply does cover support but does not mention of any updates to the ACE-2 !
  15. I wonder what the future support and updates if any there will be for ACE-2 users ? !
  16. Careful with what you say a private message to hattons may have been advised, now Hornby have been alerted I fear a train set may be on its way soon !
  17. As been said BP is more than well worth a visit as to the allies code breaking activities during WW2, Such were the activities there towards the end of hostilities the allied high command knew the orders being issued by the nazis before their forces at the front knew of them. A fascinating place for a visit which also makes you aware of our current world wide listening services. Nothing broadcast is not able to be intercepted and listened to, Alright if you stay on the right side of what you are saying. As a point when I visited a good few years ago you bought your ticket and it wasn't just valid for the day, it was valid for a whole 12 Months, really good value as to have a really good understanding of BP a days visit is not enough. Is this still the case. Enough said.
  18. What is going to happen to those people that have pre ordered lighted versions from batch 2 are you going to pre fit lighting or are you going to automatically supply lighting kits with there appropriate coaches ?
  19. Yes but still involvement and with a company run from above the border that started with buss's
  20. They keep that quite that Italian state railways are involved.
  21. Similar response given when the Motor car first became available but look how many are in use these days. Accept change it will happen whether you like it or not us mortals dont really have a say in the matter. !!! You may think you do but you dont.
  22. But driving a BEV (battery/electric) is so much more a pleasure and a more relaxing drive than driving an ICE ( Petrol/diseasal) car !!!
