  1. Recovering from some serious 'railway modelling'

  2. Maybe nothing is showing in the stencil indicators because the signal at the end of the platform is on?
  3. The box local instructions are worthy of investigation. I did have them away when i stripped the box but i haven't found all the pages yet. There is certainly an instruction that freights are not allowed to pass unless instructed by control.
  4. The overlays depict the new turnouts laid in for the resignalling works and the extended passing loop. The track circuits should have been cut through the point detection though i'm not sure if the east one was. This means if the not yet commissioned point blades do open up for any (and most unlikely) reason it doesn't go unnoticed..
  5. This was the last box diagram displayed in the box. I do have an office copy of a later one that was never issued. Please excuse my rather crude attempt at joining three photo's together.
  6. I have 4S80 in signalbox registers signalled as 3-2-5 as you would expect but on a few occasions 4-3-2-5 was used. This meant it was longer than usual though i can't find a document at the moment to confirm the lengths.
  7. I always use the latter. The silent 'H'..
  8. They are in use in my signalling simulation of Ely. We get to signal some of the same trains today on the instruments that would have passed Derby Road. 4S80 is a regular, Felixstowe - Coatbridge.. I have most of Trimley box tucked away to do something with one day. I had four keys with the instruments. I don't know what happened to the rest..
  9. The token machines in use between Derby Road and Trimley were rather superb ex LNER Tyers No9 instruments. I have changed their configuration from 'C' to 'A' to reflect their new role as the Ely Dock - Soham instruments, used along with a similarly configured auxiliary pair for remote issue of a key. I have kept one original key as a keepsake plus another with it's plate removed to show the key was originally engraved Derby Road - Orwell.
  10. Yes indeed. Here is a bit of history for the tokens on the branch.. http://freespace.virgin.net/david.holden4/felistowe_branch.htm
  11. Some of Leyton's finest methinks. A superb piece of work but there is only one way it will go back together... the way it is intended to be. I have three projects on the go with McKenzie and Holland products and two are being relocked with LNER standard locking (Dereham North and Central). So much easier to play with. (Thuxton will be a 4 inch Cam and Tappet) The Derby Road frame was a candidate for Thuxton but is just too small.
  12. I have paperwork for the box as it was at closure. I will have box diagram, locking table, dog chart and circuit diagrams if of any use. (I also have the lever frame, all the instruments, relay cabinet and most of the signals).. <G>
  13. There was a bit of a late one here last night Mick. Me and my partner of 8 years tied the knot.. The most popular wedding gift... The signal is looking superb. Saying about reusing parts, i saw a picture in a magazine many years ago taken during the Doncaster resignalling. All the signalling items had been recovered and separated into piles of component parts ready to be reused. I wish i could find that picture now.
  14. Looks like it needs interlocking with the signalling? Super work.
  15. I've seen a picture in a book showing what must be an 'OFF' indicator hanging inside the roof.
  16. How about a picture of a locomotive? An unusual route set too.. http://www.flickr.co...s-32297024@N08/
  17. There is a brief discussion here regarding Wembley Stadium with an earlier track plan.. http://www.signalbox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3938&hilit=wembley+stadium
  18. It's a real privilege for me to be out on our national network doing in 2012 exactly what is pictured in the first photo though without the hammer. I have just installed a new mechanical facing point with mechanical detection and was present last night to cover a tamp and a quick tweak of the detection was required. Super pictures.
  19. It's lurked in my collection for a while. I can't remember where i got it from though. It is worth studying the signal numbers as there are some odd goings on... I look forward to more of your superb photo's of this rather interesting bit of railway.
  20. I guess there is no hope for me. I have six.
  21. Grantham South. I can supply it in more detail if required.
  22. No shortage of box diagrams for Grantham if they are of use.
