  1. An interesting short wooden post with weight bars makes several appearances in those photo's. I guess it's to do with the route indications on the semaphores. Can anyone confirm?
  2. Note the hand point lever in the platform.. The points are too far from the box to be worked (350 yard limit) but are facing point locked from the box (no limit).... a handy dodge..
  3. Super work. Is the frame in the front or back of the box?
  4. It just so happens me and PwayOwen have been doing a little bit of Crescent Junction too.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/pwayowen/11695105556/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/32297024@N08/11566815165/
  5. I've not seen it in any photo's yet. Construction is on hold at the moment as domestic duties keep getting in the way. I'm just about off the hook so will hopefully i can make a start again tomorrow. The thought that i have a Bar Car and a Booth Car to do is causing an itch<g> With the latter i can find an excuse to go look at the real one if i need details..
  6. Many thanks for that. I couldn't imagine it without one but stranger thing's have happened. Again the instructions don't mention the voltage regulator. I've not noted anything conventional in any of the pictures i've looked at.
  7. Mrs. LNERGE has bought me a goodly pile of coaches to make for Christmas. They are all from Southern Pride and look rather superb. First out of the box is a MK1 Griddle car. Immediately i have a question though i will confess to not reading the text supplied with the kit. The picture on the box shows the built kit but there appears to be no dynamo. A quick trawl of the net has proved inconclusive. Did say SC1104 have a dynamo?

  10. As i said i have no eyed deer why i have it or to why it is like that. It's been filed away in the 'silly thing's other regions do' folder. I ought to find the original and get it somewhere it could be appreciated. I've always had in my minds eye taking it to the Bala Lake Railway on a jaunt round Wales, but that wont be happening for a while. Mrs LNERGE wont be up for that for some time yet methinks.
  11. Yes that helps. Other thing's to note... a half buried battery box, the disc signal base looks capable of holding six weight bars and i can now see weight bar on the ground slot which now leads me toward this may be some sort of weighted detector also.
  12. Sometimes photo's like this turn up. I know the intended subject is the motive power but look into the detail. What lurks behind the four stack shunt discs? Is it some sort of ground slot? I have reason to believe some of these discs were controlled by two boxes. http://www.flickr.com/photos/llangollen_signalman/5867028164/in/photostream/ I think we are looking at 20/22/26 this would have been 4 stack at one time, and slotted with Skipton Station South through both Down Main and Back Platform Line. As proved by the next photo .... http://www.flickr.com/photos/llangollen_signalman/5867028928/in/photostream/lightbox/ A totally magnificent picture there DaveF.
  13. Yup that was me running around like a looney on Saturday night uncovering all the new speed signs and checking them against the sighting forms. I reckoned i must have walked about 15 miles..<g>
  14. There would be a lump like this on each gate post.. both keys need to go in the keylock on the lever to release it...
  15. Wow love the ground frame! I hadn't put that style of key locks at that age.
  16. I knew i'd seen one with worse cabling.... I had a rummage round the net and found it.... Taken be me D'oh.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/32297024@N08/10496570165/in/photostream/
  17. Rather than dig it all out again could you not model a circuit controller on the arm with a cable leading to it that can somehow be used to supply the lamp? How about claiming the lamps have pyrometers and running a cable to the lamp that way? Here's something a bit more new fangled than your Midland signal and the cables are clearly lashed anywhichway.. edit to add this... http://www.flickr.com/photos/25443598@N06/6903040321/in/photolist-bvZToz-7EXXki-djjix5-8TJ18o-9mbJpB-bhqfVM-9UaewH-9UaewM-8yjrzp-7SUmWY-aaXDTE-9cAExQ-9cAEku-8yni4V-b6izTp-bWbjUy-9pwFQa-9Dk2Vm-aPCfy4-9pYdWJ-7SR5Ba-bx3JbE-bvZZv8-bvZXzB-7K28Md-7Qpdya-8FVGiT-7Go2w7-eeUpeq-dne8n4-7Gj6je-cjmb1S-9QjwHu-eqNDfQ-eqQL8s-eNTSKS-eNGuXF-9pzHp1-bvF1nX-9hC1dc-bvF4u8-bvEVg6-bvEXKt-bvF6tx-7Gdvgu-7Go2rw-7G9xUe-eeUq7J-7xZauP-eavS4v-eavRJx We couldn't built a model like this it would look awful..
  18. Some pictures posted today here.. http://rcts.org.uk/features/mysteryphotos/show.htm?serial=1&img=67-002-12
  19. The EDB's 'simply' cut the track circuit feed. The voltage of the track feed does look a lot higher than normal though. Acle box diagram here.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/pwayowen/7900398356/
  20. No but there are four electric depression bars in the four platforms. I'll have to see if i can find out what they do. They could indicate separately or interrupt the track circuit feed.
