  1. Hahaha - the internet really needs a sarcasm emoji 🤣
  2. Sorry, I mean in the immediate post conversion as opposed to current.
  3. Ah right. On mine it looks pretty slow on a digitrax system.
  4. I think if you search the thread for starting voltage someone posted something. Sorry I’m on my phone right now so trying to do two quotes is challenging! I did the change and it was much better.
  5. 37401 would be nice but in original condition.
  6. It'll obviously be produced to meet what they see is the demand. That being said currently there aren't many sold out on preorder and will be interesting to see how quickly the others are sold. If it takes a while then the second batch will likely take a fair bit longer than if they sell out overnight. A separate question I have is, have any class 92's not in GBRF or Caledonian Sleeper livery hauled the mk5 stock?
  7. You know I was just passing York and noticed again how prominent the wheels are. Good job and well worth the time and effort in this area.
  8. I think this is Olivia's trains model. Plenty of rare but popular stuff at or above RRP.
  9. Would be great as an optional etch. Nevertheless could be procured on the aftermarket which I will certainly do if not included. Fran just beat me to it!
  10. I understand the sentiment, however my point is that the Hornby model needs a strong unique selling point to make it in a crowded market. I'm not convinced this exists beyond brand penetration. Going off the back of my recent acquisitions of an APT-E and APT-P by the two manufactures, I am somewhat skeptical that the Hornby model will be better. I'll be the first to say it's pure speculation and I could well be proved wrong but that's part of the fun for me.
  11. My understanding was that it was produced correctly as it models the current condition. However, the current condition does not reflect the condition during the speed record.
  12. I'll be honest I'm struggling to see a board market for this now. It'll arrive at roughly the same time as the Rapido one. Probably be inferior but is more expensive as it can only be bought in a pack. That's before we even get into the fact that modelers in the know will probably avoid the model out of principle anyway. I'm sure they'll sell a fair few but not sure it's worth their while now over other models.
  13. Yes this was in the original announcement. I did note it as being an interesting development.
  14. It's probably so it doesn't break off with trainset curves or handling as the bogies can pivot more freely than the prototype.
  15. Yeah fair play to Accurascale. They've taken a huge amount of risks with this model to push the envelope and they have almost all paid off.
  16. Imagine if rapido decide to make the replica coaches? I actually don't think it's that far fetched an idea honestly. No copyright issues either on that.
  17. I think that's a dead cert... ...unless there's a slightly different purple version which they'll probably do instead.
  18. https://uk.Hornby.com/products/hm-queens-platinum-jubilee-west-country-no-70-elizabeth-ll-era-11-r30231 Hmmmmmmm anyone else seeing this concerningly back in stock? Optimistically, only thing I can think is that it's unfulfilled allocations that retailers haven't sold. Pessimistically, could be selling off retailer allocation.
  19. Honestly Hornby need to make more of these. One of the best models I’ve ever got, let alone from the red box.
  20. Just get the rapido one? Much cheaper and almost certainly better detailed?
  21. literally 10 minutes after posting an email is in my inbox 😂
  22. Can anyone find where to write a review on the accurascale website? There doesn't appear to be a button on chrome! I have looked a few times. In other news I think turning the master sound down slightly has removed any sign of the vibrating speaker noise.
  23. To be fair I do have 92038 (for the roundels over 92010) on order but very much a rule 1. I am hugely looking forward to it based on my deltic! My day to day needs to be a 73/9 (either by itself / x2 or with a 66) as there's no OLE. What are people planning to use away from the wires for the CS Mk5's?
  24. Not sure where best to put this (probably not this topic) but since there are a few of us needing 73/9's for our Mk5's I thought here as a first port of call. Might be me being new to the hobby and not patient enough but KMS said they'd have something to announce back at model rail scotland on the future of the 73/9. Nothing happened and now starting to wonder if they'd dropped it since accurascale dropped it. Just seems a long time to wait from when they said they had news on it and then didn't announce anything (spoke in person and said there'd be something shortly). I asked through social media a couple of months ago to follow up and nothing. Very conscious they'll be people with mk5's landing soon and no certainty on traction options so may buy an alternative. E.g. a GBRF 66 instead of 2 73/9's though I know the 66 always runs with a 73/9 on fort william runs at least.
