  1. More announcements you say? Keeps up your once a week streak I suppose. Hopefully something that fits my late 80’s theme would be smashing!
  2. I’m assuming that Glasgow is in another time zone?!? Otherwise I might be asleep!
  3. You might have to explain this to RBE! Obviously it isn’t going to have that sticker (assuming that is what you are driving at!). Looks a fine model and I wish Cavalex the best of luck.
  4. Your memory isn’t letting you down, my 1988 Ian Allen ABC shows 6500 - 6504 in the Laira NSS pool, supplemented by six others including 6522, so they were around for a while. Easier just to invoke rune 1 I would suggest!
  5. Or construction…..or petroleum…..or the single distribution (160 was it?). Got to be a trainload one in there sometime soon hasn’t there?!?
  6. Nothing in the Cavalex range that tempted you then?
  7. Am I wrong to think that 43196 was built from new without a guards window?
  8. A 1980’s Inverness, Motherwell or Eastfield class 37 please.
  9. Yep, like others have said, congratulations and very much looking forward to the next lot of announcements. Mk2C’s, Sir Edward Elgar and another couple of 37’s will do nicely thank you!
  10. 50026 In original NSE with black window surrounds… I’m sure there were quirks everywhere and whilst every variation will take time, I’m sure Accurascale are up to the challenge!
  11. I was assuming that was because the main part of the body couldn’t be climbed and therefore only getting into and out of the cab would potentially get you within the OLE limits?
  12. I think so, but only round the cab? The below picture is of 50023 just after re-paint in late 1986 and you can see the orange stripe. This is taken from the excellent Honda Wanderer site. 50017 is also on there, but later in 1987.
  13. That’s not what the description (on Rails’ website) seems to suggest. I’m intrigued.
  14. Never worth the RRP (£250) in my opinion and I agree, they would have to be down around the £175 mark for me to be seriously interested looking at those pictures. I hope Heljan can find a way to listen and get these issues changed, as they aren’t a serious competitor to Bachmann as it stands. What’s going on with the Guagemaster releases? I was interested in 47492 and haven’t heard anything. And why are they cheaper than the standard Heljan releases?
  15. Scrap that, I think I’ve answered my own question! Something still looks off about them though.
  16. Appreciate they probably aren’t the finished model, but the first thing that struck me was; what’s going on with the door window? Shouldn’t it be the same depth as the pull down cab window?!? I was hoping these might be a winner, as there were some liveries that interested me, but for the alleged price and what we have seen here, I’ll give it a miss as it stands!
  17. Good question. Does that mean the identity might change to say…50043 and what implications does that have to those who think (and want) they are getting 50014?
  18. No problem. Cowley 47521 makes a good point in that in 1985, apart from 50007, all were in large logo (I think), so it was BR blue, likely to have been a class 47. Good year 1985. It was the GWR 150th and loads of things going on and a 13 year old me was very excited. I digress though…
  19. Could well have been then. 50’s were prevalent at Paddington and Waterloo and 47’s were everywhere! Could have been a class 31 I suppose, but doubtful if it was on a passenger train.
  20. Do you remember which London station? It is distinct possibility.
  21. Maybe they will, who knows? They did say they have quite a few things in the pipeline. Have you made any suggestions to Fran et al as to what you fancy? I do agree another steamer is probably overdue but I’m sure there will be one along soon enough. What they have done is listen to their customers and realised that this is one of the major models that needed a serious refresh and would sell really well. Certainly your comments could be directed at both Hornby and Bachmann as well. I have no connection to Accurascale, but it does seem their approach to their customers resonates with them, as well as pushing the boundaries at reasonable prices (compared to the competitors) and long may that continue. The same goes for Cavalex, Revolution, Realtrack (and others) as well.
  22. Rodney ordered. Tempted by Royal Oak as well but going to wait to see what the New Year releases bring. Fair play to Fran for adding that little snippet. Will be ordering Sir Edward should that be part of that batch.
