  1. Why do we need re-tooled brake vans? I think the Farish ones do the job more than adequately.
  2. Has anyone come up with a solution for the wonky Cartazzi truck?
  3. Maybe a promising sign is the maroon Thompsons in OO.
  4. Sounds like a job for DCC Supplies to me.
  5. It doesn’t look as if Rapido are going to include the duck-egg blue on the bogies!
  6. That price seems high. Are you just considering the magnetic type? You’ll find the plain Dapol Nemcoups quite a bit cheaper, if you’re not doing a lot of shunting.
  7. Have you noticed the price though?!!!
  8. Excellent news! A long-awaited model. A 23 next please!
  9. Maybe it’s a mass-production issue and it’s cheaper to leave them on.
  10. FFA/FGA--now you're talking. I'd love to replicate those early days with grey/red containers too.
  11. Aren't the '87' bogies similar to the '90'? I'm hoping for a spin-off!
  12. Original BR FFA/FGA freightliners for me please!
  13. Crepello replying to Nimbus! No need to worry about the Prairie--my 56xx has 2 x Easi-shunts (short)--no problem fitting. I've managed to fit all my coaches with Dapol buckeyes or Easi-shunts, but I've had to cut off either one or both 'horizontal pins' from the coupling shank, including on the recent newspapers BG. Locos and wagons seem to be no problem. HTH Parp, vroom!
  14. Your right Bob--the axlebox error will be repeated in the Farish model when it comes out. (I model in N). I'd welcome any thoughts on adapting it.
  15. Can anyone inform me with which services (and with which wagons) the CAR brake vans would have been used. TIA.
  16. No, but I'll leave it to the experts to explain in detail.
  17. Should have checked first! I wonder how the VIXs will run on tight curves.
  18. Didn't the Ford 'Dagenham-Halewood Daily by Rail' vans have a similar chassis?
  19. Thanks guys, I'm totally confused now! The May 1963 shot of 46235 is the one I'll base my decision on for my City of Birmingham--providing I've got some Brunswick Green paint; same goes for City of London's maroon (or was it crimson?) otherwise they'll have to be black!
  20. Thank you! You wouldn't believe how difficult I found it to locate a shot to convince me!
  21. I'd be grateful if anyone can confirm whether cab doors were painted body colour in BR days (green or maroon in my case) or whether they were black, as supplied with my Farish 'City of London. My green 'City of Birmingham' currently has blue(!) doors which obviously aren't correct. TIA
  22. Aren't all J50 sales being handled by Rails of Sheffield? Patience, patience!
  23. A lot of time seems to be spent on experimentation with magnets other than the Dapol ones. Can I remind you that the latter, cut in half, glued between removed sleepers (between rails) and covered with ballast are discreet and problem-free.
  24. Yes they are expensive but bear in mind 1. Exchange rates since June 2016, 2. the huge increase in shipping rates, 3.increased UK haulage rates due to shortage of drivers ,4. VAT included (1/6). I don't think we can moan at Bachmann for many of the above. You either want the items or you don't and you tailor your budget to suit.
