  1. Sounds good .I have used some in some small Hon3 brass using the original gears and a NWSL idler replacement and it runs very well .I have stocked up on some motors and even a few NWSL gears for a rainy day as NWSL are closing soon .Another great motor are the 6 pole types .Slow runners so not for expresses but powerful. come sin two sizes
  2. Many years ago I lost a pair of H0 driving wheels for a brass USRA light mike as it happens,a relative of the 141 I believe.Couldnt find them for years ,luckily I managed to get a replacement pair from Sunset .One day years later my wife was rummaging around down the bottom of our garden and found them .We believe our Springer took them.No other explanation .
  3. MJT make some etched brass NEM coupler boxes with a long bars to fit just about anything with the right method.I agree it is stupid to make the wrong height boxes . I mainly use US stock which usually comes the right height .
  4. Chet Bakers cover of Elvis Costello,s Almost Blue .
  5. The lower formula guys are getting track limits banged into their heads at an early age now ,They lose a lot of points and trophys for going over them as its such close racing unlike much of F1.
  6. Whats WT forums ? World of Tanks ... a forum for the exclusive discussion of tanker wagons in all their forms .
  7. Can I sue Jones for the extreme angst and distress cause by this thread .I dont have any thing on order but its become addictive and corrosive just reading it all .Its full of bile .hate .common sense and bad acting .A bit like East Enders I gather.I think i will start smoking again just to calm down .
  8. The large can 180 in my photo should be OK for 0 gauge medium tanks .It has a lot of grunt and is overmotoring H0 locos unless biguns.
  9. This is what I do .Radio always needs the assistance of your imagination which is much better than the real thing.
  10. They take at least 2-3 weeks often more .Sometimes so long I forget that I had ordered them .They are good though .I always order a few of anything interesting as some day they will just suddenly disappear and then what happens
  11. I think the clue lies in the words Set Track.
  12. As I havnt done one yet no photos but I am thinking of modding a high level box by soldering a flat arm /tray to hold the motor in place using my usual silicone method .
  13. I just use cheap laisdcc. They work and dont go up in smoke ,at least when I use em .I use a stay alive cap and have front and rear lighting
  14. Its a shame it all ending so badly ,i am sure Dave didnt want it this way .
  15. Sven at Tramfabriek sells a specially commissioned 12 volt corelesss a motor for repowering 009 Hoe locos like the Roco feldbahn 0-6-0's .I have one Very sweet runner .I have a diesel for sale as I bought a Bachmann Baldwin so must pay for my sins..Its pretty small though .Its sold on ebay .There is of course SB Modellbau who sell coreless motors and also Roundbell aka www.locodoc.com who sells them in the states .None of them are cheap or a easy fit.
  16. Here are a selection of cheep Chinese motors I got off ebay and used .the one installed in the loco is the 6 pole 15 mm square which gives fine medium speed running with a NWSL 36-1 gearbox .Powerful for its small size and perfect for an SP 2-6-0 .The larger Square motor is a 6 pole 18 mm and will pull the hind leg of fa donkey .I have one ina united UP 2-8-0 .The black motor is the Mabuchi ff050 type which runs quicker than the 6 pole and the large can a Mabuchi 180 .These are all great motors .The little Mitsumi I use on those H0n3 2-8-0 types like the Westside C16. All are as good as Mashima for actual layout running .I usually glue all my motors on with silicone with a black Milliput saddle if needed .Hope it helps .
  17. Hermann Goering was into them if anyone wants to use him as an example of just how well adjusted we all are ,
  18. I think the problem at Ferrari is that they are not quite fast enough so have to produce some rabbits out of the hat to make up the gap .Sadly they came up with up with Bugs Bunny .
  19. Mercedes are probably writing the spec for it at this very moment .
  20. .There is also a larger version which i put in a UP 2-8-0 .Plenty of grunt They are not high revving so great for locos that do work . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2pcs-Minebea-Square-Motor-DC-12V-18V-6500RPM-10000RPM-Large-Torque-6-Pole-Rotor/282303561073?epid=519347888&hash=item41ba9a7d71:g:TUQAAOSwA3dYIu01
  21. Might be worth trying the square 6 pole motors in various sizes .they are great in my smaller ho brass.see ebay ..of course.I use most of the Mabuchi chinese motors and can report they all work fine .I also put the little mitsumis in Hon3 brass and they run as sweetly if not better that a Mashima and a bit cooler ,Probably due to BMW using them in their door locks. As they are only a quid or so each I have tried to blow one but they have refused to cooperate .Bloody Chinese junk .you think they could burn out when ordered .
  22. I notice Rails of Sheffield have a Walthers VICTORS special run Silver Streak box car kit on Ebay .A fine souvenir of happy days .
  23. Its just a thing dumb kids do .I watched my late friend demolish a phone box in seconds when we were at the local grammar school .All because he couldnt get through to his MUM .He ended up a policeman .Another fine upstanding lad I went to school with used to break in anywhere he could .He stole food ,guns ,ammo ,anything ..he was our favorite source for stolen 22 ammo .He later became a teacher who dabbled in model railways. His father would have died on the spot if he had known .Our villages known drug dealer to the local kids was the son of an officer in the drug squad ..if his parents had bothered to look out of their upstairs window they could have seen him in action . Its very sad to see our models defiled stolen etc but kids are dying for less.
