  1. But there needs to be a market ? Bit like me saying I hope my local Lidl starts flogging beluga caviar - nice idea but no market . Why would Ireland buy these demics when for years there has been GM products there I think .... and the 60s niche is the stuff that 66s can't pull - is there anything in Ireland like heavy enough ? We have to think more as businessmen , less as enthusiasts with these what if scenarios
  2. I agree with a lot of what's been said . If I'm pi.... off modelling doesn't get me out if it but if I'm happy it enhances it . If I'm tired of stressed my concentration is such that ok just shunt a few trucks rather than try and build anything
  3. As much as I like them, they are old technology now. I can't see FLHH sing any if their 66/6s can do the job - there appear to be loads of idle locos sitting around in the UK at present
  4. As we've said before, once you lease 250 class 66, you use them in preference to owned assets which cost you nothing to rot away in a siding
  5. Yeah , My last delivery was fast and I use them from time to time . Can't imagine they sell much of that preowned junk at the prices they offer
  6. Occasionally, idthink it would just be short term planning and everything seems to be transferred from the hardstanding by DBC didcot depot. They used to have regular movements of old wagons in out that had rubbish bins on. Quite amusing to watch a 66 shunt these in and out.
  7. I had two . Something always fell off when trying to remove the body . Too fragile for me
  8. Nice work on SSA, I could do with some of those I think
  9. That's something unusual. Nice work !
  10. He always finds something negative to say. Looks ok to me ! Detail is great as ever.
  11. Yeah I'd do the container TBH. There was a grounded VDa body at Northampton yard in transrail years but I think they were not that common anymore
  12. Model is damaged, I'd return it TBH - pain in the ass though it is.
  13. That's a nice loco, I have one as well. I still think the Hornby 60 is top of the tree even ten years or so after it was first produced
  14. I should have got the connection ! He was a man held in high regard
  15. Think of where you are modelling and find a village / town/street nearby and use that
  16. Can't I'm afraid as it's still wrapped in tissue / I'd better preserve that as some collectors are into that
  17. I think it's had its day , should be sent to the same place blue Peter went
  18. Is that Bachmann palisade fencing ? I'm rapidly going off the knightwing version I have
  19. " what's the big fuss ...." Hold on, this is a site about plastic toy trains where fights can start over rivets, so this is a big deal for some. Personally I couldn't give a monkeys, and she can't be any worse than the current post holder .
  20. Looks great. I'm waiting to see if the Oxford warwells include the later bits , if not I'll be going down the same route I think
  21. Sounds like some staff with god complexes need cutting down to size !
  22. The ME Evans planked one Probably go on eBay as I'm a diesel modeller
  23. I think it's tremendous value for money, I'll even be going to the day out for kettle fans...
